Well I don’t hate them much but today specially feeling like throwing my phone out of this window along with my credit card.
Calling their customer service for the 3rd time…
The only message i could hear is “Sorry all our phone banking officers are busy, your call is important to us, please continue to hold the line”
Now also she said this message for the 12th time..
and now..”We apologize for keeping you on hold….please call back later…thank you” well that was the 3rd time in a row…
I lost my net banking password and asked them to renew it and damn they sent me new password by post after waiting for 10 days and what now ? I am still not able to login…
Sucks…customer service is bad according to me…account holders have to wait for such a long time…I tried thrice but still couldn’t talk to any person…..all I could hear was voice message….
So if you are thinking of going for HSBC credit card then don’t expect much from their customer service…they won’t pick the phone even if it is 11.30 in the night…

I hate HSBC! I went travelling for a while and so I changed my registered address to my parents. I also paid 100 pound to cover my overdraft fees while I was out of the country. I went to access my account one day and found that they had closed my account. I called them to ask why and they said it was because they had sent me a letter last month telling me they had sent numerous letters saying I have to pay my overdraft off immediately because my account had been inactive. I was not overdrawn more than 1500 and I was covering all overdraft fees! I was appalled to find out that they had been sending letters to my old address! So now I have to deal with a collections agency and probably have been black listed and none of this was my fault. I think that now that they have reduced the overdraft fees due to the big uproar they just want to get rid of people who don’t pay their wages in their accounts. I had full intention of paying the overdraft off when i returned and they were not charging me any late fees so I was so shocked to find they had closed my account without even telling me. I HATE HSBC and I will never bank with them again.

I hate the friggin bank also. I used to work there and can tell you that they suck. They send the work to India, and them people are more stupid than a pig in mud.
I tried to call today about a problem with my loan and called the number on the paper they mailed me only to find out that its not thr right number so they told me to call another number and they couldnt transfer me. I thought here we go. Well after calling that number they said nope not the right number, call this number, and so I did. Once again told not the right number and was put on hold numerous times, once for almost 20 minutes until I hung up.
I aksed to speak with someone in the US everytime and was told the same thing. “You can get put back in the que,but you might not get an American. Well is that just freaking great. I was finally told ok we have someone from the US and when they tranferred me I got a Chinese speaking man who’s english was worse than India. Of course no one could help in which I decided I need to just go to the branch and see a live American person. I hope HSBC goes to hell like the other banks are. Then what will the little India people do then? Maybe they too will open up nail shops. LOL

HSBC have continually been calling me as I have several DD’s coming out of my account every month, but no money go in. Now this is because I have a seperate account into which my wage goes. On numerous occasions I have asked for a a list of DD’s so I can transfer them, but no. Never happens. All that they are concerned about is that money goes into my account. Whenever I ask them - and I do every time - for the said list of DD’s, I’m told that “they can’t, it’s not their department”.
Poor customer service. I know, and have actually told them, how they can get a letter sent to me with this info. I’ve told them the memo code to enter into their computer. And I’m still waiting. I know this information, because unitl 2006, I used to work at HSBC, but was made redundant because “people overseas can do your job just as well”.
Apparently not.
When I hear about the banking system going down the pan, and the big banks losing money hand over fist, I console myself that it couldn’t happen to a more deserving set of a**eholes than this shower.

Ok well frist of all Rachel, did you not proof read what you typed before hitting submit? Your grammar is right up there with an eight year old. Then you have the nerve to insult these people’s postings about their education levels. Ha ha. Pot calling the Kettle black as they say.
Next….I am an employee of HSBC Bank as well. I do feel sorry for the customers who have been mislead and bullied into products you don’t need because of the banks greedy ethics. They focus purely on the big accounts, business (large and small) and forget about the every day guy. They also rip their own employees off by forcing us to hold and account with them, pay a below average wage and don’t pay over time so you are more or less working for free sometimes. It is disgraceful.
Lastly….I have never felt sorry for people who have had to pay overdraft fees etc. This is well before I started working for a bank. I see it that you are still responsible to manage your own money and bills. It is no banks responsibility of calling you at home every Monday morning to ask if you will be able to pay for your previous weekend of partying and/or shopping!

I gotta say most of the people that are here complaining about late fees and for being late are bunch of retards!!! Of course your going to get a late fee for being late!! they have no grace periods and they gie you a recommended mail in date. Thats why they bill you for it… you cant say there was a family emergency because theres so many people that have called with lies… I’m not saying everyone is lying but its like the second movie of Harold and Kumar.. Outside people look at us Americans like a bunch of idiots for never reading the info we get sent to us. The reps are not all from india retards. We are also in the states. I get people calling everyday for saying stupid crap like i couldn’t pay my bill because I was out of town. Hello? That sounds like its your fault not ours. We try to help people, but what they don’t realize is that there’s another human being in the other line that most people to care to scream at for your own mistakes. And for the people that sign their applications without reading are also impaired. I get call from people saying well they Best Buy Rep said to sign in all those blanks. Gee if they told you to eat your own shit would you? And then you call back saying ohh they never told me what Account Shield was? Most of us Americans and retarded. And then you all dumba**es are saying nonsense like i had to wait for 20 min on the phone! Do you think we just finance one or two companies? We finance over 100 companies and there’s a lot of retarded people calling in about Late Fees again? If you read your card holder agreement then it would state a lot of truths. People are saying oh yeah my other credit card gives me a brake. Not knowing that a lot of their other cards are also from HSBC. We give breaks to people who ask for a break and if it’s within guidelines. How are people going to think they have to pay only (example) 800 when their bill says 1300. Then they ask well my balance says 1300 but promotional payoff is 800. And then their retarded self send the wrong amount and get all the deferred Finance charges for not calling to ask or again like I said; read their statement back and front. People wanna sue our companies all the time not knowing about their cardholders agreement. And then we have the other group of idiots that call saying well I didn’t get my statement. Gee did you ever change your address or checked with your post office. Of course they’re going to say yes because they’re going to sound stupid as hel* when they say no. How many mail gets sent out and gets lost? ALOT retards. And then we have the another set of people saying well my Best Buy card or my Kawasaki account are not my main priority. I have other bills to pay. If you just read that sentence it doesn’t sound right because I you bought a big screen TV or a Computer do you think it’s going to ay itself? You don’t own the item until its paid. Everyone Keep that in mind. I’m so sorry to hear all these uneducated and educated people sound like a bunch of impaired people.
Sincerely a Rep that gets this kind of daily bullcrap

Had an awful, awful experience with HSBC in the UK. I don’t even know where to start. From the day I opened my account it was mess after mess. They treat people like rubbish and lack any interest in serving customers. They made an error in setting up my account, charged me fines when I couldn’t pay my bills because I couldn’t access my account online while overseas, eventually waived the fines when they acknowledged it was their fault, but yet proceeded to cancel my credit card anyway. I even wrote a letter to complain and they told me I couldn’t get a new card because I hadn’t paid my bills. What the?? First they tell you it’s their fault and then they still treat you like a criminal. In any case, this is just one of the many horror stories I have about HSBC. I could go on for a long time. I eventually left them as soon as I could, and as a parting note they started spamming me about returning my cheque book and card to them as a matter of urgency. Ah! Treating me like a criminal up to the very end, eh? I know where they can put their cheques and card. What a lousy lousy bank! Keep away.

I bank with them in the UAE. If I didn’t have to pay 28 dollars to get away from them, I would leave them so quickly. Right now they don’t take any fees from me, so I’m just happy that I’m hopefully costing THEM money, but they are HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

I HAVE NEVER EVER DELT WITH A LOUSIER BANK THAN HSBC!!
26-Feb-2008 at 4:30 am
I hate HSBC…here is my story and I will say I have never, ever been treated so poorly by anyone. I am not a loser and I do have good credit. Last November, I did not receive my statement. Where did it go? I have no idea. I called them when I realized it and by this time another statement was being mailed to me. They told me to wait and I would get it anyday. I was on the zero interest rate plan and when I got my statement, my interest rate went up to 16.99%. My minimum payment of $50.00 was now $450 which I could not pay all at once. I called again and nobody would listen to me. Absolutely nobody there is willing to help me. So, I sent in $225 dollars and I keep getting late fees and now my interest rate is 31.99 and my payment is $500 per month. I cannot afford this. I want to get an attorney to stop this mess and get caught up.
Any ideas?

it just seems that HSBC is the only company I have dealt with whose prime objective is to take your money. a few months ago I was a little late on a bill so I was getting hounded by the collectors. I finally talked to one of them and we established that I would pay x amount one week, then x amount the next week. but what the man didn’t tell me is that he set it up as a recurring payment taking money directly from my bank account. so the first week came and I sent the money over the internet for my bill. but that didn’t matter. since it was recurring it didn’t matter that I sent it in, it took out the same amount that I had just payed, so not only had I payed my bill twice, I racked up some overdraft fees with the bank. and when HSBC realized there was no money in my account they nailed me with a 30 dollar charge. this happened for about a month straight no matter how many times I called to tell them to stop. now I am in debt $200 to the bank, and roughly $200 to HSBC, all because of one persons error, not my own. and now HSBC refuses to take blame for this, so unless I try to make legal maneuvers I have to pay $400 that I can’t afford right now. if anyone has any info on how to sue this company please contact me. my email is barrellaj@hotmail.com. I would definitely love some info on how to stick it to this rip off company.
and also like to hear stories of how many other people this garbage company full of thieves, has ripped off. thank you.

Has anyone sued HSBC? I live in Washington state. trying to refinance my house. My credit report says i was late on a mortgage payment in may 06. HSBC miss applied loans! Clearly their fault. I even have letters from them stating it was their fault and that all bad info will be removed. I have copy’s of my checks that cleared and that also shows them scanning the wrong account number. i have sent faxes to them, have conformations, they say that they don’t get them. they want to keep me from refinancing. the rate goes up! this is not fair!! Someone needs to sue HSBC!! how?? i could go on and on someone help thanks

HSBC GM CARD
1. Called one day to adjust my statement date by four days. They adjusted it by 20.
2. My card was due to expire in a couple weeks. Wrote an email asking when it will be sent. They closed my account. When I called, they offered to close the new account that they created and open another.
These people are in India. They do not understand English, and I firmly believe that they know key words. They then must read from a set of prompts.
Now I understand why Americans have a superiority complex. When we call places located somewhere else and the people act tlike idiots, what else could we think?
08-Oct-2007 at 2:22 pm
For all those uneducated/illeterate idiots- Why blame the bank or any service provider if you are not capable of handling their automated systems. There are toll free numbers to get the balance, but we with our most backdated mindset very badly wait on line to talk to an agent !! How stupit ?! We got a PIN to identify ourselves, but we dont enter the PIN instead get annoyed with the Customer care agent for verifying ! Next time you visit an HSBC branch and join a que - time it and compare with another bank’s que. Think this is some cheap way of putting down an excellent service provider by some backboneless/unethical competitors !

HSBC sucks…it is impossible to actually speak with a live person…I called to close my CD account and literally had to select the option that my credit card had been stolen to actually speak with an HSBC employee, then got a runaround while they tried to find someone who could help me close my bank account. Ridiculous–then when I actually found a real person to talk to, they said they couldn’t close my account until the maturity date. GUESS WHAT- I called back on the maturity date and they said I couldn’t withdraw early because the CD had RENEWED at maturity and I “hadn’t let them know that I wanted to close the account at maturity”!!!!!!! Funny- they wouldn’t LET ME! What a joke. Terrible customer relations, STAY AWAY!

They are the most unreasonable bank ever! I checked my account balance the other day and I am £300 short. I check with the bank and find out HSBC Credit have taken the money without any authorisation whatsoever or any prior warning. To top it off they can’t explain why this money has been taken and they say it is going to take 14 working days to resolve the issue. In the meantime I have been forced to pay my rent late and I haven’t been able to eat or get to work to earn any more money to cover my arse. I have a job interview to get to on Monday and it looks like it is not going to be possible now all thanks to your friendly worldwide bank! Seems like an extreme coincidence for this to happen in the week when the world economy has taken a big hit!

HSBC PREMIERE THAILAND has terrible service! Do NOT even think about opening an account with them!!! They are always changing their policies and the customer ends up paying. I had to beg, I mean BEG the call center to even tell me the NAME of my relationship manager. I have tried calling the highly marketed “relationship manager” many times, but she is never in the office, and she never calls back when left a message. They are an anonymous empty corporate machine that likes to tout themselves as your “local bank”. WHATEVER! Take my advice and bank with someone else that doesn’t over-promise and under-deliver.

POSSIBLE VENGEANCE!! Some Congressmen from NY and other states are looking into regulating the OVERDRAFT FEES for all banks…. I used to work for HSBC. It is absolutely 100% their BUSINESS PRACTICE to screw poor people out of money by enrolling them in Overdraft…. which consumers do not even have to agree to…. fes associated with credit cards and other bank lending products are regulated; there is a max as to what they can charge, think its around 29-30%. Way back when, it was decided that OVERDRAFT FEES were not “finance” charges and were not subject to the same limit… in other words, banks can charge whatever they want… if you are short $1 on a purchase and they lend you $1, it costs $35. you do the math….. granted, i should know what my balance is at all times, but…. some purchases post the same day, some the next, some in 5… its virtually IMPOSSIBLE to track all your debits, plus automatic payments coming out…. they make it that way on purpose… PLUS, they’re my freakin BANK!!! who else would I expect should be able to provide me with a valid, real-time balance at any time??? they cannot… it is beyond frustrating, it is criminal. I worked there…. they are very successful overseas, theyre relatively new to US and it is their goal to turn the US market into a gloriofied chop-shop… lets take em down!!! CLASS ACTION SUIT!!!!!!!!!
