Well, I just watched the video of Dev Anand’s new movie Mr. Prime Minister. Can you believe it? The man himself sings and that too rap song though I have no idea why it’s called as rap song…English rap…

I had read in one interview of his that, he is expecting this song to be a major hit and he himself has penned it…but the truth is…the song sucks big times and in whole song I was trying to find the so called “English rap” in the song…It was more like a person documenting things with some background music..

The video shows, Dev Anand singing in front of the crowd, singing at gateway of India, singing in Disco…teenagers dancing on his tunes in the Disco, girls gathered around him to shake hands with him, news reporters ready with their guns (camera and mic)….

I seriously do not understand why such a legend is wasting so much time in singing such songs and even making these kind of movies and generating useless hype…

He should think a lot before making these kind of movies and songs…

Shopping time for biggies, Google bought Picasa, Urchin….eBay got Skype, Yahoo…Flickr and recently del.icio.us

But apart from all these I must say, Yahoo is the smartest…why? because they are carefully shopping for the stuff and buying what people like and what can be improved a lot….

When I read news about Yahoo’s del.icio.us purchase, I was quite happy because this will make a good site much better and the growth will be much faster than earlier…and apart from that it makes people lot more happy because these sites are actively used by many people around the world and after big purchase lot of exciting things can happen..(like we saw with Flickr)

Where in the case of Google, I would say it was a bad deal…I don’t think there are many people who are Picasa followers or say Urchin lovers…I personally feel urchin or sucks…awstats is much better than urchin in many ways…In fact these 2 software never excites me to use them and try them out…yes I had tried Google Analytics but it didn’t make me a happy user

Now eBay…yeah..skype was a great purchase but I somehow feel that..someone will buy out eBay soon….

So I would call Yahoo a smart buyer and picking the good ones from the list…(Hint Hint Hint…Yahoo!! Don’t let Google buy Riya ;) )

A.R.Rahman, when that name comes attached with the music album, the expectations are lot more higher than other music directors. The main reason for this is, the person has many things in his magical bag and tries different things all the time…and in this process you cannot expect everything to be a major hit but yes…that’s how you learn…

In Yuva he tried to mix techno with fresh music and the outcome was very good, very fresh music (of course there are several people who did not like it) then the music of Mangal Pandey released, which was low down for everyone including me; the only good track was Title song..Mangal Mangal…and now he is back again with Rang De Basanti

Now at this time also, like always, people very eagerly waiting for the music…the music in promo was really impressive, fresh music and in fact the music also proves to be same, fresh with lot of new experiment with the music…

But Mr. Rahman forgot that people do not like experiments much…but I personally liked the music..Yeah..I won’t call it as great music but it is decent enough….

He has tried lot of variations in music, mixed Arabic stuff (Khalbali) ,traditional punjabi music (Ik Onkar) to Dance / rocking (NOT rock) music mixed with hindi words (Paathshala)…

Let me go one by one with all the tracks…

I watched preview show of Apharan today and I must say, the movie is definitely worth watching BUT at the same time it is not as good as Prakash Jha’s other movie Gangajal.

There are no flaws in the movie, the story is also good but it misses the sensational scenes which were there in Gangajal.

The movie is about relationship between politicians & gangsters in Bihar and how gangsters kidnap people in Bihar with full support of police officers & politicians. They have succeeded to show the reality to people, they way gangsters live in jail, the way they keep the police in their pocket. Acting wise everyone was perfect, the movie is filled with strong actors like Ajay Devgan, Nana Patekar,Mukesh Tiwari etc…so it is very difficult to find flaws in the acting.

Few scenes like how gangsters handle their network from jail are really impressive. The scene when Ajay Devgan enters the jail is also really good…(the way all police officers salute him etc..)

So overall the movie was very good and you must watch it in theatre only.
