Hi Sam

Just don't think of measuring any download to ensure whether you will exhaust all 400 MB download.

Just relax - enjoy all your web site
In a day we hardly spend 3- 4 hours on internet

SO nothing normally goes as extra download charges
so dont worry on that

And MTNL definately will not charge for any calls during internet usage. It not like your telephone meter is on during that time. No No - please remove that from mind. You can keep your PC on internet entirely from morning to night. It will not take away in telehone call charges. Yes - you have to mind about electricity charges.

Apart from monthly rent of Rs 80/- for modem I suppose and fixed monthly rent as per plan - ther are no hidden charges.
Billing of telephone is also neet, particualr and without any problems

So just relax - you have got good thing with good speed and connectivity - Enjy the world of information

Bye

Hi,
  Nice post, really helpful.

I was thinking of going for TriB 200p plan.

As I understand, whenever I access any website, it will download contents and I am allowed 400mb every month in the plan. If I exceed that, I need to pay Re. 1 per mb.

Would MTNL charge for telephone calls during internet usage. ..? Right now, I just have incoming calls on my mtnl land line ...?

Also, are there any hidden charges apart from modem & monthly subscription.

Thanks in advance for the response.

Hi,
I am MTNL broad band user with ADSL modem
I am having two locations where I have installed windows - XP and at both places am having broad band connection.
I am trying to use Windows Net Meeting for desktop sharing purpose from both places.
I have already installed net meeting on desktop of both PC's
To dial another computer - I needed proper Internet IP.
SO I got that IP from one of the internet site called as myipaddress.com. My IP was like 54.120...... something.
To my surprise when I dial through net meeting - always message comes - other person not able to receive your net meeting call. Where as at the other end there is no call received at all.
I tried to ping the other PC through our regular ping command - to my surprise - both PC's ping for each other without any problem.
I am not new to Net Meeting concept as I had worked this previously from other type of connections in my office.
But to my frustration - it seems it is not happning only in MTNL tri band connection.
I had even gone ahead to disable my firewall from both sides.
Nothing working.............
I need desperate help from sombody........As am going totally mad..............
If any one knows any further settings to be carried out, please let me know.
Or please give me someones phone number to whom I can speak and get guideance.

Hi,
I have recently gotten a Triband connection. However, from day 1, the problem is that whenever the phone is off-hook or engage the DSL connection works fine but as soon as the phone is disconnected or placed on hook, the DSL line gets disconnected. This is pretty contradictory to the normal problems faced by most users where the line disconnects after the phone is lifted. I have had the dsl connection checked at the exchange and there seems to be no problem with it. Have even tried changing the ADSL routers and splitters, but there isnt any change in the situation.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Regards,
Ashish K.

Hi,

I'm a new user of MTNL broadband. I have taken up 512KBps connection. My issue is that the connection is higly unstable. It goes off every 30 mts or so. Sometimes, it comes back in 5-10 mts, while sometimes it takes 30 mts or so. The technical support people tried changing the cable, recheckign the wiring but of no help. Its a struggle for me to keep myself online for hours together when required at work. Could you please suggest what could be the issue?

Hi,
I am a new user of mtnl 256k trib unlimeted plan. I have been using it for almost a week. There are tow major problems :-

1. I get frequent disconnection and so i have to restart the modem . After restarting the modem all works fine.
One more big issue is that, whenever i get incoming call on phone, the internet get disconnected and does to resume to service. To solve this issue, i again restart the modem. i don't know whats wrong...

2. I am shareing my internet among three of my friends. I have used a 8-port D-Link Switch. The problem is that
i am not so sure that if i can share the service(internet) or not. For some reason i don't wanna ask the cc. I am so sure that many of you guys sharing their net.
The Question is, "IS THIS LEGAL TO SHARE THE INTENET ? OR NOT ?"
