Tally Customer Support

Very Impressive !!!

In our office we use Tally 7.2 and because of some technical problems I had to call Tally Customer Support couple of times and they were able to solve my problems in minutes….

First I had faced problems at the time of upgrading from 6.3 to 7.2, just called them up, had to wait for 20-25 minutes on the phone but finally someone from their side picked up the phone….I heard a very sweet voice from other side and it made remember about ICICI, they have people with very sweet voice but they are never helpful…haha

But I was wrong this time, she asked for few details and then suddenly told me, go to D drive, go to this folder and you will find one file there…just edit it and replace it with this…your tally should work fine now..

I was shocked….thinking how the hell she knows where is my Tally installed but then later realized that, yes they have some web activation system in 7.2 and that might be sending all info….

But whatever it is, she solved my problems in minutes…

2nd time was recently, when one company’s data file was crashed…

We called up our local vendor first, he gave some instructions on the phone, but nothing happened….we were worried about loosing the data, the backup we had was 3-4 days old…..

We called up Tally customer support, this time it took less time and again I heard a very sweet voice…but this time I was confident that my problem will get solved….and she managed to fix the problem…

I talked to her for around 15-20 minutes on the phone, tried few things and finally we got our data back, only few entries were lost but that is ok compared to loosing whole data…

So moral of the story, they rock….very good software and very impressive customer support…just need to make sure that customer wait time is less… :)

    By any chance have you installed any new printer or fax after using tally if so remove the same it will start working

  6. previously i have upgraded tally from 6.3 to 7.2 v 2.1 its worked fine till 20/4/2006. But today when i started the tally i got the error msg ” Exiting TALLY, Internal Error. Contact tally solution. Software exception c0000005(Memory Access Violaton)”

    Can anybody provide me the help to solve this problem?

  11. Dear Lakshmi,

    copy the data folder from server to any good client PC and check it.
    while doing so please make sure to change the data path in tally.ini file.

  13. We are using tally 7.2 multiuser ,data is on 2000 Prof IBM Server. when clients running tally it gets vey slow and become hang even they try to save the 2-3 entries.
    wht may be the pbmm? any solution?

    Contact data recovery expert they will help u out.
    or restore with latest backup and start keying in remaining data.

    U cannot trust tally database …. U must daily take backup of ur database

    This is the problem many of the users are facing esp in tally 7.2 ver

    kindly check the following things
    1) Are you able to ping with the server.
    2) If u are using Internet through proxy server , kindly disable it.
    3)check the tally.ini file in c:\tally directory

  17. hi i am a user of tally 7.2 multiuser what the problem i am facing that usually tally on client machine bacomes educational and gives a massege unable to get licence from licence server. we called up a local vender’s engg for it and he did something but could not solve the problem and said your window has currpedt so you have to formate still we are facing this problem i want to know whether he was right on his statement can it possible .

    Net Balance Credit Rs. 5,000-00

    how can i get the above said report? is there any way?

  34. We have Tally 7.2 multiuser software installed on Windows Xp (SP2) machine. Uptil now the clients were able to connect to the system and everything was fine.
    But since yesterday it is showing Tally EDUCATIONAL license on all the clients….
    any clues please?

    ‘line 367 : The Cost centre ’service-w.I’ does not belong to the category ‘Primary Cost category ‘

    Can anyone help me out.

  38. Looking at the post on your blog, i feel they assume you can help them with the problems they have with Tally. Suggest mention them that they need to speak to Tally Support for help. Also mention the support details.

Hello ,we have tally 7.2 multiuser and win 98 is a client OS and windows 2000 server with TAlly lock.Now we upgraded some systems to XP.In windows XP the problem i am facing that after installation of tally i can able to login and logout for the first time but once i restarted the system i am not getting the connection.if again install and configured tally then only iam getting the connection.It is showing the serial number but not connected to the server.

  53. THERE ARE 13300 VOUCHERS, 240 GROUPS AND 2648 LEDGER ACCOUNTS. THE PROBLEM I AM FACING IS THAT WHENEVER THE RECONCILITATION DATES ARE FED IN THE BRS SCREEN AND TRY TO SAVE, IT IS TAKING HOURS TOGETHER WITH NO CERTAINITY OF THE VOUCHERS GETTING SAVED.

    One of my friend is using tally7.2 and using 9 pin and 24 pin epson printers to print the reports. layout is entirely different in these 2 different printers, 24 pin prints fine but the layout and quality of the characters are very low in 9 pin printer.
    Is 9 pin printer not recommanded for printing?

  64. Tally starts up well but does not quit on XP sp2. Just does not show the yes/no confirmation when it should. Looks like that box is hidden under the main window. Re-installed XP with SP2, deleted the old Tally folders, installed a fresh 7.2.3 but still the same problem. Have to end task to quit. Changed the permissions for the Tally folders to Everyone - Full Control, updated VGA drivers and even tried the Compatibility Mode for Tally.exe but no luck. Any one had this problem and solved it?

  73. you can install Tally in Xp system, but you may only face the problem in printing in Dos mode as you cant make Custom page settings for DOT matrix printers in XP.
