Is your name Hari? NO? Well, you just missed chance to win Rs. 1 crore…

Let me come to the point…I came across this story recently on Mid-Day..a guy named Hari sent legal notice to Naukri.com. Reason? Because Naukri.com used name Hari in one of their ads and which caused that guy so much loss that he had to claim damages of Rs. 1 crore…

The ad says something like this:

The advertisement in question has a person telling on phone the full form of the name Hari as “H for Hitler, A for Arrogant, R for Rascal and I for Idiot,” it said.

The name seems to have caused lot of problems for that 11 year old kid..this is what the article says….

Hari Bhanot, in his notice, charged that an advertisement of the site had resulted in mental harassment and agony as many of his friends and acquaintances have made him a butt of jokes after watching it on TV.

“The telecast of the advertisement has undermined the status, reputation, respect and self-confidence of my client and has severely affected his standing in the school, residential locality and social circle. After the advertisement came on air, many people known to my client have told him that they have a lower opinion of him,” he claimed.

The notice was sent by his father on behalf of him. But don’t you think….something is missing in the claim? ”common sense” I agree that Naukri.com has used the name Hari and the guy’s name is also same BUT what’s so big deal in that? In movies there are many funny, bad people with different names, so does this mean that people make fun of guys with those names? These things are limited to movies and the ones who try to use it beyond that are simply fools and we should ignore that….

Shakti kapoor had famous funny dialogue with name Lalita (Aau Lalita), so does this mean all Lalitas in the world should ask for their claim?

Seriously, these guys should think twice before sending such kind of foolish legal notices…

Got to know about it just now from Aaj Tak and now reading more about it on rediff I guess, the time has come for our railway minister to wakeup from a long sleep and take care of the security of passengers, specially Bihar side where these kind of things are happening more frequently.

250+ passengers in the train, whole train in control of Naxalites (more)…no communication between naxalites and railways / police…more than 12 incidents like this in a year…but still our guys haven’t learnt any lessons…

This is what article on rediff says

Naxalites have stormed a passenger train between Kummandi and Hedegada in Jharkhand and have gained complete control of the train, taking all passengers hostage.

“We are unable to establish any contact with the train crew. Guards of a goods train that crossed the said train have also said that there was no signal from the passenger train. Usually when two trains pass each other, the respective guards flash a signal to indicate all is fine. It looks like the Naxals have snatched the walkie-talkies of the guards,” said Central Railway Public Information Officer A K Chandra.

“The Railways has become a soft target in this region [Jharkhand and Bihar]. There have been at least a dozen Naxal attacks on railway installations in the past year,” Chandra said.

The railway officials said they will wait till dawn to launch any rescue operation.

“The area where they have stopped the train is surrounded by hills and has a very thick forest cover. Moreover, being Holi-eve, the train has more passengers than usual. So we are not ready to risk anything,” said a senior official.

He said the number of passengers held hostage may be anywhere between 200 and 400.

Sources said the Railway police personnel on duty did not board the train.

All trains on the route have either been halted or diverted.

Read the bold lines again..and think again…so where is the security Mr. Railway Minister?

Update: The area Latehar is one of the worst areas which is totally controlled by Naxalites, so instead of providing more security, there is no security at all there.

Update 2: They have released the train and no casualties have been reported. Detailed report here

Blog..this word is being very famous in Indian Media…be it a news channel or a news paper..everyone is getting interested in blogs..

I wanted to write about it when few of my posts were featured in Mumbai Mirror (There is nothing great in it..they do the same with other bloggers too) but for some reason I did not write it…

But today when I noticed few people coming from the newspaper site DNA, it made me write about the blogs and Indian Media…

I guess Mumbai Mirror started picking stuff from blogs and showing in one of their sections…(ofcourse with blog links)..now in print media..DNA also started the same…

In news channels..till now I have seen CNN-IBN Live getting more intrest in blogs and bloggers

It is very good to see the interests of media people in blogs…and this will let people know the voice of people…but I hope these guys don’t cross their limit and make the term blog as something BIG and great….i.e. hype it too much…
