We are using Hathway one of the machine in our office, recently they introduced some new internet plans, so we decided to switch to 256 kbps connection from 128.

I called them up on their helpline, tried couple of times..no one picked up…3rd time some person picked up the phone…gave my account details and asked him to change my plan. As usual he asked me to mail to their email address, since we had followed the same procedure for other account and no one cared to reply for 3-4 days so I told him that no one replies there so please open the ticket on phone only…..

He opened it and told me their person will get back to me, gave me complaint number…

No one contacted me for approx 5-6 days, so I decided to call them up and find out what’s happening, as expected he again asked me to open the ticket…I told him that I already have ticket opened, please search for my name in your ticket database and find it….

He finally found it and said, yes there is a request to change the plan but it has not be followed up…

I asked “why? I had mentioned you guys in advance and also told that we want new plan to get changed from 1st of May so why it has not happened till now?”

He replied saying “Sir, because you have not opened the ticket”….

I was like…(WTF) “dude? what ticket you are talking….you have everything in front of you and still you are saying not opened ticket….”

And the argument continued for quite sometime, but in the end I agreed to mail them again and he promised me that they would reply to my email soon….

Got few quick replies from their side…most of them were redirects (Nitin, please correspond with Deep, Nitin says..i will get back to you in couple of days etc….)

and suddenly everything stopped, no replies for 2-3 days…called their billing department…got in touch with Nitin, he promised me that he will send me details soon…accidentally I found the invoice in my boss’s cabin…called him up…but he wasn’t there….

some other person asked me to provide details and damn again asked me to send mail…sent mail…no one responded…

called up after 3-4 days….i.e. today…got assurance that he will call me….and he did :D

So end of the story…..? He is going to issue a fresh bill and we have to pay charges for the month “May” according to old plan…

Today it is 17th of may, I haven’t got any invoice from them (I had talked to them approx a week back)

Very bad customer support…sucks…

    yeah even I been using it since two years now…. Their customer support is stupid sometimes.. earlier I had sharred connectivity and when I use to call them saying their router is down… they use to ask me to clean cookies… damn .. it was frustrating… to even get the point across

    but I still believe Hathway is Best among the worst broadband available in India :-) as of now

    Unfortunately i am logged on to these pages after applied for a new connection already.Now they say thell deduct a 1000 Rs for termination.I paid them well 15 days before till date they have not installed the modem and connection .And to top it all since last one week I call them everyday (yes they wont call even if u leave messages or anything)and they tell me not that they ll do it after so and so time .Theyll tell you it will be done today.You wait whole of evening and call them up again next day.
    All this when i share the building with the owner of this bhavani cabel:)
    Man this really is a pain.So people any plans For a broadband connection go for MTNL much better.

  13. hey folks im with hathway chennai, i recently found my connexn was too slow and checked and was flabbergasted to find i was getting roughly 30kbps. Great!! this is what they call broadband. I was promised 256 kbps and i have to put up with this shit! Nonetheless i called up hathway customer care and told them the problem, they said it was fine and i wouldnt know kbps from Kbps, would you believe that!! Im changing isp’s right now..

  15. I think your speed is 30 Kilo Bytes per second equals to 240 Kilo Bits per seconds.Dont be confuse with this bit and byte.Read about this.

    30 KB/S is excellent speed.

  17. HAthway customer support sucks .. I recently asked for a new connection and havent been able to use if for 4 straight days now. The customer support puts u on a merr-go-around trip.

    Suggest everyone keeps away from Hathway!

    I am facing lots of problem while surfing net. Your net is working very very slow. As yours Engineer instruction when I ping to the gateway it showz “Request Time Out” & after 10-12 lines it shows Reply and than after same “Request Time Out”.

    When I try to call on your given phone number i.e. 56429933 its reply that to Fax or Mail Hathway.

    Fews weeks back also I mail to helpdesk but there is no response from your side.

    Please solve this problem as soon as possible. Because it effect my personal business.

    I discontinued my internet connection in the month of Jan and the person called “Samuel Benjamin� collected the modem, power adapter on 5th Jan 06. I was told that it would take 3 weeks to get back my advance. Unfortunately I haven’t got it till now. We had contacted them may times but of no use.

    I don’t know what to do.

The local office refuses to give the mail ids? This shows the transparancey in hathway

  31. I have been using Hathway broadband for last 12 months and the conclusion is that they are big cheats. They ask you to pay the money in advance they leave you totally on God’s mercy. Their helpline no. is always busy and you feel the day is made when you get their no. Frequent disconnection is something very common, despite repeated promises no body comes to check. I also wrote to their high-ups but no response. I have got very good feedback about Airtel broadband, I am going to switch over. I think this way, Hathway will become another Iqara..

    They ask
    1 your name
    2 your number

    then next information is
    3 we will call you in 30 mins
    but you will never get any call

Hathway Customer support at chennai is worst don’t go for hathway i got connection on the day itselt hatway was not working for me up to 15 days but still now it is not yet solved .workers in hathway deff and dum if you complaint also they won’t reply and further they won’t give respect to human being complaints.i made 15 times call but still now not yet.

    To whom so ever it may concern,

    I am Shantanu puranik one of the customer of Hathway internet who is really frustrated with the service from first day of installation.

    I have already launched a complaint regarding my usage ID i cant see my usage with provided Id on Hathway internet site ID which was given by Hathway itself its (shantanupuranik08@hathway.com).

    Can any responsible person will look in to this and get back to me with the proper information how to activate or if any other process is there please inform me.

    If Hathway internet can call me for renewal of the connection why cant your company solve my problem I really wondered that this kind of service can provide by any internet company.

    Hope this E-mail will give you the idea whats the problem exactly i am facing right now.

    Suggestions to improve your service

    1) Proper communications service (Currently its too bad)
    2) Proper handling of complaints (Currently its not happening)
    3) Fulfill the customer commitments ( Currently its no where standing)

    After all this i will really appreciate if any reply on this or any call on this to me from your compnay.
