Yahoo Messenger 7 Beta India version

I have been using Yahoo Messenger 7 Beta Indian version for last 3-4 days, its pretty cool…specially Hindi Audibles…..and I also liked their new feature “Drag-and-drop file transfer “, which makes sending file much more easier…

Following is the list of features…

  • Drag-and-drop file transfer
  • Audibles that talk your language
  • Interesting avatars
  • Contact cards for one-click communication and access to Address Book
  • Easier access to Yahoo! Search
  • Indicators for new Yahoo! Mail
  • Coming soon new tabs for Cricket, Indian stocks and more

The known issues include

  • On Windows ME, there are intermittent crashes when you sign out and sign back in. To avoid crashes, completely exit Yahoo! Messenger and sign back in.
  • File transfer between the Yahoo! Messenger Beta and earlier versions of Yahoo! Messenger are not supported.

and it crashes on my XP too :( but worth giving it a shot…

UPDATE: If you are not able to see Hindi Audibles even after installing Indian version, then check your yahoo profile and make sure that Location is set to India, if not then change it to India, save it and relogin to messenger… It should show the Hindi Audibles now :)

    If you want to get hindi audibles and voice chat or PC to Pc calls,you have to download asia yahoo messanger instead of india messanger….even asia messanger also contains hindi audibles…and pc to pc calls facility….before installing this messanger you have to uninstall the previous messanger software from your computer otherwise they may mix up with one another and there are chances you can’t get latest version of yahoo messanger….

    Here i will give the step wise procedure to install asia yahoo messanger…just follow my steps..sure you will get hindi audibles…

    Go to start->settings->control panel…there select add/remove programs…there select yahoo messanger…then select to remove yahoomessanger…this will uninstall yahoomessanger from your system…then go to http://asia.yahoo.com/,there click messanger icon which you will see at the right most corner of the site….then click the get it now button…which will automatically start installing the asia yahoo messanger….and follow the instruction as said in the installation kit…

    if you follow the above steps..Im sure you will get hindi audibles….

    If any one get any problems in installing this please contact me i will give the details…..if any one interested in installing other countries audibles..please mail me i will provide links for that…

    I will suggest download the international version of the messenger from http://messenger.yahoo.com and instal / update it..

    This will give you call option as well as Hindi Audibles (listed under category International)

    Yahoo mess installations are done at runtime directly through server,
    and if anybody wants a setup for that runtime download then you can get it at http://www.google.co.in
    Try searching there with “yahoo messenger” and select to view only indian pages.
