Warning: Lengthy post ahead
I am seriously fed up of them…I just hate them….their customer support just sucks…they have no knowledge at all…after facing couple of problems earlier, I thought they will improve but NO, they will NEVER…
As mentioned in my earlier post about their new facility about Card2Card transfer in current account, I finally got their mail saying, the problem has been solved, so I used it again this month but again my funds got rejected…
Now I felt like they were testing my patience…I wrote firing mail to them asking what is happening, why this happened again….now I got their reply saying I did not fill my credit card number fully…according to them, I had filled only 4 digit for the card number.
So I decided to cross check it, so I tried to edit the card number…I did not allow me to edit it….so that option is ruled out…I tried to add card number with 4 digits, it did not allow me…so that option is also ruled out…
So what is left? Someone from their side did it purposely or some technical error….I sent them the screenshot which I had mailed them in my previous query where it showed the valid card number….
I got their reply next day, explaining how to enter the card number in card2card option…I was like WTF is this? I replied back saying what the hell you are replying….do you guys ever care to read the earlier replies? I again got reply explaining the same i.e. how to enter card number… (Query IDs for ref: SR40310578, SR40313057, SR40320602, SR40327596, SR40332452)
I finally got fed up with them and said…please close this ticket, I will use my old method i.e. will deposit the cheque in drop down box…
Now 2 days back again I faced new problem….I was not able to transfer funds to any other accounts….
I asked them about the reason….and this is what I got in reply……
Thank you for routing your query through Corporate Care, ICICI Bank. As you are aware Corporate Internet Banking, facilitates you to view as well as effect online fund transfers to any account in ICICI Bank. One of the option for fund transfer, was the Third Party Fund Transfer facility, through which you can transfer funds to any account in ICICI Bank. Since in Third Party Fund Transfer, there is no prior registration, a wrong data entry by you can lead to an inadvertant fund transfer to a wrong beneficiary. In view of this, we are requesting our customers use the Own to External fund transfer facility, where the beneficiary account is registered and linked to your login by the Bank. In order to link the beneficiary accounts to your login, please give us a letter as per the attached format. The needful linking of the same shall be done on receipt of the same after which you can proceed with funds transfer to such accounts. Also please note the user DEEPPGANATRA is not registered for the Own to External Funds Transfer facility. For activation of the above facility for your account,we request you to submit a request on the company letterhead signed by authorised signatories mentioning: 1) Your existing Corporate Id. 2) User Id 3) Access Option required “Own To External Funds Transfer. 4) User limits in numeric terms. You may submit the both the letters (Credit Mandate letter specifying the beneficiary account numbers) and the letter requesting for Own to External Funds Transfer facility at your base branch or scan copy attachment may be sent to corporatecare@icicibank.com. Looking forward to your co-operation in the interim.
(Query ID for Ref: R40338333 )
Now I have no idea what they said, they just want me to write then f***ing letter with some own to external transfer facility…and that too AGAIN…
I was using their transfer facility for last 4-5 months without any problems and suddenly it stopped working, no one cared to notify me about it…
Now why the hell they can’t just activate it for god sake? My third party transfer was already active, I never asked them to discontinue it and now they want to me send another letter to activate this new sh!t…and again it will take f****ng 7 days
Sometimes I seriously feel that national banks are much better than these banks, in national banks, you get things so easily and quickly….
This will be the best example….I have savings account with Saraswat Bank also, I needed new cheque book, so I went to the bank, asked the lady for the cheque book, she gave me one form and asked me to fill with the details…I submitted the form…waited for hardly 5 minutes and got the cheque book…
Then I went to ICICI, I have savings account there too…I asked them for the cheque book, she gave me the form, I submitted it…and she told me that, they will deliver the cheque book within 7 working days…I was like, what the hell? I am asking you for the cheque book not loan that you are taking so much time…..
I got my cheque book within 5-6 working days…
So what was the difference? Saraswat Bank one did not have my name printed on it where ICICI one had it…
That’s the only difference I could find…
Now if you think logically, who is going to read the printed name? Who cares? No one, all we care is proper signature and the amount; so having name printed on it does not make any difference…and I suppose that is the only thing which takes so much of time for cheque book to arrive…
What I suggest to the Bank is, instead of spending money on ads, spend some money in hiring smart people, spend some money in hiring a good technical team, group of people who can test out the products before the launch…so issues like card2card transfer does not arise at all….
Spend some amount on knowing what customers need, spending amount on ads like Acha Lagta hai and all is not going to make any difference…
Viewers will get attracted to the ads and open the account but after using it they will really feel kita acha lagta hai ICICI ke saath
I am also looking out for some better banks now, considering HSBC as a good option…anyone has account with them?

I had most frustating experience in banking with ICICI Money2India.
I forgot my password & requested them for it. They provided me temporary password couple of times & none of it seem to work.
They also sent my DOB (confidential information) in the email, to the response of my request for new password, which is quite ridiculous.
Inspite of all that fuss & unwanted information, entering into my oooooooowwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnn account has become impossible.
Final Advice I got from the customer service representative is create a new userid (funny) & request a cancellation for the old user id.
One stupid customer Service personnel, advises me to wire transfer it, if I am badly in need.
The emails don’t reflect response to what U’r needs, but a tight lipped, standard response.
Sometimes, I strongly feel enough with ICICI, but is there any alternative.

Dear Sunny,
Please use onlinesbi.com/gls. There rates are much better than ICICI. The only thing is they will e-mail or call you. Everthing must be entered correctly before processing any transaction. If there is an error in transaction like benefeciary account number and name, then you will get the call from SBI Mumbai and it will be corrected. Please try with small amount and feel happy. ICICI cheats and sucks!!!

I was trying to find a site to put complaint against ICICI Bk as my message to them was not replied to my mail on some charges correctly. But just now while typing this complaint I received a call from their customer service desk informing me about the charges they had taken. Well I was satisfied but first I was astonished to get a call from ICICI Bk hahaha…. Bosss I guess they care … dont know about some of you guys there on this site but in my case yes I will continue with ICICI Bk. Well I had bad experiences with SBI & HDFC. Those trying nationised banks try Bank Of India its better.

you are 100% right. icici bank is the worst bank in the whole world

Their brokerage rate is highest in India and Thailand, no idea about other countries.
I , as an NRI , sold over 15 years held shares through “ICICIDirect.com†and they deducted tax presuming this to be short term capital gain , although I had submitted documents to their (ICICI’s customer service) satisfaction (I have confirmatory Email) ,within their specified time frame.
After long Email & telephonic correspondence , over 7~8 months with several (I repeat several ) ICICI officers , the TDS was refunded partially.
I am still waiting for an explanation for the balance and the reason for such deduction !

Recently,
I availed a loan for purchasing a Maruti car in Trivandrum, Kerala. The
dealer suggested an agent and he was from ICICI, that is
why I went with ICICI.The bad part is that he told an interest rate of
9.5 % during the talks and in the end it turned out to be 11.5%. Always
they will talk to you only in terms of EMI paid. Not only that, the
bank charged interest for my first installment also which was with the
down payment.
I told the agent of my intention
to close the loan soon. He guaranteed me that I can close it after six
months, and there will be no fore closure penalty provided if one pays with out
default for the first six months. This was all false, I paid the
penalty and by this false clause of waiting for six months the agent made me wait till six months simply paying interest, The major chunk of the monthly EMI is interest, the principal
paid is very less.
I should have got the agreement and checked but Somehow they delay the copy of agreement given it to
you and by that time the vehicle is out of the showroom. Never thought that a bank like ICICI will stoop to the level of a third rate cheat. The name of
the agent is Ratheesh .

Dear Dictators / ICICI’s
What began as a trustworthy to simplify the home loans a decade ago, now the ICICI showing its true colour of squeezing majority of Indians hard earned money being swindled inadvertently.
There were nationalized banks had schematic home loan operations, which helped wage-based living personals to large extent and the money utilized with sincerity of the purpose.
The advent of ICICI with its latent plans, blunting the Home Loans segment of the public sector banks (PSB) in imperils to its customer-base and quit eventually transferred to ICICI pretext.
By giving Home Loan (HL) at 2% lesser than 13.5%, charged by PSBs public has been attracted and attached their loans to ICICI and new HL also greatly swelled at this private bank.
Thus made the PSBs to together revamp their customer-base by lessoning the interest rate to keep the HL section abreast, to some extent only it proved prerogative.
When themselves have yoked majority of India and its people to this ICICI, the average earnings 60% being paid as EMI, 15years in aggregate in which the ratio of principal and total part is 2:5.
· Majority of hard earned money with ICICI
· All the Properties pledged to ICICI
· When payment is crippled manhandled by ICICI
· All the agreement at the discretion of ICICI
It is here intended to mention that the PSBs not ignored the above-mentioned things, nonchalantly the public has been provided with an opportunity to interact with local / branch personals and arrive at satisfactory compulsions. In this point ICICI approached people only up to market and sales levels that to through their agencies, and once the public in their grasp, put the tunes and the dunes of ICICI on their marks and one-sided.
To establish the market the ICICI was benign to public, cared and gave loans at remarkably lowered interest rate. If ICICI is in same frequency now and really bold and beautiful why the interest rates are greater than any other bank in conglomerate
Why not the ICICI practice the principle a decade ago with which it attracted the public to amass its business and amassed now a greater proportion of hard-earned Indian money on lavish.
If they mean and glance through the ICICI had care towards its public, and now having established what they profound and treat indifferently the customers that they no longer belong to assert decorum.

I have 4 sb Accounts with ICICI ,Credit card as well as
trading account.I have started banking with ICICI since year 2001.I have been enjoying excellent banking facilities provided by them.Online money tranfers (both domestic and international),bill pay,ATM facilities etc and I feel ICICI Bank is the best in the business. In between I banked with ABN amro, hdfc, and citi banks and I don not have any hesitation in telling ICICI is better.OF course some time I sufeered with minor problems. But thru proper channel I have been able to solve them.
one thing I would like to add just keep your records straight while banking with new generaion banks and private telecom operators.

I had two fixed deposit in ICICI bank, M.G Road Branch Blr. Just to break the FD, bank took 16 (Sixteen) working days to transfer the amount to my a/c. Every alternate day I was going to bank to check the status. Finally I told them If the amount is not transfered today then I will complain to Banking Ombudsman. Only then my problem was resolved.
I have another FD in one of the nationalized bank & there it took 20 mins only.
ICICI has so many ways to cheat customer, I transfered the credit card balance amount online from my ICICI bank to ICICI credit card. Next day when I tried to use my ICICI credit card it declined. Called Cust Care they told me that it will take 72 hours to reflect into credit card. Now can you believe that Online transfer will take 72 hours from the same bank????? Actually they use our money for different purpose. And that’s how they are.

Hi,
My experience with in opening in NRI account with ICICI bank was very bad expecially with the customer support and corresponding docs (pwd letters etc) transfer.
When dealing with customer support we feel they will defenetly solve the problem. but in real they can not. It taken !!!!!! 4 months !!!!!!! to open my account(my bad luck i send 500 dollors in the first time it self). By reading all the mails above now i am also thinking that they may used the 500 dollors 4 interest. May be this is the reason for their 4 months delay in creating simple account (which should not take more than 20 days).

How to tackle ICICI

Anoop Jun 4 How to tackle ICICI
Hi,
It is true ICICI has worst customer services in India. It is better to expose ICICI in front of public using these forums and other sources. You may start writing complaints to following ICICI contacts as well as put RBI and other authorities in cc. This will put pressure on them. It is also better to bring the facts to media. In many cases it is better to lodge a FIR against ICICI staff and head of ICICI- Mr. kamath.
Don’t count on info. provided by ICICI staff on such forums!!! You may also find thousand of ICICI victims by just searching(ICICI sucks) on Google search engine.
You may contact Suman Das, Head customer service or/and following other email id’s.
suman.das@icicibank.com
coo@icicibank.com
kamath.kv@icicibank.com (K.V. Kamath - Head of ICICI)
You may ask RBI intervention as follows. Here is link for filing complaint in banking obudsman.

But make sure that you have escalated to Nodal officer before filing complaint in banking ombudsman. Also here is contact details of RBI officer for further assistance for Mumbai Region.

Rest you decide. After all, its your money!

Hi,
I do agree that ICICI sucks. I do have accounts with ICICI.I think people should use this bank as a current account to get access to fetch money from ATMs.
I also agree that HSBC is the best bank for internet banking and its safe too.
You may be talking about just ICICI Bank, but I had problems with my ICICI CAR Loan after disbursement.
Though I used to pay them as PDCs on time, there were a bunch of 3rd Party ignorant zombies who used to be calling me and my family every month asking me to pay my EMI which was already being paid.
When I investigated internally I found that the strategy of ICICI is to grow the customer base and dont bother of customer service. One fine day they would be like Microsoft where one cannot avoi using it and hence have to pay for the defects and bugs in the software.
So the bottom line to remember is ICICI is a One way Street if you do not use it your advantage, it will get you someday.
Basically use it as a ‘Hole in the Wall’ for daily cash dispensation and judicious spend.
And for guys abroad use a combination of HSBC and ICICI to flush your moola to India.
Cheers!!

ICICI is the best bank ever. The most satisfied customers are those who are willing to listen. If you make a call and start barking on the guy on the other side, it won’t help.As far as issuing cheque book is concerned, one will blame the bank again if cheque book is handed over to some other person.that’s why it is send to the address that is regd. many people use the landline phones provided by icici bank at atm’s and their office phones to make call to customer care. take care to read the appl for credit cards before applying. If we insist on filling the forms ourselves rather than by agents, we will have fewer problems as all inf about chgs is given in the form itself. WE can always find loopholes but one has to put them forward in a constructive way so as to help the bank and the community as well.
05-Jul-2007 at 11:16 pm
ICICI bank is best bank???????? Its a good joke. I might be the best for bank agents & staffs not for CUSTOMERs. ICICI bank violated many RBI rules, RBI also written so many alarm points to this bank that they cheat customers.

Here is a recent story.
Y Yadaiah, 42, an electrician in the state medical and health department, had defaulted on a Rs 15,000 personal loan he had taken from ICICI Bank a few months ago.
Police inspector G Narasaiah said one Raju from Elite Financial Services — the loan-recovery agency which has a contract with ICICI Bank — along with some others, picked up Yadaiah from his office on Friday. Sunanda, the wife, said
Yadaiah had called her up sometime later, saying the recovery agents had detained him at their office. “He was told he would not be allowed to leave until he returned the money,†she said. Around 2 pm, Sunanda received a message from a hospital saying her husband had died.
Then ICICI Bank comes back and says this.
The ICICI bank said on Sunday that the 42-year-old Andhra Pradesh government employee, who had taken a loan from it, died after he felt “unwell†at the office of its debt recovery agency in Hyderabad.
One would be inclined to give benefit of doubt to the bank but then if you also see this then you start thinking what kind of bank is this, people go there and start dying like flies.
This is the second incident in the last month in Nashik, where a person lost his life due to al leged harassment by recovery agents.
Suresh Chaudhari, a 54-year-old mechanic, died on the premises of ICICI Bank on January 13. His family alleged that the death was caused due to harassment by agents. The police filed cases against three ICICI Bank employees.
Recovery tactics employed by banks are increasingly coming under the scanner. The SC, on January 7, had strongly deplored the practice of financial institutions using musclemen to recover loans from defaulters and asserted that recovery of loans should be through legal means.
Some more.
Close to a fortnight after the Supreme Court deplored the use of musclemen to recover loans from alleged defaulters, 42-year-old computer engineer Manish Rajguru passed away due to the alleged use of strong-arm tactics and mental harassment by recovery agents of Nashik Merchant Co-operative Bank.
“We were facing increased harassment from the banks employees as well as the recovery agents deployed by the bank during the last one month. Manish had been tense and nervous due to the behavior of the recovery agents who would barge into our house and abuse us. The tension proved too much for him and yesterday he suddenly collapsed and passed away. I hold the bank responsible for his death,†Manish’s wife Dr Devang Rajguru a MD in Pathology told HT.
Manish’s death was caused by cerebral haemorrhage. Manish is survived by two children and a cancer afflicted mother.
Not that it is an isolated incident. Here are some more barrage of cribs.
I cant help but credit ICICI bank for coming up with the punch line “hum hain na†apko loot ne ke liye…
Here is one more.
The very next day he had deposited the cheque in his account in the ICICI Bank, Mayur Vihar. When, after a few days, he checked with the bank, he found the cheque had not been credited to his account. He immediately contacted Vijaya Bank, Noida, which had issued the cheque.
Imagine Manoj’s shock when he learnt that the cheque had been encashed. It was found that his name had been struck off and that of `Suresh Kumar’ had been written instead. The overwriting on the cheque had been clearly endorsed by fresh signature of the issuing person at two places.
Manoj has lodged a complaint with the Noida as well as the Delhi police while bank officials are maintaining a silence on the issue.
Here is another laundry list of problems.
But one things has to be said about them, they are not racist. They are trying to cheat every country equally. See here.
There are several reasons. The main one is that, despite having a presence in the UK for three years, ICICI Bank still do not comply with the UK Banking Code, which sets minimum standards for customer service. The second reason - related to the first - is that there is a load of anecdotal evidence that customers are still struggling to receive passwords, to have money transfers happen on time and of people generally tearing their hair out trying to get their savings sorted.
So, in the end what do I have to say about it. You become a customer of ICICI bank, they will abduct and get you into their office and then you will die and it will be a natural death. Why senior management of the bank are not taken to task for doing such goofy things. Why are they above law. At times I feel that reason that they have grown so much is because they are above law.
Here is another bright idea that I have, if you take loan with ICICI bank then take a really large pure term insurance policy also with them so that if they claim in the end that your death was natural, they would atleast have to pay for it.

Glad to find so many people think the same about ICICI as I do. My experience with ICICI has been even modest terms, horrible. For years I have been asking for online banking username and password but they just dont care! The cc guy at desk says I need to apply online, the website says I need to submit the application in the branch or call 2 hour which neither me nor anyone that I know has gotten through ! And to top them all, the link that supposedly leads to feedback form for filing complains returns a time-out error!!!
Even today I had problem while adding my card to paypal account because my bank declined and paypal advised me to talk to customer care. nobody in the office (must be a dozen people )knows what is wrong.
Im quitting ICICI but I want them to know why they are losing a long-time customer, can someone tell me how?

Official comment from ICICI Bank regarding a customer’s demise in Hyderabad
This is in reference to the recent news reports of the demise of Mr. Y. Yadaiah, a defaulting ICICI Bank loans customer in Hyderabad, and the spate of comments on this blog.
1. Ladies and gentlemen, let us emphasize that we are an intrinsic part of the community; and our employees are from all socio economic backgrounds – backgrounds similar to those of some of us blogging here. So we have similar emotions and therefore all of us feel the same way. Our employees as individuals have a conscience too, and our employees frame and implement policies.
2. We must say that in this case, THE REALITY IS FAR DIFFERENT FROM WHAT HAS BEEN REPORTED. The agency in question has been working with us for over a year, and has no track record of any issues. The agency’s version is that the customer was sitting in the reception area and collapsed. The customer was a defaulter by seven months. He had left the original address and had gone untraceable for many months. Our agency traced him out at the new address. His wife was at home. She informed the customer. The customer came to the agency’s office make payment. While there, he just collapsed. Our collection agency had not even touched him let alone done anything to hurt him. They are categorical in their denial. It may be a natural death (perhaps illness or otherwise before going to the agency’s office); we don’t know. In fact, the agency used their presence of mind and took him to a private hospital nearby and also called the police. This is our understanding at the moment. Investigation continues, and we will get to know more when it’s completed.
3. We are not sure whether this is known, but even without our getting into the facts of the case, and pending any investigation, we paid the customer’s family an ex-gratia amount of Rs. 15 lac. This was a good gesture made merely because this was a rare and serious incident. This is the first time an incident of death had occurred with one of our customers, and we didn’t know how else to help. At that stage, whether the agency was at fault or otherwise, we just didn’t know. We had the agency’s pleadings and strong denials. Logic seemed to tell us that nobody could be killed, period. Yet to provide whatever solace money could, we paid this amount voluntarily and instantly. This does not in any way suggest any implication of the agency.
4. Now for a generic comment; not particularly related to this case. When an incident like this happens (whether because of the fault of the bank or otherwise), many vested interests, even from outside the family, begin to play a role. Many actually educate the family that if they stick to a claim or a particular line of argument, they could extract money by threatening the bank that they would go to the media and so on. We have heard of many instances where unscrupulous people have struck deals with the party concerned to partake in settlements. There are instances when a vehicle was repossessed by us, and the customer said that he was going to allege that “goondas” and musclemen were used and that the car had Rs. 1 lac in it. The media loves a story like this as it makes nice headlines. When our people indignantly tell such defaulters, “You know this is not true”, the customer / his advisor responds with, “I know it’s not true. But I will raise it with the media… you explain to them.” This, unfortunately, is the reality. Once a story breaks, many others pile on to it (precisely what the extortionists want), and then it becomes a sequence of arguments and counter-arguments. Well-meaning people like you feel outraged.
We must therefore say that certain defaulters misuse the power of publicity. It would be unfair if we said there are never any issues. There could be, but they are the exception. Certainly, none as serious as this. This kind of thing is not endorsed by anyone. We put systems in place to ensure that complaints are looked into, the root cause understood and then take action if we find there is a lapse by any agency.
5. So what do we do now? We train our collection agencies very well. We have an extremely well documented code of conduct, which is practised by our agencies. Our employees themselves go through this code of conduct. This code of conduct is based on international best practices. We have systems and audits to check that our employees practise it.
6. We are in a service industry. We treat collection as a service. One can never be rude in a service industry. Our supervisors tell their employees, “If we don’t treat our customers well, we can’t remain in the service business.†We understand this very well. They all understand this. All talk of goons in reports is completely unfounded and misplaced. These terms are conveniently used by defaulters to put pressure on the banks.
7. Given the present regulations pertaining to debt recovery, collection agencies are an integral part of the Indian banking system. Outsourced collection agencies are the way collection is done the world over, including in developed countries like the USA. Collection agencies aid the banking system in maintaining low levels of bad debts, which ensures that banks are able to keep lending activities going and the cost of loans low.
8. It is also our responsibility to bring out the implications of these kinds of tactics by defaulters. After decades, Indian banks have started lending to the lower end of the economic pyramid. Organized banking in India is just about taking root. The loan that this customer took – called small personal loan – is targeted at customers with income of Rs. 3,000 per month. Customers belonging to this profile default more. The lower-income group is today starving for credit and availing of loans from unorganized markets and private financiers. There are many instances where rates are in the region of 100% to 365% per annum. In the case of some unorganized lenders, it’s even higher. Fruit vendors for example borrow under a scheme called “9-10 Schemeâ€, meaning, they borrow 9 rupees in the morning with the condition that they return 10 rupees in the evening. That’s 10% per day. Annualized, this works out to over 3,600%! Well, incredible, but true. Some of these segments do default more. For example in the urban areas, the loss rate for home loans is only 0.2%, for car loans, 1%, but in this category of small personal loans, it is 10%-15%. These loans have a tendency to have such collection-related incidents, because you’ve got to make proactive efforts to collect the dues from them.
When such issues are blown out of proportion, there will be a tendency among banks to clamp up and lend to the better economic strata only. This is not good for the welfare of the lower-income segment. You may say you don’t care, just focus on the issue now at hand. But please spare a thought before you say that. When good brands and an organized banking system enter this market, it will bring the lower-income segment into the organized banking grid and help them meet their credit needs. Over time, with good repayment records, they will get loans at lower rates from the banking system.
9. We must point out the following also:
· ICICI Bank has given loans to 30 lac (3 million) customers for small amounts ranging from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 10,000. We must explain that these customers are entering the banking system for the first time. It’s easy for us to stay away because in absolute portfolio “value†they may not add up to much. Yet, we have chosen not to.
· We are opening over 1,000 accounts every day, in the lower-income segment, in far flung areas like the North-East, West Bengal and Orissa.
· We are giving them a platform to make remittances, saving them very significant monies that they pay to intermediaries.
· We are providing loans to low-income segments through some slum-dweller associations.
· Our subsidiary companies (though they are independent companies) have provided health insurance to over 20 lac people, at an insurance premium of under Rs. 1,000 per year for a family of five, in a model that we believe will be sustainable.
10. We know we have a lot more to do. A lot of what is described above is delivered through channels and their partners. We will continue to face issues as we explore the models. And when we succeed, the payoffs to India, the common Indian and the lower economic strata will be very significant.
All the same, we are sure we will face issues. For example, who knows we may face issues from the intermediaries delivering loans to any one or more of the 30 lac customers described above. If we get lambasted in this manner, we will be forced to clam up. You may say, “Put better systems in place.†We agree. We are trying our best controls and the result is the low percentage of complaints. Despite our best efforts, some incidents may happen. In such cases, we need your indulgence and encouragement.
11. We collect dues from millions of customers every quarter. Because our systems are good and audited, these incidents are very, very rare. And that too sometimes misunderstood or misrepresented as in this case. In fact, we put so much focus on good collection practices that they meet the Six Sigma standard on complaints and escalations on collection issues. We have a service culture ingrained in our team. We sincerely request you to trust us on this one, as we are acutely aware that we are in the service industry.
12. We are striving to be a global bank, and a globally respected bank at that – a bank that India and Indians will be proud of. We will build it with, and only with, the goodwill of our customers and the community around us. We need your support, we really do. Without your support, we can’t go far. Please don’t haul us over the coals at the first available opportunity; this is our humble request. We are doing our best to bring world-class banking to India, and to take banking to segments that have never experienced banking before. Meanwhile we need your indulgence, encouragement, and support in our initiatives to reach this segment.
We understand your feelings. We feel the same way. We are one of you.
With sincere wishes to all of you well-meaning people,
ICICI Bank

ICICI never accepts their faults. See the comments from the customer here. As per the ICICI service team, all the customers are wrong, but the ICICI team is clan. ICICI team please look inside first how you guys are doing service, do not blame customers. I also know how ICICI send the local GUNDA/bad elements to customer’s house.
Why supreme court has issued warning to ICICI fo not following the legal procedure to recover the money.
Why the person should be detained by the recovery agent? Indian police or law is not there? I think ICICI does not have faith on our police & Law system. That is the reason they send their so called own recovery agents (but actually these agents are local Gunda people).

Respected People,
I NEED YOUR SUPPORT……
I have been continuously Tortured, Harassed or being Rammed by ICICI Bank Ltd. I have been suffering with MENTAL HARASSMENT from the kind of situation ICICI Bank has put me into, these harassment’s are getting effected to my personal life and ambiance in my family, any damage or extreme caused to my life due this mental tension all the responsibilities lie on ICICI Bank, and I will be claiming this directly to the ICICI Bank with exposing this to the outside world. If ICICI Bank respects an individual’s problem then one has to go thru the complete mail. If not you can stop reading it further.
I accept the fact that I had an outstanding on my ICICI Bank Credit Card No. 5176 5335 6624 9006 due to some personal problems I was not able to pay the minimum balance on my card every time, but to maintain the track I had at least been paying the minimum requirement to keep the payment schedule active,
Without even intimating me I was suddenly charged by leaning my Savings Bank Account No. 000701242642 and this has led to freeze of my funds available in the account, due to this my EMI’s of 3 other Loans from ICICI Bank only had to be returned, I had no money to honor the regular commitments which every family will have on the 1st week of every month, I had requested for the settlement of this card account almost 3 and Half months back only, none of the ICICI Bank Employees have reverted back with the offer,
After contacting the Customer Care center to know about the details of minus balance shown on my net banking I had contacted Mr. Gerald Ruben from your Bangalore Collections Department to check as how to resolve this issue, after discussing various matters, on 5th July 07 I have even sent him a mail to revert back on the settlement, but as usual there was no reply on that day, I called several times to his land phone number but it was always just ringing with NO Answer or somebody else picks up to say Mr. Gerald is not in the seat,
On 6th July I had been to the Collections department of ICICI Bank Ltd in 3rd Floor of Raheja Building, MG Road, Bangalore, after making me wait for almost 1&Half hour they replied stating this case is been handled by Delhi Team and then they gave me Mr.Jitender’s number to resolve, I tried to reaching him several times but a lady used to pickup and say he is not in the seat or out for a meeting, finally when I could get him on line it was late 8.30 in the evening, after knowing the whole issue he said this case doesn’t come under his portfolio and forwarded his call to Mr. Amit,
I spoke to Mr.Amit & conveyed all the problem I was facing due to the lean happened in my account, he finally decided to settle my account with 4 equal installments with a settlement figure of Rs.1,08,000/- i.e. Rs. 27,000/- on each installment, I took his mail ID and asked him to revert back with the offer and settlement breakup with a copy of settlement letter, but till now I have not received any reply for the same, I have been continuously calling him following up with the lean, but he never bothered to revert back with a single line reply to the mail sent to him,
And now on 9th July I found that my another account No. 029601000410 operated in Bangalore is also been leaned with the same amount, I wanted to know as why ICICI Bank is leaning 2 accounts for a settlement of 1 Credit Card account, the lean out of the both account is coming up to Rs.2,46,000/- I don’t understand why is ICICI Bank so desperate to Harass an Individual to the extreme, for a settlement of Rs.1,08,000/- why are you blocking 2,46,000/- what is the intention behind this ?
I was not a person who was not at all accessible for discussing on my Credit Card settlement, I have no intentions to cheat bank and runaway like other lakhs of people who have cheated the bank, ICICI Bank don’t get bothered to harass them but in turn they want to harass the people who are genuine in their relationship, you are ready to right off the payments of non traceable cheaters and show it as bad debts of the bank, but you want to grab that losses from the people who are trying to build strong relationship with ICICI Bank, I have come across of so many agencies struggling to skip trace the people who have not been accessible to the bank, I was never such a customer, I have so many relationship with ICICI Bank, my Savings accounts are ICICI, my CAR Loan is from ICICI, my 2 Personal Loans are from ICICI, I have a Demat account from ICICI, I have a Prudential Life Insurance from ICICI, I had even applied for ICICI Lombard Health Insurance from ICICI, with having so many relationship how could your BANK suspect that this customer is not genuine and start giving mental tension and harassment.
Do you know that ICICI Lombard also has tortured me without giving my health policy for almost 6 months, On 18th January 2007 when I had been to the Bangalore Rajajinagar Branch ICICI Bank for some personal transaction, I was offered a GENERAL INSURANCE covering a HELTH POLICY, this policy was covering Full Family Health Insurance for 2 Years with a maximum claim amount of Rs.2,00,000/-, Initially I had no interest in taking this policy, I was forced by an Executive by your executives to utilize the benefits of this policy, as the same will be also be TAX exempted in this financial year. With all good faith on the policy and with the big name of ICICI Lombard General Insurance I had to take this policy, they got an application filled then and there and took a Debit Voucher signed by me for the A/c of ICICI Lombard, surprisingly this debit was done instantly from my account and I received an SMS alert even before I had left the branch.
After the money vanishing from my account on 18th January 2007, the ICICI Lombard General Insurance company has happily slept on processing my policy, every time I visit the branch I use to ask about my policy, the executive who got this process was never available to check the status nor I was given any receipt to follow up the status, I had complained about this even to the Branch Manager of that Rajajinagar Branch, he also followed up with the ICICI Lombard General Insurance team to let me know the status at the earliest, the reply from their end was absolutely NIL.
Where as the other side of the story is, on 16th May 2007 I have received a letter (Attached) from ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd. stating my Cheque No.108525 for Rs. 7481/- has been dishonored by my Bank. and under this circumstance they cannot process my HEALTH POLICY, where as this amount has been debited from my account on 18th January 2007 only and against this debit there was NO CHEQUE ISSUED towards the same, you can go thru the account to confirm the same for your reference, after bombarding them on the phone and doing an hardcore follow up, this was an embracing reply heard from ICICI Lombard General Insurance. And another interesting part is the Cheque No. which is mentioned on the letter does not belong to me, and this series Cheque No. is not at all issued to me, from the beginning when I opened this account for the transactions I have never got this Series Cheque NO’s in my account, you can also check and clarify the same.
I don’t understand how can company like ICICI Lombard General Insurance having listed as a big professional company for General Insurance can become so unprofessional and cheat people in the name of insurance, when they have received money from some account for some purpose, what are they doing without processing the further proceedings? So if ICICI Bank creates any problem to individual he has to be ready to suffer the consequences, is that what you people expect your customers to be.
If ICICI Lombard General Insurance is troubling people who are alive and planning to use their products to secure their lives, what happens to the people who have trusted them and gone for the insuring themselves, and what happens to the beneficiary people who come for their claims after losing their loved ones, do you think the beneficiary will be treated properly, I DON’T THINK ICICI WILL BENEFIT THEM PROPERLY, this is a Insurance company not a LALA Company to cheat and runaway, people come here and invest with all good faith and the face value of BIG NAME of ICICI in the Market,
What would have happened if I had to claim the Health Policy in this five months period of time, do they know how these kinds of risk affects an individual, have they thought about any of these lines mentioned above, NO! ICICI is least bothered to read such lengthy mails they are a big organization and they know how to handle such cases, unless the people who are frustrated and suffered with such instance take up things seriously, ICICI will not realize the pain behind it,
Even after suffering so much I still believed that these human errors are common and has be accepted, but now I feel that this has to be highlighted in media and make a huge awareness in the market, and wake up the people who have been suffering the mental harassment given by ICICI BANK LTD.
I shall wait for a prompt and positive reply with a proper settlement given on my ICICI Bank Credit card, failing which please don’t think that am an ordinary individual who cannot do any thing, I will some how beg for the help from media and show this world my frustration and mental harassment received from your bank, and I will go to any extent to do the same.
Will wait to hear from you
Regards

Banks can’t use force to recover dues: HC
13 Jul 2007, 0000 hrs IST,TNN
SMS NEWS to 8888 for latest updates
LUCKNOW: In a significant order, the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court on Thursday ruled that a bank, private or nationalised, cannot use force, hire hooligans or gangsters on contract to recover the loan amount.
Hearing a writ petition filed by Vishal Gupta against the ICICI BANK, a division Bench comprising Justice Pradeep Kant and Justice D P Singh asked the bank and its officials to explain as to why appropriate criminal and civil proceedings should not be initiated against them for forcibly taking away the vehicle and for allegations mentioned in the petitioner’s application submitted to the SSP.
The Bench said if there was any such policy in place, the bank should produce it on the next hearing on August 6. Besides, the bank was also asked to clarify the mode of payment and the manner in which such persons were employed and paid, whether on contract basis or commission basis.
In his petition, Vishal Gupta had said that he took loan for a car from the ICICI BANK and committed certain default in its repayment. As a result, the bank officials forcibly took away the vehicle by employing musclemen on June 28. Gupta claimed that the bank now intends to sell off the car. The applications and approaches made to the SSP Lucknow failed to yield any results, he claimed.
Taking note of these facts and the practice of realising the default amount forcibly through musclemen, the Bench observed that the law of the land cannot be given a go-bye and life and movement of property of an individual cannot be put to ransom nor his movement can be restricted against the provisions of law.
Meanwhile, following petitioner’s readiness to repay the loan of Rs 1 lakh, the Bench directed the bank to deposit the amount and return the vehicle forthwith. The Bench SC’s judgment in case of ICICI Bank Ltd Vs Prakash Kaur and others, wherein the apex court had deprecated the conduct of the bank in employing thugs/hooligans/gangsters-on-contract.
According to experts, if the debtor fails to repay the defaulted amount the financing party can only sue the defaulter under civil proceedings to realise such amount.

I think the time has come that ICICI closes its shop and goes out of business because with this level of service ICICI can not survice in market for long anyway. I am currently in US for a couple of month on work. I am trying to add an online payee to transfer some money. I added the account online and called customer service to confirm it. I was told its being confirmed. I checked online, it got rejected. Called second time, I was told to delete the rejeced payee and repeat the process. I did that and called third time. Call got dropped in middle. Called fourth time, got a message “High volume of call, can not attend your call, call later”. Called fifth time, ICICI rep told me that I did not enter my debit card # / pin so I need to call again. I told him that I did enter it. He argued I did not. I said A**hole, who knows better, you or me. He finally agreed that it may be system goofup. He asked me my account #, date of birth, mother’s maiden name, who is nominee on the account, my permanent address and as if all this was not enough he wanted me to tell who introduced me when I opened the account. Bloody this is a 7 year old account and was opened when I joined my current employer. Someone from their HR may have introduced me, becuase ICICI is corporate bank for my employer.. am I supposed to remember that f***ing deatil after 7 years… absurd. Anyway.. he tried to confirm the payee and after 30 minute of all this crap he informed me the system is down so please call later. WOW.. bottomline.. its still pending. I got so worked up, I opened the customer service page on thier website and emailing them all this.. guess what? when I clicked submit, I got the message “system down, please try again later”

Dear sir
I feel to express my appreciation that existed 5 to 7 years back,
just flirted since 4 years, just fed up with total failing assurances.
I just could not find a gentlemen in any of executive that I acquainted with.
I expect a earliest reply as I have to send another set of 10 complaints.
Though it is I am least interested to disturb you but inevitable as things petered out.
Procrastination is the deferment or avoidance of an action or task to a later time. For the person procrastinating this may result in stress, a sense of guilt, the loss of productivity, the creation of crisis, and the chagrin of others for not fulfilling one’s responsibilities or commitments. While it is normal for individuals to procrastinate to some degree, it becomes a problem when it impedes normal functioning. Chronic procrastination may be a sign of an underlying psychological or physiological disorder.
The general feeling with all the banks’ authority, even after prolonged transactions by way of holding accounts, show dismay, dismal and dissimilar mark and remark, when it comes to loan request as required in prudence. It is almost begged out in alms.
One such my experience with ICICI is explained as below. The evil side of every market is exposed.
What is the reply for the following lines to which I can produce evidences within ICICI records
History for the geographical wonder of the Taj Mahal, took thousands of labour & 2 decades of time.
To build my first floor it took 19-Feb-2007 to 23-May-2007 to get financial advance, (as on23-05-2007).

I HAVE A CURRENT ACCOUNT IN ICICI . I WISHED TO GET THE PLAN LIMIT RAISED SO THAT I COULD OBTAIN MORE BENEFITS FROM TRANSACTIONS.
THE STAFF AT MY HOME BRANCH DISADVISED ME THREE TIMES , THEY WERE NOT CLEAR ABOUT THE FORMALITIES .
ULTIMATELY THEY TOLD ME TO DOWNLOAD AN APPLICATION FORMAT , THEY WOULD SEND ME IN E-MAIL AND GET THAT PRINTED ON MY LETTER HEAD.
SO PAINFUL IS THIS PROCESS, TO COMPETE THE FORMALITY,YOU SHOULD BE
1. HAVING KNOWLEDGE OF COMPUTER
2. HAVE A PRINTER[LASER OR INKJET]
3. HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF SENDING RECEIVING E-MAIL
ONLY THEN ICICI WILL ACCEPT YOUR APPLICATION

The Talibs (talibanese) of all the bank, is what i would love to name ICICI corporation. A stinking business bank and more stinking are their rules and regulations. I wonder what the heck is Government doing on all these things. Media reports almost a case of death every week now, and still the bank is spree on its own. i have a personal loan from these talibs and due date as per the document is 5th of every month. when i go the bank for EMI payment, the lady waashes her ahnd saying PREPAYMENT NOT ACCEPTED. and after 5th they charge me 10% of the EMI. what the heck ? Do any stupid working employee of ICICI tell me what is meant by DUE DATE?

The one quote FOR ICICI is “HUM HAI NAA AAPKO LUTNE KE LIYE”.
Government will not take any action against ICICI bank b’z ICICI giving handsome amount of bribe to the Finance & other ministries (including RBI).
The world’s worst bank, the ICICI, will be closed in near future.

And the story continues…ICICI remains the worst customer service provider. After the pathetic response I received on my first complaint to ICICI. (ICICICARE=019-428-050′), I had promised my self that Ill never put a complaint forward to this bank as no action takes place. But the bank staff is so well trained to annoy the customers that they have to come back to this section time and again. Yesterday 24/12/07 I went to GK-2 branch of ICICI bank, I stood by the ‘May I help you section’ for 10mins & no one was on the seat to help. After my 10 mins on stopping a staff member passing by I requested if he could help. I wanted to withdraw an amount of 40,0000Rs from my NRI account. He said the systems are down and we cannot help. On my asking what should I do he replied- you can withdraw the money from the ATM machine. I said but there is a specific limit to withdrawal from ATM. To my shock he said yes the limit is 25000 but you can try, as the machine can sometimes give huge amount of money!!!
I said to this staff person if that’s the case then how safe is banking with ICICI? On which he responded I am trying to help you madam, why are you questioning this! I was so annoyed that I demanded to speak to the branch manager. He pointed to the direction of branch operational manager and walked away. He didn’t ask me to take a seat or to wait, he just walked away. Out of the 3 branch operational managers 2 were not on there seats and one was busy with some clients. I kept standing in front of the branch manager for about 15 mins and then heard some client shouting at the other end of the bank. This was another client who got furious with the staff in the deposit section. This staff member was busy eating and having coffee at his desk ignoring the customer and telling him that the systems are down. Now two were standing in front of the branch manager to complain, but the manager was constantly ignoring what was going on in the bank. Then another client Mrs Uma Rao got furious about something with the staff member and the queue to meet the manager got bigger but the manger was acting so busy that she didn’t get up from her seat to sort the matter out. It was already 35 mins that I was standing in the bank and going through all this. When all three clients got together and started discussing the issues, the branch manager got up and instead of listening to our concerns started despising us and ordered the staff members to sort our problems. I told her that you should listen to our complaints on which she just kept on arguing and finally walked back to her seat saying that I don’t think I can do anything.
One of the staff members then asked for my cheque, as the systems started working. I got my money after an hour of humiliation, heated arguments and embarrassment. The branch manager and staff members were very rude, disrespectful and shameless. No one even once apologized for all that happened. I being an NRI client could not understand how can a bank treat their customers like dogs?
My previous complaint letter went into ICICI recycle bin but this time shall try and do whatever I can.
I am forwarding this letter to Hindustan times along with my previous complaint letter and will also publish everything online. I believe that there should be an end to customer harassment by the ICICI.

My first letter to ICICI…All sour memories relived!!!
Dear Officer,
I Dr Shaveta Mulla, opened NRI account with ICICI Bank on the 24th of July 2006.
I couldn’t access my account till the 29th of August 2006, reason being the internet password ‘not working’. In this regard I spoke to 24 hour phone banking officers of ICICI bank, who very politely told me, may be you got an OLD WELCOME KIT. On my questioning them, why an old kit to a new customer? I was told this happens quite often madam and in order to get a new password you will have to go to a local branch and submit an application in-person. Your password will then be posted to you in 7-10 days. This was not just one officer but three different officers with same kind of explanation on different days.
I also had to change my communication address for which I needed to go to the bank. On the 17th of august 2006 I went to GK-1 branch, New Delhi and met with an officer, who asked me to write an application form stating the change of address and issue of a new password. I was again reassured by the officer that I shall receive my password in 7-10 days.
I submitted the application and waited for the password to arrive. After a wait of ten days, I then had to call up phone banking in order to find out what’s been happening. To my surprise, the phone banking officer, told me that your communication address has been changed but the password hasn’t, as the old password which was issued to me in the first instance was active. She also told me we never send any OLD welcome kits to any of our new customers and that, for a new password you don’t have to give anything in writing. You can do that over the internet. I was shocked and totally confused about the information that I had been given for the last one month. I then spoke to the customer care manager who also reinforced the same information on me.
A delay of one month with so much confusion, frustration and disappointment made me rethink of the decision I took to opening a relationship with a highly reputed bank namely ICICI. I required money on the 10 of August but wasn’t able to do so because of this misleading and wrong information. I was so much annoyed with the services provided by the bank to the NRI customers.
On the beginning of a relationship if I am facing so many problems then what future can I expect from a bank?
One of the phone banking officers also told me the system is down and you should call up in the morning! If the system doesn’t work for 12hrs then what is the point of 24 hrs phone banking. The next minute I again called up and there was another banking officer over the phone who could access the account and provide me with the information mentioned above, which was apparently wrong.
The customer has to suffer all the tantrums and misled information provided to them by so called ‘trained staff’. I am also surprised that a local branch officer made me write an application for an issue of a new password when it was actually not required.
I do not understand what kind of services the bank provides when it comes to NRI customers. At the local branch office the officer was busy doing three other things at same time while dealing with the customer. She was talking over the mobile phone, training a colleague and chatting with another one.
I have been banking with reputed banks like the HSBC and have never faced such humiliation, inconvenience and disappointment any day. Trusting this to be an Indian bank moving towards global standards would be maintaining high standards while dealing with customers or any other issue, opened an NRI account. But I honestly regret my decision of doing this. I somehow feel that the main aim of the bank is to lure the customers and leave them to their disappointments and inconveniences, once they open a banking relationship.
I still remember the sentence printed on my cheque book saying ‘Welcoming you to the family and assuring you that as an ICICI Bank customer, you will enjoy conveniences not yet matched by any other Indian Bank’
I am very disappointed and hope that this matter would be taken up seriously and appropriate actions would be undertaken.
The RESPONSE FROM THE BANK- WATCH OUT GUYS

ICICI bank is a sort of a group of people sitting there to make us fool. Their customer care is worst in its class. Unfortunately I, also, have an s/a (628801023689) as well as demat account with this worst bank. These days the have suspended my account due to non-submission of some document which were loosed by this highly secured bank during Mumbai flood. Though I submitted these documents thrice (by going at bank in Kanpur which is 125 km from my place) but account still suspended, displaying the same message. I send several mails to its official but all in vain. Now I am fed up of this bank and its officials. I never would like to recommend any one to go with these blood suckers. Even I am thinking to say them good-bye. I will be very happy if even one boarder decide to keep distance with this worst so called 24*7 bank.

Glad I am not the ONLY one..
My mistake I opened up an NRI account with ICICI. They suspended my online Demat account because now I have been asked to resubmit hell lot of forms lost due to flood in their mumbai office. After experiencing red tapism at Indian consulate (yeah just to get a paper attested one has to go through ‘apostile’ verification by local country and to make the matter further annoying, there is cost involved too! and all this because ICICI premises got flooded with water! what a joke)
Anyway, my most frustrating moment was when I wanted to transfer some money into another ICICI bank account in India using online banking. First, I was asked to register my mobile phone (to do internet banking!). Then I was adviced it will take 3 days for registration of mobile phone into their system. After 3 days, I tried again and this time I was adviced that because I do NOT have an ICICI ATM card I cannot transfer the funds. The reason I surrender my ATM card earlier was I live overseas and this card was pretty much redundant for me and I was being charged annual fees.
In a Nutshell, with ICICI bank to transfer money online you will need a GSM phone and an ATM card! what type of internet banking is this..
And, I need not talk about their customer service.. we all know that it is pathetic. When I visit India, I have to spare one complete day to do petty banking things with them..
My advice to fellow NRI’s please avoid ICICI (and other Indian banks). Please put your hard earned money with foreign banks like HSBC, Citi etc to enjoy the services to which we are use to in foreign lands!

icici is the worst bank in this country . just avoid it

I work at Corporation Bank, a nationalized bank. I have been reading such articles about ICICI Bank for a very long time. I ve seen that they charge exorbitant amounts for non maintainance of minimum balance, for using atm for more than a certain number of times in a month, for cash withdrawal, and for other equally strange reasons. For EG; ive heard that they charge about Rs.750/- as minimum balance charges. Our bank charges about Rs. 23/- for a quarter for not maintaining an average minimum bal of Rs.500/- I imagine that they dont need to give service. They get enormous profits just out of having accounts with them( so they can withdraw the amounts at their leisure under the guise of various charges - to be shown as fantastic profits later on in the balance sheets) This is a letter to all those out there. Switch to Nationalized banks. I personally work in Corporation Bank. Like all other banks, we have staff shortage & people do have to wait in queus some time. But the thing is the nationalized bank is not allowed to make any difference in treatment to a rich man or a poor one. So, in some main centres, our bank has opened a few Branches specifically for top end customers. To cater to the need of the top cream. This is not an ad to say switch to my Bank. Its better or something like that. The thing is ive been working with them for about 8 years now. Ive personally seen the staff trying genuinely to help the customers out ( I could be mistaken. This has been my personal experience. ) My advice: Try out the nationalized banks for a change. YOu may be pleasantly surprised.

Dear Sir,
I had an NRE a/c with ICICI bank Thane Branch and a saving account for my Wife. When I opened the account it was agreed that my wife need not maintain required minimum balance cos I had an NRE a/c. However the bank use to charge for minimum balance when the balance went low.No problem I did not say anything as I was abroad.I was transferred to Egypt and it was inconvnient for remittance from EGYPT so I was forced to close my account but still my wife had an account.
In my next visit I personally with my wife went to the bank to close the account of my wife.
As I use to deal with the NRE manager I just went to say Hi and she agreed to accept the letter for closer of saving account of my wife.I also gave the reason on the letter that my wife will accompany me abroad.
I came to India on Emergancy visit to get my wife operated.
It was surprising to see that the account was not closed we got a statment showing a debit balance of around Rs.8000.00+
I visited the bank with the statment, the Branch Manager asked me to get the acknowledgment letter which was more then 2 years old where can I find this chit of paper?.I tried to explain him but it was useless.
I made acomplaint to ICICI bank H.O and they send my a SMS stating ‘SR6781760:Thank you for the feed back. We have taken up the matter with the concerened departent. We regret for the inconvenince caused.
I got an immediate call form the ICICI bank officer and he asked me to submit the closer letter once again which I did.The letter was simply rejected stating that they will not entertain this letter How come?.
Any way I asked them to accept the letter and put their comments which is normal.Just Imagin the BRANCH manager even doesn’t know such simply thing how to deal with the CUSTOMER.He wa just refusing to accept the request- these are HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANAGER WORKING FOR HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL BANL ICICI.
How come the account was kept open so long. Is there any internal or statutary AUDIT Department in ICICI?
If these is the case with me I don’t know howmany such accounts are in ICICI and the bank will be showing wrong asset value.
IT is Really SERIOUS.

Dear Balakrishna,
I have gone through this and believe me your ordeal will not end it will be there till u go back to india forever and then spend about 3months daily to stand in queue at ICICI bank maybe than you can clear the whole issue.
Infact did anyone realise that the ICICI bank is now so much aware of their stinking customer support quality that they are faster responding to this site then their customers.
If ever they had any wish in heart to take care of the customers then they should be aware that they can contact their customer grievances immediately by running the details on the customer in the central computer database which can give them all the details and not a single customer requires to go to the ICICI bank and request help, please note the bank is fully computerised (I have specialisation in computers and the computer banking hence i can say this with authority) the details of the customers are not in paper files anymore, so the Quality dept and others donot need to show a cosmetic touch by saying pls contact us and we will address ur problem,it is only to fool the people.

Banks can’t deny loans on basis of jobThe TOP consumer court in Delhi on Friday slammed banks for denying services like loans and credit cards to people of select professions, like lawyers and journalists.
The Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission gave the order in a case of a lawyer who had complained that a bank had rejected her application for a credit card because of her profession. It imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on ICICI Bank for “defaming and demeaning the legal profession” by rejecting Nivedita Sharma’s application, citing she had a “negative profile”.
The court said lawyers and journalists are often denied loan facilities by banks. “The apparent reason is that lawyers and journalists do not take illegal or arbitrary acts of banks lying down and challenge them in courts. Banks know they cannot play games with them,” a bench headed by Justice JD Kapoor said.
There are more than 45,000 lawyers and 5,000 journalists in Delhi.
“Such a policy reflects the mindset of banks as private officials, peons, clerks and even vegetable vendors are extended loans but not advocates or journalists with sound financial standing,” the court said. “It is an act of corporate authoritarianism.”
The court said such discrimination should be stopped at once. The only criteria should be fulfillment of RBI guidelines and financial standing and creditworthiness of a person, it said.
It rejected ICICI’s claim that it had the discretion to choose customers.
An ICICI spokesperson said they would appeal against the order. The bank admitted that the lawyer’s documents were returned with a note, “negative profile”, but it was not an “attempt to undermine her position”.

I too had similar experience. I had kept money in FCNR account. FCNR matured but amount was not re-invested and was lying idle for more than a month. On enquiry, I was informed that I have to top up amount as per new govt rules, alternatively aount can be deposited in my savings a/c. I was supposed to receive 500 pounds (principal) and interest on maturity. What was deposited was 400 pounds. It is 4 months since the event and the bank is still investigating….

Do agree with the fact that icici bank has retrogressed in quality of service. Initially it was one of the best and provided many services which other banks failed to provide. Now the situation has changed. Now that the bank is in a safe zone and has a strong customer base, it is with contempt that it treats its customers. its like, this is what we give u, i u want take it or leave it.
Most of the agents are dumb ass holes who are incompetent. Once i had an issue at a branch in Hyderabad when i went to apply for a credit card. they not only refused to accept my application but also said that my company is black listed. it was like getting slapped on the face.
i tried to find the reason behind this black listing, and even went to the manager of the branch, who turned out to be a bigger asshole and f****** bastard.
on another occassion i went to the branch to get a statement printout. the agent was not at the counter, so i gave the request at the next counter. this one was over smart, when i asked about the agent at 1st counter, this fellow said,, “insaan hai sir, khaana peena to chahiye na sir..” ok then the customers are animals or what… all he needed to say was “the agent is on break, if u need the print out immediately please wait until he returns” that was all that was required. the bank is full of idiots like these.
now i am scared of making a complaint because even god would not know when these fools will come and beat me up. or goof up on my accounts…. these ppl have access to every confidential piece of info….

Hi all,
I’ll share my experience with ICICI Money2india. I have never seen such a worst website. Very rarely I and my colleagues(50 ppl) are able to complete the fund transfer with out getting the error ‘Page cannot be displayed’. I was following up with customer care for 3 months and fed up, bcoz every time someone, who is new will reply with meaning less answers and every time there is a claim they have resolved the issue. But nothing had changed…. For this deep shit service they started charging Rs.25/transfer.
So I and colleagues decided to switch to Remit2India, which is working well.

Chid

Now where do I start, lets see…
It took 3 months to open my account in UK, made several calls to who have to be the most ineffeciant call centre centric service people in the world. Traditionally I am used to bank with likes of HSBC, Citi hence 4 months down the line I still cant grasp how this bank works.
Internet banking website - what can you say, guys get some decent programmers and build a decent internet banking system atleast provide 5% of what HSBC online banking gives its customers. Add some stability to your systems. I have banked with HSBC for 10 years and never had timeout
I recide in UK, and have experienced eastern europen customer support service but believe me ICICI customer support (most inefficient …)
Internet banking tells phone customer services to request a debit card, customer service tells me send email from internet banking-I was in this loop for 3 weeks-finally giveup.
Keep your life simple do NOT bank with ICICI

I agree.. it is the worst bank ever.
My recent experience in the list of bad experiences with ICICI is their bill pay service which I agreed to use out of my stupidity.
ICICI had informed that I would get bill notifications and that the bills would not get paid until I approved payment.
Despite that ICICI kept payingthe bills without my approval, this happened despite me having set an autopay rule to pay the bills only if they were below Re.1/-
The best part is that ICICI kept paying the bills even though I removed the biller itself.
And yes, I also did contact the so called customer “care”.
Hail ICICI!!

ICICI Bank Negligence.
Hi,
Guys, we all know that the ICICI Bank is one of the best banks in the country. But how many of us know that many people are suffering because of ICICI Bank negligence.
Please read it carefully and stop banking with ICICI Bank.
• XXX tried to open a DMAT A/C with ICICI Bank.
• ICICI Bank says – it normally takes 15 days to open a DMAT A/C.
• For XXX it took around 40 days with many calls to the bank.
• Account opened at last but the welcome kit did not reach to XXX. Only he got few passwords by normal post.
• One day XXX is in office and gets a call from the ICICI Bank currier guy to receive some kit.
• No way can XXX come back to home to receive it. So the Kit goes back to Bank.
• XXX goes to nearest ICICI Bank, which is far away from XXX’s home to get the welcome kit.
• But the kit is not the DMAT kit but the Savings A/C kit which XXX had to open along with the DMAT.
• Still no trace of DMAT A/C. The passwords XXX got long back is with XXX and for more than 15 days and feared expired because of no implementation.
• Finally after many long phone calls and many requests, ICICI Bank sends 3 booklets kind of thing with DMAT A/C printed on it.
• XXX tries to open the DMAT A/C but since the passwords were not used for more than 15 days they were inactive by then.
• XXX again calls ICICI Bank to send a new set of passwords.
• Password reach to XXX, all good.
• XXX deposits 5000/- to ICICI Savings for DMAT trading.
• XXX now happily tries to open DMAT and tries to trade.
• Alas!! No success, DMAT A/C says PAN details not available with local ICICI Bank and XXX cannot do trading.
• XXX cannot stand with this. Already ICICI Bank deducted some amount form XXX savings for some strange reasons.
• XXX issues an ICICI check for Rs. 2000/- in favor of a Credit card, let’s use 5000/- to pay the credit card bills.
• The check is cleared.
• The remaining amount should be 3000/-.
• XXX issues another ICICI bank check for another Credit Card. This time, lets pay the remaining full amount left (3000/-) in ICICI Bank, to the credit card.
• The check got bounced.
• Credit Card Company calls XXX and informs the check bounce.
• XXX calls ICICI bank and finds out that ICICI bank, without informing XXX, has blocked some amount from the remaining (3000/-) for the DMAT account, the DMAT, that never worked at all.
• XXX starts fighting with ICICI Bank.
• After almost 4 to 5 months, XXX gets an answer from ICICI bank that the amount blocking has done by XXX himself. XXX is surprised, the DMAT that never worked, how and why XXX would block some amount and let the check bounce.
• Since there is a check bounce reflecting in the credit Card statement XXX is now in a problem. XXX cannot use this statement for any loan or any other credit card for 6 months form now, because the banks have started calling other banks to know if there is any delay in payment before issuing any Credit card or loan.
• ICICI Bank is blaming XXX for all the problems.
You may understand this story or may not. But keep away from banking with ICICI Bank.
Please forward this mail to all Indians and as many people as possible. Let them know just because some negligence how people suffer. It is our money which bank use to make money but never hesitates to blame us if things are not straight.

The worst bank in the history of Mankind is ICICI.
I pray god to enable the provision of suing the bank in US courts. Now they have US branches. Since they always almost certainly commit serious mistakes to the disadvantage of customers, it is very easy to make money out of their blunders through US courts. One way it is better for us when they commit mistakes.
Everone please keep record of all communication. The bank will go bankrupt in months the moment it comes under the perview of US courts.

Dear Sir/ Madam,
We greatly value your relationship with us. In the context of the developments in the international financial markets, we thought it pertinent to bring to you our perspective of the prevailing situation.
We would like to bring to your attention that the Indian banking system is well regulated and significantly insulated from global developments. This is because it is mandatory for all Indian Scheduled Commercial Banks to retain 34% of the deposit base in the form of Government Securities (SLR) and cash with RBI (CRR). Besides, sound policies of RBI have ensured prudent credit practices in the Indian Banking system.
ICICI Bank is already compliant with the BASLE II requirement in respect of risk management practices and capital adequacy. At 13.4%, ICICI Bank has one of the highest capital adequacy ratios in the Indian banking industry. Last year, ICICI Bank raised Rs. 20,000 crores (US $ 5 billion) of equity capital, which almost doubled our equity capital base. We have a net worth of over Rs. 47,000 crores (US$ 10 billion), again one of the highest in the banking industry in India We have consolidated total assets of over Rs. 4,84,000 crores (over US $ 105 billion), which is diversified across a wide range of asset classes across retail, wholesale and rural banking.
ICICI Bank is amongst the most profitable banks in India. In FY 08, ICICI Bank made a profit of Rs. 4,158 crores (US$ 900 million).
ICICI Bank has the highest credit ratings in the Indian financial sector. We have AAA ratings for our instruments, such as senior bonds, subordinated bonds, and deposits. We have the highest foreign currency bond ratings assigned to any Indian bank from Moodys and S&P.
We continue to invest in growth, indicating our confidence in the opportunities in the Indian market. In 07-08, ICICI Bank added 650 new branches, taking the total strength to over 1400 branches.
We thank you for reposing trust in us over the years. We look forward to setting new benchmarks in service levels in India and to create a bank that you will continue to be proud of.
As a testimony to the above, please find below the clarification given by Reserve Bank of India.
Date : 30 Sep 2008
RBI Statement on ICICI Bank’s Financial Position
There are reports in some sections of the media that based on rumours regarding the financial strength of ICICI Bank, depositors are withdrawing cash at its ATMs and branches in some locations.
It is clarified that the ICICI Bank has sufficient liquidity, including in its current account with the Reserve Bank of India, to meet the requirements of its depositors. The Reserve Bank of India is monitoring the developments and has arranged to provide adequate cash to ICICI Bank to meet the demands of its customers at its branches/ ATMs.
The ICICI Bank and its subsidiary banks abroad are well capitalised.

Dear Reader, do you notice the constant annoyance of Nazia Sayeed, Office of Head Service Quality of ICICI Bank? This is called “Damage Control,” but lemme tell you my tale and YOU see if you would do business with such Banksters.
A man’s account had been phished (NOT MINE), and that money was sent to me by the phisherman and I credited a vendor to whom the payment was being made. The phished account owner ADMITTED that he had unwittingly given his password code, etc., to the phisherman but ICICI Bank took it out of our account because they had already refunded HIM!!! ICICI KNEW that the man admitted that he had been phished, and still stole it from us! I went to Lower Parrel over that deal all to no avail. They asked me for things I had no ability to produce that didn’t even bare on the circumstances, so we just lost the money. Think again if you don’t imagine I was madder than hell! Think again if you’re looking for a bank to do business with!
Uh … Nazia, no need to ask me to write your office. Birds of a feather DO flock together, once a bankster always a bankster.
What do you do when a gun is at your head and the thief says, “Your money or your life?” Do you plead with him that your children need to eat? Do you think he cares? That’s all a letter to Nazia will do. She works for the thieves, and she’ll lie for them in a heart beat. You can make book on it! I’ve got two other stories to tell, but will spare the ink at this point. Donal

In the last few years, the easily available credit cards and loans in the
market have superbly enabled us to increase our purchasing power way beyond
what our salaries ever could.
I can now buy just about anything on EMI by availing of these loans and
credit cards - be it a car, a house, expensive jewellery or a branded watch
that costs almost more than 10 times my salary! What bliss…. and all
because of the availability of credit at this age. Its a lifestyle I
so enjoy, but one which I know I must curb at some point. I have been
telling myself that I should stop spending too much on my card because the
bills at the end of the month tend to bother me. This heavily
credit-dependent lifestyle makes me feel good and experience things I
couldn’t
otherwise, but it also stresses me out every now and then. I tell myself and
I want to stop but I can’t seem to! It’s almost like an addiction now. It’s
frustrating every now and then.
Anyway, logic not prevailing, I have been continuing the same lifestyle. I
don’t think I will ever be able to stop it completely but regulating the
habit is something I am looking at now. I have begun to search for some way
in which I could possible get some professional guidance on “how
much” of this indulgence was ok for me at each point. To what extent could I
indulge and still manage to pay my bills and EMIs? To what extent can I
afford to live on credit and yet not be stressed about the bills?! How many
loans can I take and still manage to pay off the EMI’s comfortably every
month so that I am not in a situation where I have no money in the last week
of every month!?? For how many months of
the year can I afford to continue paying the minimum on my credit card?
Would any of you be aware of any such service that I can avail of? Who do I
approach for such advice? Would be great if you could write in and advise me
people!

Hi I was a part of ICICI and I guarantee you that all the mails and communication that you send to Head Service Quality or Head of Customer Service or Head of all the buffoons will not yield any result.
For them you are just another “Irate customer” who is to be avoided.
Like Bond said…the only way to get things done is by 1. mailing to kamath.kv@icicibank.com
2. Inform media with evidences
3. Avoid ban
