Ravi is studying hard to get high score in IIT entrance test, studying day and night without thinking about anything else…Mahesh is not much worried about the entrance test much because he is confident that he is going to crack the test and get into IIT for sure…and Ravi is still not confident about anything and is totally tensed…
The reason why Mahesh is so much confident? Is he totally prepared? Did he get the test question paper in advance? NO!! He is confident because he is from OBC (backward class) and he is sure that he will get into IIT anyhow…so why to study, if he can get into IIT at low score?
And why this is happening? Because our dear politicians wants to target OBC vote bank..so they will have to do something to make them happy….so this is what they decided to do…
To make small fraction of people happy, they are ready to screw whole country…
I personally feel, education should be strictly on merit basis…because this is the place where you have to work hard and the one who is better, deserves the place….
But in our country, it happens other way…the ones who do not work hard will get the place and hard workers will be shown “No Admission” board…
One of my friends’ friend is in some engineering college, never studies properly, though he got admission in one the topmost colleges in Mumbai…the reason? He managed to get fake OBC / SC certificate with the help of his dad (who works in Income Tax or Sales Tax department)
So now here, the politicians got what they wanted but 1 good student did not get admission because this…there many be 1000s of more people like this and good students loosing seats because of them..
Just because to make few people happy…

The primary of reservation is (must be) upliftment of socially, economically and educationally backward people. I believe that there must be some reservation for people who can’t afford the highly expensive current education. What about people who can’t afford going for entrance coaching classes and highly priced coacjing books ?
But there must be equal importance for merit. 50% reservation is no good. And creamylayer must be strictly avoided from reservations. Social and Economical backwardness must be strictly checked while applying this kinda reservations. No one should be eligible for a free seat for the simple reason that they was born to parents who belongs to some specific caste.
I myself belongs to OBC(SEBC), but I never check that in any applications. I always apply for open/general category for I beleive that I have the quality to get enlisted myself high in the general category. And I also don’t want a seat/job just because I belong to a specific caste/community. That’s a humiliation to my efforts and ability.

I personally have many things to say.
Even I dont have a famous blog like our Deep Bhai that I could have made this notice. But still its almost late 1.30AM
will post in the morning in being more specific in the causes and making it more complex then it looks.
Thanks Deep

actually politicinas didnt do it for small vote bank… rich class of ppl sledom vote, same is with middle class, only SC/ST, OBC ppl go to vote and that makes upto around 70-80% of total votes, hence they got their market share… yesterday these facts were given on Sahara NCR
10-Apr-2006 at 8:18 am
I very much agree with you deep…. The reservation should be based on merit and financial assistance should be given to students who are economically backward. It should not given based on a particular community… Do not know when our politicians will their lessons..

Our country is dying sick of these politicians. I can’t believe if they can screw the system so much. In most of the cases, what happens is, X and Y both are classmates in school, both get the same quality of education, then why differentiate them on the basis of caste? It’s this very system of India, that some people are leveraging upon and most of the others are criticising, up bringing is alright, but giving them same education, then differentiating is pretty incorrect. OK OK OK, agreed to this biased decision. Then in a college, both X and Y are made to go through the same education level, and when it comes to jobs, government wants reservation again for them, and then for their children and thus the thing continues. What the hell is this?
The politicians who are aiming that should be brought in public and shot at in front of everybody, so that they don’t aim to screw our education system. Already it’s more or less politicised. Also, I am from one of the hailing colleges, targetted in the list of MHRD to be screwed for reservation, I just can’t get it. If they do so, we leave all our alma matter, coz then these great institutes don’t need any alumni for their upbringing, coz government can take care of these intitutions.
God save our country. IITs/IIMs/NITs. What’s left? After 2 years there’ll be a division of these institutes. Think of the situation:
6 out of 7 IITs only for reserved.
5 out of 6 IIMs only for reserved.
15 out of 17 NITs only for reserved.
What’s left???????????????????
And after some time, there’ll be absolutely no institute left for meritorious people to go and study, coz their aim is upbringing SC/ST/OBC at the cost of meritorious and general people.
Great! I think the sun is already setting over India.
10-Apr-2006 at 11:21 am
In a few years, there would be a reservation for the general quota, rather than the OBC quota. If the government wants to get rid of the caste system, why the hell is it giving extra priveleges to a section of the society ? Indirectly, they’re actually promoting the caste system ! And politicians, just for their vote bank - are compromising on the standards of the best universitites in India.
10-Apr-2006 at 1:09 pm
After few years people will be saying that the reservation is for general category .
10-Apr-2006 at 4:33 pm
The most pathetic move I’ve seen from any government in the last 10 years. I was generally in good faith but about the congress but thanks to this, I can understand that they too are just the same ‘ol same ‘ol. Is this the same congress where greats like Gandhi, Nehru, etc all were together??
This system of reservation was started just to bridge inequalities between castes which was a good motive. But now, I don’t see the ineq anywhere, so why should this continue? Nowhere people ask what caste you are, except on dumb govt application forms.
One of teachers told me, The british divided and ruled and these guys jsut continue it for votes. Pathetic how for a few votes, they screw up the country. Meaning atleast 1000 bright students lose teh chance everywhere. I too am a firm believer in Merit only. IIT has a name all over the world next perhaps only to MIT and this is going to ruin everything.
I don’t have anything against any caste but why play games with education. IIT is one of the chief income givers to the country as the students get Prime Jobs. It’s a shame that the govt can’t do anything else for votes. I guess even if there is some revolt, this will be implemented.
Nowhere in the world, have I seen such a pathetic system of politics and nothing is gonna change until the politicians get kicked out and we get somebody who really is an Indian.
P.S: Some ex-IIT students are standing in TN elections, this time, neat eh?
10-Apr-2006 at 7:38 pm
Actually If I have studied my lessons correctly at schools then the scheme of reservation for OBC/SC was brought in by DR B R Amebedkar for a period of 10 or so years for the upliftment of the backward class. But these polticians keep it on just for the votes I dont say take it out total but its too much.
Deep man you are from gujarat you should have seen many cases like this as i came to know so much about it from gujarat only
10-Apr-2006 at 11:17 pm
its insanity.. what else can one say??
11-Apr-2006 at 10:53 am
Its not only caste reservations that i hate. There’s something called as 30% women reservation in some places. On top of that, we have sepcial women buses and trains right here in Chennai. After all this, what are these women talking about?? EQUALITY. Bull shit.. to bring equality, give us Men special trains, Men special buses.. or just stop these *sex* special comodities. Its just like, “Men and Dogs are not allowed”. If the people need equality, abolish these reservations and bring the REAL EQUALITY in India.
Note: sorry.. if i blasted. no harm intended!
11-Apr-2006 at 3:11 pm
Haha…. That was way-offtopic but I guess the govt likes to give priveledges to the fairer sex. LOL! Actually I see that women enjoy these advantages and at the same time, ask for equality…. ::D
11-Apr-2006 at 5:02 pm
Yeah and i have seen women buses filled with men and only men great way of giving equality.
12-Apr-2006 at 4:58 pm
I just wanted to tell that there’s no need for SPECIAL services. Instead, properly implement the existing (or rather earlier) rule. Front portion of buses for ladies, and back portion only for men!
12-Apr-2006 at 9:55 pm
i love delhi metro… no seats reserved for anyone except 3 in ech coach for handicap or elderly… so no lady can ask me to get up
13-Apr-2006 at 9:22 am
But in buses they do
13-Apr-2006 at 8:20 pm
karthiksn - I was only born in Guj…
shwetanshu - I guess Delhi is much much more better than Mumbai / Maharashtra in Politics and the rules…and that is why Delhi people are happy with Shila Dixit and here we had many politicians with fake promises and stupid rules….
I personally feel, there should be some high educated authority to pass the decisions by these fools…
15-Apr-2006 at 1:28 pm
This is the time to take some action. These politicians have always taken us for a ride. They have left no stone untirned to ruin our career and life. These dirty votebank politics will for sure ruin the country. They least care about our opinions. We raised our voice during Mandal 1, they didn’t listen. We burned ourselves they didn’t care. They kept sitting in their A/C chambers showing least concern. They don’t care whether we live or die. Today its reservation in education, tomorrow it’ll be reservation in private sector. They won’t let us study, they won’t let us find a job. We have been made as outcasts in our own country.
It’s time to HIT BACK. They don’t understand the language of peaceful protests. We have tried that so many times and failed. They only understand the language of voilence. I am ready to be a HUMAN BOMB and take down with me atleast one of Arjun Singh, VP Singh, Mayawati or Meira Kumar. Me and friends have already started planning in this regard. Let’s save the country, lets kill the enemy even if it means riots with SC/ST/OBC
16-Apr-2006 at 5:23 pm
This sucks ..
and that asshole son of a bitch .. VP Singh .. should get some what like a RangDeBansanti act..
That moron started Mandal-I ..
Now there must be a serious protest against this..
Where we gonna go .. Paying 50,000 or more before getting into the nurserry school to get OBC certificate
Better give them free education if they excel ..
e.g if some OBC guy clear the CAT give him free education
This thing must end.. the whole reservation should go ..
17-Apr-2006 at 12:12 pm
To hell with these people who are threat to the nation, these should be burnt in the bonefireThey are showing the signs of India
to be ruined soon. How can someone do this for the sake of votes.
They are our political leaders, how can they take such decisions which are for the loss of general man.
They say that these people can’t afford good education,so seats should be reserved for them. Why can’t the problem be solved otherwise.Govt. should run institutes for providing free coaching to them so that can fairly compete at such level. For the sake of these people, deserving candidates should not be slaughtered…………….i on the behalf of masses strongly oppose this decision for this will prove to be a hurdle in nation’s progress………………

DIFFERENT STROKES
Why Gandhi Lost And Ambedkar Won
By Shivam Vij
06 December, 2004
Countercurrents.org
Some gentlemen, who happened to belong to what the Constitution of India calls “Scheduled Castes” and “Scheduled Tribes”, got together and built a building called Gaurav Apartments in the east Delhi locality of Patparganj. About two-third flats in Gaurav Apartments are occupied by Dalits and ‘tribals’. The remaining flats remain vacant as upper caste (UC) individuals are forewarned about this by (UC) property dealers.
This is the true nature of caste discrimination: it operates via exclusivism. We won’t live with you, we won’t eat with you, and we won’t socialize with you. So it should not be surprising that such marginalisation extends to the job market. A businessman who refuses to rent a flat in Gaurav Apartments, would he ever give a job to a Dalit at his office? Unlikely. He will say that “they” lack “talent”, are not educated enough, and so on.
The reason why we hardly see Dalits around us, or in public life, is that we have kept ‘them’ away from ‘us’, and continue to do so. Reservations in government jobs and institutions of higher education,
however, created a small Dalit middle class and did what had never happened before: made some Dalits and UC’s participants of the same social universe.
I saw this personally in two cases, cases that gave me this perspective and helped me reject the anti-reservations anger of the people around me. In my school in Lucknow I had a classmate, Abhijeet Yadav, whose father was a bureaucrat who had obviously benefited from post-Mandal reservations. Although Yadavs are a middle castes (OBC’s), the classroom had a prejudice against him, expressed in the all-encompassing term ‘chamaar’. Abhijeet was not a ‘chamaar’, but that was exactly what he was called whenever he would enter into a brawl with someone in class. Our ignorance about the difference between a ‘chamaar’ and a ‘Yadav’ was matched by our ignorance about our own castes, Many of us found ourselves asking our ‘progressive’ parents as to what castes we belonged to. I, for one, turned out be a Khatree. I never understood what it meant.
By the time we gave our board exams, we had matured enough to realize that we just can’t do this to Abhijeet, for reasons of political correctness or the fear of a backlash from a bureaucrat, if nothing else. But by then Abhijeet had been harassed enough (in typical public school method) to not only turn into a bully but also dropped his surname in the high school examination. He must have thought to himself: if my classmates in an elite missionary school can do this to me, my surname on the mark sheet would always beget discrimination and prejudice. Such a clash was happening because it was the first time we were coming in contact with someone who was suffering, in the twentieth century, from the sanction given by Manu to the caste system. Abhijeet’s turning into a bully was a way of saying, ‘I refuse to become a victim figure’.
This was a failure, too, of the education system: our textbooks never told us much about caste.
And then, a neigbour of ours sold his house. The entire colony was saddened that the new occupants belonged to the caste of ‘mochees’ or cobblers. Both husband and wife were in government jobs, obviously reserved for them, but the gossip in the street was that one of their kin was still a mochee. Someone went to the previous occupants and regretted: “Kin ganday logon ko apnay makaan de diya hai. Why have you given the house to such despicable people?”
The family in turn could smell this. They decided to throw a party. This was their way of finding out who was casteist and who was not: there were some who made polite excuses and did not attend. But as the family’s acceptability in the locality grew, everyone made amends by visiting them and calling them over.
In both cases, the entry of ‘low’ caste individuals and their families into the (UC) “mainstream” took place because of reservations in government jobs. Before this could adequately happen across India, the Indian state decided that jobs and resources were to be transferred to the private sector. Jobs in the private industry, even in the highest levels of the organized sector, often depend upon who knows whom. When you move in your own society, you think you never discriminate against anyone else.
So how do you solve the problem of Dalits? Indian industry, despite its pretensions of corporate social responsibility, is unlikely to take initiative. Unlike American corporations that believe in “diversity”, hire and train individuals from minority communities (including immigrants from India), Indian industry is unlikely to volunteer. The government must step in, as it intends to do very soon.
The Congress party has obviously learnt from its past mistakes in promising reservations in the private sector. The Congress once dominated over Indian politics. We had a virtually one-party regime. The Congress would ideally embrace all political aspirations within itself, thus becoming a microcosm of Indian society. That explains the presence of Nehru and Patel in the same party, in the same government. But the Congress failed to do this with Dalits and ST’s in northern India. Christopher Jaffrelot (India’s Silent Revolution, Permanent Black, 2003), meticulously shows how the Congress in north India failed to raise a Dalit leadership, and remained dominated by UC’s.
This led to the rise of caste-based parties such as those that we identify with Mayawati, Mulayam Singh Yadav, and Laloo Prasad Yadav. Gandhi called them ‘Harijans’ or the Children of God. They found it condescending, and coined the term ‘Dalit’, meaning oppressed. Instead of UC’s stooping down and offering tea and sympathy, caste was pre-destined to be challenged from bottom-to-top. In the end Gandhi lost and Ambedkar won.
The urban elites of north India detests ‘low’ caste leaders, calls them names, and accuse them of being casteist. If the same elites refuse to live in an apartment full of Dalits, then that’s not casteism. This is why Mayawati keeps calling everyone ‘Manuwaadi’, because everyone is Manuwaadi. The statues of Ambedkar that she keeps installing all over UP, earn scorn from the elites. They say it amounts to squandering public money. But for Dalits these statues symbolise power and social security. These statues across UP are vandalized every time Mayawati goes out of power. When Dalits from all
over India are brought for a BSP rally to Lucknow, they are immensely proud to see the gigantic Ambedkar statue at the Ambedkar Udayan, grandly seated exactly like Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial. In her rallies, Mayawati declares, “Main chamarin hoon. Main chamaar ki beti hoon. I am a chamaar. I am the daughter of a chamaar.” She chooses to use the derogatory term ‘chamaar’ as a matter of political assertion. To hear this is a moment of great pride for her Dalit “votebank”. She is appealing to them to use the ballot to elect a chamaar like them into power. Although realpolitik has forced her to become less radical, there was a time when Mayawati’s pet slogan was “Tilak, tarazu aur talwaar/ Maro inko jootay chaar!” My translation: ‘Curse be upon the Brahmin, Baniya and Kshatriya castes.’ Identity politics at its best. (My personal admiration for Mayawati also has to do with her self-appointment as ‘Behen’, or sister, when it would have been so easy to construct her as a ‘mother goddess’ in a mother-fixated nation. But the elites simply dismiss her as BMW, Behen
Mayawati.)
Mayawati, Mulayam and Laloo symbolise political empowerment of ‘low’ castes, without which you would have had, by now, a million Naxalite mutinies in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. But economic empowerment continues to elude large masses of Dalits. The story has just begun.

Much is been said on ground of meritotious. Really this so called upper caste are meritorious, is it…………..
So how come india got enslaved for so long.
why till date we do not have any indian einstein.
why we are not economically devloped.
why tamilnadu state did not went into oblivion since brahims were forced out long ago.
Its just crap, nothing more can expect from the sons and daughters of so called self proclaimed upper caste.
Kshastriyas did not went thru humiliation for not safegaurding india. On contrary they started sending their womenfolks to Mughals and Britishers so that they could be saved. This is height when one loose fight with oponent you marry your daughters and want to make believe that they were very human to them & their pride multiply’s (smile).
Brahmans, those who always eat by begging from others but yes they love to call this bhiksha. They sell god and make thier livings. because of all thier panditings , india went thru one of the most blodiest and shameless time. - We do not want to repeat now.
Vaisha’s could only fool those who were handicapped by all means. If meritorious then India should be rich. They require level field from govt so that they could compete.
The above castes are existing on earth by the mercy and kindness of the OBC, SC and ST.
Its OBC, SC & ST who are the survival of fittest. It is this chunk which makes india, they have taken few strides and so have india progressed and its these very honourable clan which has given their blood and sweat in making this country.
Those who could never oppose any outsiders are today trying to lecture, they pass out from india from the money provided by OBC, SC & ST and then go to be labours of europeans. This is your way of leaving, stop this dallal culture.
Its high time that OBC, SC and ST bear this rotten part of society, for any society to make stride have to get rid of the ailments / dys -functional part. The sooner the better.

Last two msgs are really eye opener. Now we exactly know how ‘THEY’ feel about us. lets give them equal opportunity. Dear om kumar … can you ask all of your cast and all other who are the backward class –> not to take any benefit from goverment as you are better. can you stop begging ?
28-Apr-2006 at 12:30 am
Dear om kumar can you stop all the backward class from taking the benefit because of their cast.
THEY ARE SELLING THEIR CAST…AND BEGGING ALSO.
28-Apr-2006 at 1:35 pm
What a rubish idea is in the mind of our poleticians. At once they talk about equality and the same time they talk about reservation and try to divide india on the cast basis.
The litracy rate india of India is still very poor and it will suerly not rise by providing quota in IIT, IIM’s,JNU,DU etc.but it will improve by introduing it at primary level It’s naked truth that all this “sarvsiksha abhian” and Some other program like this are major failure of our goverment.
The prime idea behind reservation is that the politicians are just catering for their vote banks.
The institutes like IIT IIM’s are not the private property of goverment so whatever they want they will introduce in these institutes.
The fund which they are talking about with which they run these institutes are of general public and not there personal property. And the resistance his government had faced over the Mandal commission is not from a poletical party but from general public.
The reservations should be based on economic status and at the primary level. There should be upliftment of the weaker sections but that has to be done effectively at primary and secondary levels of education and not to instanlly prmote them to IIT and IIM’s.
02-May-2006 at 2:38 pm
It is a matter of great shame that most of you people are taking it lying down. Please leave the comforts of your home and get on the streets to protest against this sick reservation policy. The government will not see your blog. If you are interested in making a difference then get on the streets and fight the enemy. Only 1000 students protesting reservation, what the hell. Is this the number of students that oppose reservation? If you oppose it then show it.
02-May-2006 at 4:38 pm
Well, you wouldnt have found this place if there was no blog entry about it…and this makes more people aware about whats happening…
05-May-2006 at 1:42 pm
i am deeply saddened by the whole affair. actually i am studying abroad so it will be easy for me to comment and probably u won’t regard this message. but, when i prepared my mind to go abroad, many people would say that i would have to face ‘racism’. i tell them that if i have to face racism in my own country then what the hell is abroad diffrent? at least i assure u they don’t discriminate on the basis of ‘race’ in technical studies and the whole emphasis, especially in medical studies, is on merit because the lives of people are at stake dammit. i read a couple of pro-reservation blogs there. i want to tell them them that since i am a brahmin, i am suffering for something which my ancestors did. but why the hell do u have to benefit for some pain ur ancestors went through. after all, taking away my food and giving to the homeless is not a permanent solution for the famine? is it? especially if earned through hard afforts. so my friend please know or read about the french student’s revolt against the government and think about it. our country seems to be going back in time.
05-May-2006 at 8:29 pm
Dear Gops & Gopal and all other friends,
Thanks for the comment.
Well its neither selling of cast or for that matter nor its of begging from this under previleged community. India (read the govt) is of people and these are the major chunk of the india / in other words they make india. Its their right and they are taking it which is long overdue. In present scenario of the various communities living in india the reservation is necessary so that they get the platform / level playing field.
Those who are begging and crying foul you find daily on the TV screen and on streets.
If you find yourself to be so meritorious then you have enough place to be on this earth and try to get addmission on merit in Europe or any other parts of World.
Some Facts on Merit:
Due to less no of seats , the colleges and institute has kept the bar
for admission higher ………for filteration.. its supply & demand, but never it says that they are not eligible…
Those who take addmission in pvt colleges have far lesser marks than those joining by the reservation.
Going by your view of meritorious all pvt colleges should be closed. By the way the genrally students passing from pvt colleges are better off than those who pass from the govt colleges on merit (commonly from any community).
On the one hand we want to do away with numeric uno in exams… and want to bring grade system then do few marks less counts in reality, is this the yardstick of measuring the genius…. sorry its not true …….. its purely garbage.
Those who come out of the pvt colleges have better life than those section who may be brighter in studies / school / colleges etc but are not from healthy social background. But the same is not true with their next generation and they enjoy / are comfortable and progress with time at same rate of change of time.
There is no comparison between those living in AC house and those studying in Hut.
As in world 99 %age of the words are comparative so is the case with work
99 %age of the work is monotomy and does not require any genius…. by the way how manny genius passed or faired academically forget about them being gold medalist.
The same section who talks of meritocracy on TV’s and try to project themselves as some greater being…………. why at any flick of hat goes running in the name of level playing field …… asking for the platform……… as the case was with our Industries they asked for reservation and level playing field to compete with their far better counterparts. Even now too, shall we open our economy without any ridder, in that case can these same holy cow … the champions of meritocracy can sustain their existence for even a day…. no they shall cease to exist.
If merit were the case then the most devloped state should have been Bihar from where more no of students pass UPSC and the mineral, manpower, fertile land, river and not the least history rich state, should be enjoying the prosperity & peace (read its subject)
…. but that is not the case its Gujarat which is enjoying the progress but compared to Bihar hardly gujarati’s study. Or for that matter any north eastern states in India are rich with all resources.
For really India to progress its necessary to have reservation presently (already it has been delayed for too long). Though for any such issues there will be a very negligible section who may have to take some pain for a while then its always the case in society on that matter. What India (read Indian’s too) are striding globallly is because of nearly 50 years of reservation from the rest of the world and were made competent so that they can face globally and then why shy away when the same is required to be done domestically.
Reservation is must for the upliftment of all the underprivileged section. Maybe in coming future it may cease its requirement then it can be done away with, but today its must or rather say (again) its long overdue and should be brought at the earliest.
India today is not devloped because of any upper caste progress but its due to the progress made by other than these caste. Majority makes the society .. say civilisation and if they are not devloped how can that society be…. state…region…or country can develope.
Its fact that we were slave to manny rulers because of the upper caste till date from time immemorial and thanks to britishers that they ruled us but also gave us our present India.
Let the reservation come and be implemented at ground level and then see after 20 / 30 years, We shall find India much more stronger & devloped in all spheres.
The doctor who was called in to operate both for Mr Vajpayee and Mr Mahajan (recently) are from SC, ST and so pls stop this malicious propaganda that SC & ST are not meritotious…. forget yourself being compared to OBC.
This talk of meritocracy is baseless and misleading in present case of the society for the Reservation Issue.
Hats off to these communities men & women, son’s and
daughters which shows the immense courage , restraint and greater
degree of societial maturity and highest respect for human values unmatched, unparalled in world………once again even in the post 60 years of formation of independent india ,by going very democratic way in taking their right that too from minority bloody hegemonistic caste who till date are fit for nothing …… though they have there complete monopoly.
Even the great American society (whom i have great respect)
which being the foremost advocacy of human values (read equality) champion’s too , rightly though (read necessiated) had to resort to crudest civil war to bring the societial inequality….. to equillibrium. Though even today it has not accomplished wholly.
Thanks & Regards
Om.

[...] First it was about Quota System in IIT/IIM and now they want quotas in private institutions too. The time has come to say “Hey, good news, now we have 50% reservations for open castes” [...]
12-May-2006 at 10:44 pm
The Quota system in the USA has given the African American the change to be the best . Which is why you see so may African American running Police department and Government departments and other businesses. Not bad if you think about it. Only 50 year ago white and blanks couldn’t even site or work next to each other.
In India 50% of children leave school before the age of 11 and only 10% go on to Uni . I would like to know what percentage of each government department or private company is made up off each cast. It about time those treated less than animals for the last 20.000 years get a change to make the most of the lives. And those who apply for a job with their father and mother name , occupation and cast find their CV in the bin. I wonder how may of the message on this internet are by member of the lower member of the Indian society who don’t have access to the internet or access to bitch in English ?
12-May-2006 at 10:47 pm
by the way were are all the earth-shattering discoveries or inventions for your hard working student ?

I suggest you read this : if you interest
http://www.theotherindia.org/
“If you cannot take first-class education and opportunity to the backward class/caste, then you must take the backwards to the first-class opportunity.”

Anti-reservationists talk about “merit”. But do they pause to think what exactly is “merit”? Everyone knows that marks are not merit because marks depend upon your ability to access best tuitions and expensive teaching shops like the ones found in the city of Kota. If your father has the money (blacK) to send you to Kota where they will programme you (like they programme monkeys to do tricks) to crack the entrance exams then you will have merit. Those who do not have this are the non-meritorious types.
So, in my view as long as there is the “Kota system” we also need the “Quota system”
Moreover what are all these doctors shouting in the streets for? Our medical system, so far dominated by these so-called merit-wallahs, is in shambles. No one want to go and serve in the rural areas and all these doctors want is to make money. The easiest certificate to get is a medical certificate by just paying 10 to 20 rupees to these merit-doctors. These meritorious doctors are killing people right left and centre so much so that recently a new born baby was declared dead by one of these meritorious doctors even though the child was living. In another case another meritorious doctor amputated the left leg when it was the right leg that had to be amputated.
So what are we talking about anyway ?
We need reservations to get out of this merit-created mess.

Reservation what for? How can you compromise with merit for a profession on which depends the life and health of people? If Mr Arjun Singh is so much concerned about the OBCs then why does he not give financial support to those who belong to the economically backward class. Since 50 years we are having this stupid system of reservation and quota for OBCs. Someone who has taken benefit of this then has now become an administrative officer, doctor, engineer and is economically strong enough to give his son best of education. Why can’t his son or daughter fight for his status of merit now, why he needs to have the mercy of governmental policies to become a doctor. Don’t they have any self respect whatsoever? OBCs think it over otherwise you will always be at the mercy of the upper castes and be a beggar throughout as it used to be in earlier days.

I would just like to ask one question… are we talking about equal rights to each and every human..?? or each and every Caste??..
Let me tell you… the students in school are from each caste and creed.. whether they are Chaturvedi or they are Yadavs they are treated equally and are given the same education..
These students study for the same exams and are graded equally according to their performance…
But when it comes to providing admissions, the govt. tends to have a bias…The govt policies tends to favour a particular Caste…
Please tell me an OBC studying in DPS or any other private school needs any reservation..?? is he being oppressed…??
Also kindly make me undersatnd if a poor Brahmin boy studying at Govt. School along with other OBC students have better opprtunities..??
And Let me tell you I am a I.P. Extension Resident, lives in an apartment near to gaurav apartments for 10 years…. also to add here that my relatives and friends do live in Gaurav apartments… and by no means the Apartment is Looked down upon.. whosoever has that kind of an opinion might be having a bad excpetional experience but in general its not so!!.
I just fail to understand how is equality given to each and every human here… The govt. is missing the trick over here…
Why to divide our society into castes…??? In a way by reservations are not we applying the same Caste system even stongly…
The reservation system was introduced in Constitution but the reservations was not to be more than 40% if I am right..
The Time then and Now have drastic differences…
If the reservation uptill now hav had an impact then The state of OBC ’s would have improved and then there should not be a need to increase reservation rather the reservation should reduce accordingly…
And if the reservation has made no impact on there state then the reservation Policy is simply a failure… the policy should be taken away with an immediate effect…
Any Policy that favours a Category of ppl. instead of a entire class of humans is a Curse to the Society…
Lastly, I must confess that I didnt voted the last elections, the time has come that we must realise the power of our vote…

in a coaching institute where I study, there are 23 quota students & 29 general in my batch.we r getting the same platform to perform but only 2 of the quota candidates are good.while we general candidates are not secure abt our future our quota peers are already planning for a bash.i am against quota as it does not percolate down to the ppl who really deserve & need it.

Dear friends
I am an ex IIT and NRI away from India for few decades. I am rather pained to see these politicians in India still rely on caste/creed for their vote banks. When India is really is coming up as an economic giant, educated Indian youth returning to mother land, we have this dirty tricks by an imbecile Govt. You must see for yourself how much India has gained in popularity abroad in the recent years thanks to our efficient and intellectual youth. In higher education (uni & above) should be based only on merit. You can grant any amount of money to poor students and that should be the only consideration in the education.
I am rather pained to see after having read Indian history vividly. Probably we are still under oppression by our own men after 1000 years of foreign oppression.
Let God save the Great India. I was hoping to see India as a super power…looks like a long shot with so many retrograde steps by our wothless politicians.
Long Live India

I would like to congratulate Sunil and hope that many more Sunils come up with the same viewpoint. May you have your sense of dignity and equality restored. To all OBC fraternity I have one request WIN EQUAL RIGHTS- you are in no way inferior to the caste Hindus- go ahead and prove it. Just slap the politicians tight on their face who are trying to frame you as Backward Class. Stand up united and enter the competitive world win your place by your own right and not as a mercy from these selfish politicians. 59 years have passed and yet we are in the same dark situation- WHY?

Please read these comments to know how important it is to stop the reservations and get rid of the caste system.
”We are the only nation in the world, where people fight to be called backward rather than forward.”
- Narayan Murthy
“India is ready to discuss racism as long as it is in other countries, but not caste in its own backyard.”
- Dipankar Gupta, professor of sociology , J.N.U. New Delhi
”In place of appealing for removal and abolishing this old curse on India, all the Indians have been shamelessly accepting the caste system imposed upon by their Religion. People are fighting against the reservation quota. Is there a single sensible person who wants to fight against the caste system which is the main reason for the quota ? ”
- Damien Rebello
Caste conscious lunatics and live in this lunatic asylum, of course against our will, and ‘blessed’ with an eternal curse of associating with the insane. The Indian caste system is pointedly diabolical. It is a real curse.
- Swami Vivekananda
Year 2006 : Indian newspapers carry daily stories of atrocities against Dalits or young couples being killed, sometimes by their own families, for daring to fall in love with someone from another caste. The caste based communities in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have militants to terminate people belonging to the other caste. In spite of all this the Indians think that they are making progress.
- from DailyNews U.K.
Nobody is saying that the caste system should be praised, for it has indeed degenerated India’s self-pride.
- Francois Gautier
Without question, caste system is the curse for India, and it has humiliated millions through the ages. Caste is India’s sorrow, the apartheid that makes Indians hang their heads in shame. Caste serves as the prime reason for conversions even today.
- Barbara Crossette
So you see to what extent this disgraceful caste system has taken us? Our political parties trade on it, our governments use it, our police connive at it. There is a nexus of criminals, police and government, as everybody knows, and we suffer.
- Shri Parthasarathi
India’s real curse lies in the fact that, 57 years after Independence, people continue not only to face daily injustices, but they can be murdered, raped and viciously humiliated merely because they have tried to break out of the caste trap to assert their rights as equal beings.

HINDUISM IS GOONDAISM
Now let us see what is history of meritorious Hinduism.
Prior to Buddha and Mahavira, in vedic times our Aryan upper caste ppl used to conduct yagya which involved lighting a fire & doing stuti (praise) of various gods like agni.
Afterwards they used to do sacrifice ( give BALI) of animals such as horse, goat and COW .
The meat of sacrificed animals was distributed as prasad.
In other words cow slaughter was considered good & auspicious by so called upper caste meritorious , educated, aryan religious people.
In some yagya MANAV BALI was also practiced . Dont know what they did with the meat. This practice exists even today in tantric witchcraft clandestinely.
So we can say that , that time was like African tribal system of cannibalism practiced by our so called forward upper caste Aryans.
Buddha & Mahavira strongly objected to BALI and professed non violence to all life forms.
In fact , for the very first time Buddha said
Stop cow slaughter
Cow give us milk , butter and ghee
Cow is a very gentle animal
Cow is like a mother , Gau Mata
Buddha influenced kings of those times to completely eradicate cow slaughter. Buddha is the first Gau rakshak.
Buddha was considered as a guru of all gods and brahma at that time.
His teaching are known as Dharma Sutra (tipitak) which were very much detailed on what is right & wrong & how to meditate & attain moksha.
Buddha never hated low caste. He said he wanted progress of all castes.
His chief deciples were brahmin, kshatria, vaishya & ALSO SHUDRA.
Many shudras became arihant ( the highest title)
Chandragupta Maurya & his gradson king Ashoka were from shudra (surprising)
So India was ruled by shudras in buddhist period.
Alexander from Greece (europe) invaded india & defeated upper caste king Porus in north west.
IT WAS CHANDRAGUPTA MAURYA A SHUDRA KING WHO DEFEATED ALEXANDER FROM EUROPE.
Chandragupta Maurya fought Alexander and made him & his army to leave india who died in Iran from a wound he received in india.
So shudras were capable of defeating europians.
His grandson Ashoka (also shudra) expanded the indian empire from Afghanistan to Burma. India never was so large in areal extent in the entire history till date. Also at that time india was the richest ( thats why Alexander came). Indians were trading all over the world.
We can say that India was like present day america at that time of shudra rulers. Ashoka was instrumental in spread of Buddhism to far eastern countries.
FAR EAST COUNTRIES ADOPTED BUDDHISM , TODAY THEY ARE RICH, ADVANCED AND PROGRESSIVE.
Look in & around your house. Observe how many things are from Japan, Korea, China, Thailand , Taiwan Buddhist countries. These are gifts from Buddha. That way even Delhi metro is a gift from Buddha as it is aided by Japan & built by Korean expertise.
All this progress happened because Buddha & Mahavira injected a new moral sense into indian social system which opposed the age old brahmins system of considering brahmin as a god for the purpose of making him rich in the process. We can say that india was shining in golden age of Buddhism.
Of course the Aryan upper caste were worried for the fear of being marginalized like today.
And they conspired. After 500 years of buddha, Patanjali(a brahmin) became Maha purohit (chief priest) of King Pushya mitra shung(a Brahmin king). Patanjali (father of hindu yoga) plagiarized / stole the intellectual knowledge of buddhism and created his own Patanjal Yog Sutra. It is 75% buddhist.
Pushya mitra shung was commander in chief of last Mauryan king Brhadrata. Pushya mitra Shung(Brahmin) killed Brhadrata while he was inspecting guard of honor & took over the throne (185 BC). Pushya mitra Shung(Brahmin) hated Buddhists so much that he slaughtered them en masse. He set a prize of 100 gold coins on every dead Buddhist monk’s head. He destroyed 84000 buddhist stupas built by Ashoka. This is the true spirit of Brahmins. They are given important positions thru merit. Later on they act like devils. Beware.
After that many other hindu texts were written promoting superstition. After that the hindu kings started ignoring buddhism. Brahmins on one side and buddhist/ Jains on other side were opposed to each other intellectually.
Brahmins got the chiefs of buddhists & jains killed later on. That was the time Adi Shankara existed. There was so much massacre of Buddhists & Jains that their bodies were taken away in many carts. Buddhists & Jains practiced ahinsa (non violence) , so they were eliminated.
Brahmins collected all the manuscripts and teachings of buddhists & jains and it was burnt in fire.
While hindus today consider muslim rule of moguls as barbaric, bloody & oppressive , they ignore the fact about what they did to Buddhists & Jains.
Original Buddhist teachings were completely eliminated from india and it is simply not available anywhere even today. Later on Jains adopted a trick , they took hindu literature , eliminated hindu teachings and inserted Jain teachings and called it Jain literature. Due to this trick hindus accepted Jainism as part of Hinduism as it exits today.
Between 0 AD to 500 AD most of the hindu literature like sankhya, upanishad, vedanta was written. It is suspected that these were nothing but condensed teachings of buddha which conspiring brahmins changed it to suite their purpose. And since Buddhist knowledge was eliminated , common man had no choice to compare it. They even adopted Buddhist practices such as vegetarianism, respecting cow as mother, shaving the head etc. because these were accepted already by masses.
Another brahmin , Vatsayana wrote Kama Sutra praising sex which is in opposition to Buddha. According to Buddha brahmacharya (celibacy/ control on sexual behavior) was the very first step towards good morality and a door to higher learning. Kama sutra is one of the most popular book at the global scale, today.
UPPER CASTE ARYAN HINDU KINGS WERE FIGHTING AMONG THEMSELVES THAT IS WHAT MADE INDIA WEAK( DIVIDED WE FALL).
The result of upper caste aryan rule after buddhism was worship of brahmins and idols, unlimited superstitions and spread of fear of mantra, tantra by brahmins, untouchability, sati, making widows life miserable, in benaras poor widows were even used as as prostitutes.
What is the proof Go to Khajuraho temple in MP. Go to Konark sun temple in orissa near puri. The xxx postures of idols in temple represent deterioration of hindu morality. Aaj Tak TV channel showed shameful sexual acts of pandas in swaminarayan temple.
Brahmins were exempted from any sin. In other words Brahmin cannot sin, so even if he rapes or kills or does anything he commits no sin. The present day statistics will tell you that worst criminals are from upper caste.
THIS IS THE MEANING OF DARK AGE – HINDU RULE by Upper Caste
The hindu dark age made Indians morally, intellectually weak since it was based on andh vishwas, idol worship & upper caste Aryans were busy reaping a windfall of wealth by exploiting working class. The temples were full of gold – it was the poor mans sweat & blood. At the same times a new religion islam spread. Its powerful invaders pounced upon morally weak Indians. When Mohammed bin Kasim attacked sindh, its Brahmin king was busy in a tantric yagya to kill the enemy. The yagya did nothing & the king lost his head & his kingdom. The same superstitious attitude prevailed all over India who believed that tantra mantra can do everything. Slowly islam spread. Many low caste & backward people adopted it as it offered equal social status. So one of the reason of conversion was tyranny of upper caste Hinduism. Even Kashmir problem was created in this period , its king was a Buddhist who wanted to convert to Hinduism. But the kashmiri pundits objected , the king became angry & he converted to Islam and made his kashmiri people to convert too.
Later on British came. There was mutiny of 1857 which failed because many rulers like Scindhias (Brahmins) of Gwalior helped british. Jhansi ki Rani Laxmibai fought british. She left Jhansi on horseback with her adopted infant son tied to her back. Schindias of gwalior deceived her. They closed the gates of their fort. Laxmibai fought bravely but was cut down to pieces finally being left alone. Today same schindias descendents are enjoying power. Why? They are meritorious upper caste hindu Brahmins. It is said that hindu mahasabha was favoring british. The same has converted to Jansangh & its other hindu offshoots(VHP RSS BJP). Their aim is to see that upper caste Aryan hindus (preferably Brahmin) always remain in power along with the control on country’s wealth & resources.
Killings of indo-pak partition were due to rigidity & unsociability practiced by upper caste Aryans on muslims & low caste people. Conversion happened due to this only, as it is stated earlier. Another Brahmin , Nehru messed up so much that Kashmir was torn into three pieces like a cat is caught between teeth of many dogs. Kashmir problem is a creation of upper caste, meritorious, educated , aryan , religious HINDUS. Gandhi was truly righteous but he made one mistake. He made a Brahmin (Nehru) a PM instead of Jinnah because Nehru was adamant. And who was Nehru , a son of a very rich man whose garments used to be washed in Paris. A person who used to go to Europe for holidaying. If Jinnah had become PM ,at least India would have remained united. Therefore bloodshed in time of partition is a creation of selfish upper caste, meritorious, educated , aryan , religious HINDUS. Nehru simply started a dynastic rule. Nehru was opposed to reservations & Ambedkar. He even said – “We have ensured that Brahmin should rule this country forever. He & his daughter Indira distributed FREE land to Brahmins for public schools which are meant for education of elite upper caste today.
In Indo Pak war of 1971 the defense minister was babu Jagjivan Ram, a dalit. And the army mostly (88%) comprises of SC/ST/OBC & muslims. Is it not an achievement by low castes.
Policies of Indira Gandhi could have created another partition in 84. She made Brahmins & Upper castes mostly as chief ministers such as Kamla pati Tripathi. There was very little industrial progress in her time. Indira Gandhi(Brahmin) & later her son Rajiv started borrowing huge international aid for funding govt. schemes. By earlier 90’s , the economy became very poor & on the verge of collapse due to the meritorious , upper caste , Brahmins rule. India was on the verge of debt trap( i.e. borrowing for the sake of paying). It was Dr.Manmohan Singh ( a non Brahmin ) who created an about turn in economy which is an tremendous achievement of a non hindu.
BJP won on the issue of nationalism. It’s a pro hindu party. They sowed the seeds of another partition & hindu muslim separation by demolishing Babri mosque. Their govt in Gujrat killed 2000 – 3000 people on false pretext. Their skeletons are still being found. BJP started selling assets of country in the name of sick companies divestment. Instead they hurriedly sold off best & highly profitable companies such as VSNL at low price. These companies will be eventually be bought by multinationals. This is meritorious , upper caste hindu rule.
DALIT COUNTRY’S PROGRESS?
Pakistan is a consequence of this rigid hindu exploitative attitude only. Considering that earlier only SC/ST/OBC people became muslims , Pakistan maybe considered as a country of converted dalits & backwards. They have 6% reservation for scheduled caste. Today Pakistan is progressive. There may be issues of disagreements between India & Pak , but their origins lie in vote bank politics/ power on both sides. The politicians today are very keen on developing good understanding between two because peace means progress. Today Pakis have satellite launching capability, nuclear arms , what not. Are not these dalit achievements ? Whereas in India we have people who eat rats for survival in bihar. Because thousands of crores of money released by govt. for welfare of SC/ST etc. ends up in wrong hands thru corruption by upper caste hindu politicians & bureaucrats for the purpose of filling pockets of parties & also theirs. And may be going out to swiss a/c for funding elections. How it happens is very organized, schemes are created, run and completed on paper only. False receipts are generated. Ask the govt & they will show statistics having details of grand achievements in welfare. Earlier PM Rajiv Gandhi himself admitted that only 10% money reaches the needy & poor. And the poor remains poor. The ruling upper class has maintained a vulture like attitude as always. If there is a disaster (earthquake, displacement by big dams, typhoons, tsunami , disease, poison gas tragedy etc.) , the upper caste politicians & bureaucrats become very happy & get themselves involved in it. Why? the aid will be cornered to fill their pockets thru corruption / false receipts. The most visible sign of such corruption is very poor condition of roads in the interiors of India considering that huge funds are available to state govts. So much that they are not even able to spend them. Some people say that SC/ST people are also in power & bureaucracy. But they don’t know that such people are always given unimportant positions, ignored & kept in postings of trivial matters.
REPRESSION OF LOW CASTES GOES ON
In rural areas couples are killed by village authorities (panchayats) just for love & marriage between low & high caste.
In Haryana 5 dalits were killed just because they were transporting naturally died cows 5 years back.
The low caste people attending colleges are deliberately given low grades/marks by including their failure grades in averaging since their identities are known.. Example : a student gets A grade in 3rd attempt so gets fail(0) fail(0) A grade(100) => (0 0 100)/3 = 33% marks only while possessing A grade knowledge (IITs etc). Similarly in PG entrance in AIIMS , upper caste students get admission with low marks compared to low caste students due to monopoly & politics. Low castes are hardly given entrance to MD, only diploma is given. Gold medals in nearly all the medical colleges are politically influenced & given by college management to politically linked students.
MERIT OF UPPER CASTE
R.K.Sharma (Brahmin) IG , haryana(police chief) killed Shivani bhatnager by his own hands by telephone wire, & is in jail.
R.Sharma(Brahmin) police chief(Maharastra) shifted old printing blocks as scrap & ink also to print fake currency & stamp papers as good as original. Total worth more than 3000 CRORE.
One Brahmin Police IG, Orissa , sexually abused a poor tribal girl & shown on TV also using hidden camera in 2005.
One Sharma , a serial killer , killed many girls & had sex with their dead bodies later ( reported on TV on 28 may 06)
Manu Sharma (grand son of Shanker dayal Sharma ) killed Jessica Lal in a pub just for a drink.
Dr. Saptarishi Dey in Calcutta sexually exploited his patients in the name of rehabilitation.25 May 06.
Amarmani tripathi ex,minister UP, conspired to kill Madhumita , ex lover.
EARLIER SANSKRIT WAS A MONOPOLIZING MEDIUM
Manu smiriti was also written in the hindu dark age after Buddhism which says that if a shudra listens to even a single word of Vedas , molten lead should be poured into his ears. In other words education was made a monopoly of aryan upper caste which exists even today in the form of public schools. In those times Sanskrit was used as a medium to monopolize education because it was a difficult language. Its interpretation was given only by Brahmins so whatever they said u have to believe it. For example every translation of Gita in Hindi is different.
TODAY ENGLISH IS THE MONOPOLIZING MEDIUM
Today English is used for monopolizing education. All higher education is in English. Most low caste & backward people study in government school which teach in hindi/local language in the name of matra bhasha (Mother tongue). In UP even BSc is taught in hindi. When such students take exams of engineering , medical , IIM etc. they r always at the bottom. Mother tongue should be respected & taught at small scale. But not in this manner of making poor SC/ST/OBC people intellectually handicap. The public schools (actually private) interview the students and their parents. Parents have to fill a form which requires them to reveal their economic & social status, links with politicians & bureaucrats. In other words schools want to know their caste for the purpose of filtering them out. This is Upper Caste Aryan Hindu Apartheid rule even today in the form of so called merit. We deplore it. This is Goondaism.
The Ashok Chakra in Indian flag is Buddhist sign it represents a great meritorious rule by a shudra king Ashoka which established after defeating europians (Alexander) which spanned from Afghanistan to Burma.
YES LOW CASTE WERE TRULY MERITORIUS WE ARE PROUD OF IT.
Come out from the darkness of Hindu exploitation who will dump u when u r in need.
NAMO BUDDHAYE
Buddham Sharnam Gacchami
Dhammam Sharnam Gacchami
Sangham Sharnam Gacchami
Extracts from the Manusmriti
The great sages approached Manu, who was seated with a collected mind, and, having duly worshipped him, spoke as follows:
Divine one, to declare to us precisely and in due order the sacred laws of each of the [four] castes [varnas] and of the intermediate ones.
For the sake of the prosperity of the worlds he [Brahma] caused the Brahmin, the Kshatriya, the Vaisya and the Shudra to proceed forth from his mouth, his arms, his thighs and his feet. But in order to protect this universe, He, the most resplendent one[Brahma], assigned separate [duties and] occupations to those who sprang from his mouth, arms, thighs and feet.
To Brahmins he assigned teaching and studying [the Veda], sacrificing for their own benefit and for others, giving and accepting [of alms].
The Kshatriya he commanded to protect the people, to bestow gifts, to offer sacrifices, to study [the Veda], and to abstain from attaching himself to sensual pleasures.
The Vaisya to tend cattle, to bestow gifts, to offer sacrifices, to study [the Veda], to trade, to lend money, and to cultivate land.
One occupation only the lord prescribed to the Shudra, to serve meekly even these [other] three castes.
The Brahmin, Kshatriya and the Vaishya castes are the twice-born ones, but the fourth, the Shudra, has one birth only.
On account of his preeminence, on account of the superiority of his origin, on account of his observance of restrictive rules and on account of his particular sanctification, the Brahmin is the lord of [all] castes.
Let the three twice-born castes, discharging their [prescribed] duties, study [the Veda], but among them the Brahmin [alone] shall teach it, not the other two; that is an established rule.
As the Brahmin sprang from [Brahman’s] mouth, as he was the first-born, and as he possesses the Veda, he is by right the lord of this whole creation. A Brahmin, coming into existence, is born the highest on earth, the lord of all created beings, for the protection of the treasury of the law. Whatever exists in the world is the property of the Brahmin. On account of the excellence of his origin the Brahmin is, indeed, entitled to all.
Whatever law has been ordained for any [person] by Manu, that has been fully declared in the Veda, for that [sage was] omniscient.
Knowledge is the austerity of the Brahmin, protecting is the austerity of the Kshatriya, his daily business is the austerity of the Vaisya, and service [of the ‘upper’ castes] the austerity of a Shudra.
Let [the first part of] a Brahmin’s name [denote something] auspicious, a Kshatriya’s be connected with power, and a Vaisya’s with wealth, but a Shudra’s [express something] contemptible. [The second part of] a Brahmin’s [name] shall be [a word] implying happiness, of a Kshatriya’s [a word] implying protection, of a Vaisya’s [a term] expressive of thriving, and of a Shudra’s [an expression] denoting service.
Kshatriyas prosper not without Brahmins [and] Brahmins prosper not without Kshatriyas. Brahmins and Kshatriyas, being closely united, prosper in this [world] and in the next. But to serve Brahmins [who are] learned in the Vedas, householders and famous [for virtue] is the highest duty of a Shudra, which leads to beatitude. [A Shudra who is] pure, the servant of his betters, gentle in speech and free from pride and always seeks refuge with Brahmins, attains [in his next life] a higher caste.
The whole world is kept in order by punishment . [So] let him [the king] act with justice in his own domains, chastise his enemies, behave without duplicity towards his friends, and be lenient towards the Brahmins. The king has been created [to be] the protector of the castes and orders, who, all according to their rank, discharge their several duties. Let the king, after rising early in the morning, worship the Brahmins who are well-versed in the three-fold sacred science and learned and follow their advice . Though dying [with want] a king must not levy a tax on Srotriyas (priests) and no Srotriya residing in his kingdom must perish from hunger.
A king, desirous of investigating law cases, must enter his court of justice, preserving a dignified demeanor, together with Brahmins and with experienced councilors . A Brahmin who subsists only by the name of his caste or one who merely calls himself a Brahmin may, at the king’s pleasure, interpret the law to him, but never a Shudra. The kingdom of that monarch who looks on while a Shudra settles the law will sink [low] like a cow in a morass. That kingdom where Shudras are very numerous, which is infested by atheists and destitute of twice-born (’upper’ caste) [inhabitants], soon entirely perishes, afflicted by famine and disease.
[The king] should carefully compel Vaisyas and Shudras to perform the work [prescribed] for them; for if these two [castes] swerved from their duties, they would throw this [whole] world into confusion.
A Kshatriya, having defamed a Brahmin, shall be fined one hundred [panas]; a Vaisya one hundred and fifty or two hundred; a Shudra shall suffer corporal punishment.
A once-born man (Shudra) who insults a twice-born (’upper’ caste) man with gross invective, shall have his tongue cut out, for he is of low origin. If he mentions the names and castes of the [’twice-born’] with contempt, an iron nail, ten fingers long, shall be thrust red-hot into his mouth. If he [a Shudra] arrogantly teaches Brahmins their duty, the king shall cause hot oil to be poured into his mouth and into his ears.
A low-caste man who tries to place himself on the same seat with a man of high caste shall be branded on his hip and be banished, or [the king] shall cause his buttock to be gashed. (Any form of punishment for this ‘crime’).
If out of arrogance he [a Shudra] spits [on a superior] the king shall cause both his lips to be cut off.
If he [a Shudra] lays hold of the hair [of a superior] let the [king] unhesitatingly cut off his hands.
He who strikes [a Brahmin] even with a blade of grass . shall appease him by a prostration. But he who, intending to hurt a Brahmin, threatens [him with a stick and the like] shall remain in hell for a hundred years; he who [actually] strikes him [shall remain in hell] for a thousand years.
A Chandala (the ‘lowest’ caste), a village pig, a cock, a dog, a menstruating women and a eunuch must not look at the Brahmins when they eat.
Let him [a Brahmin] not dwell in a country where the rulers are Shudras . nor in one swarming with men of the lowest caste . Let him not give advice to a Shudra . for he who explains the sacred law [to a Shudra] or dictates him to a penance will sink together with that [man] into the hell [called] Asamvrita. Let him not recite [the Vedas] indistinctly, nor in the presence of Shudras .
When he [a Brahmin] has touched a Chandala, a menstruating woman, an outcast, a woman in childbed, a corpse or one who has touched [a corpse], he becomes pure by bathing . Let him not allow a dead Brahmin to be carried out by a Shudra while men of the same caste are at hand, for that burnt offering which is defiled by a Shudra’s touch is detrimental to [the deceased’s passage to] heaven.
A Brahmin who unintentionally approaches a woman of the Chandala or of [any other] very low caste, who eats [the food of such persons] and accepts [gifts from them] becomes an outcast, but [if he does it] intentionally he becomes their equal.
The dwellings of Chandalas and Svapakas [people of very ‘low’ caste] shall be outside the village and their wealth [shall be] dogs and donkeys. Their dress [shall be] the garments of the dead, [they shall eat] their food from broken dishes, black iron [shall be] their ornaments, and they must always wander from place to place . At night they shall not walk about in villages and in towns. By day they may go about for the purpose of their work, distinguished by marks at the king’s command, and they shall carry out the corpses [of persons] who have no relatives-that is a settled rule.
A man of low caste, who, through covetousness, lives by the occupations of a higher one, the king shall deprive of his property and banish. It is better to [discharge] one’s own [appointed caste] duty incompletely than to perform completely that of another; for he who lives according to the law of another [caste] is instantly excluded from his own . Let a [Shudra] serve Brahmins, either for the sake of heaven or with a view to both [this life and the next], for he who is called the servant of a Brahmin thereby gains all his ends. The service of Brahmins alone is declared [to be] an excellent occupation for a Shudra, for whatever else besides this he may perform will bear him no fruit.
No collection of wealth must be made a Shudra, even though he be able [to do it], for a Shudra who has acquired wealth gives pain to Brahmins.
He who has associated with outcasts, he who has approached the wives of other men and he who has stolen the property of a Brahmin becomes [after death] a brahmarakshas [fierce devil].
It is declared that a Shudra woman alone [can be] the wife of a Shudra, she and one of his own caste [the wives] of a Vaishya, those two and one of his own caste [the wives] of a Kshatriya, those three and one of his own caste [the wives] of a Brahmin . Twice-born (’upper’ caste) men, who, in their folly, wed wives of the low [Shudra] caste soon degrade their families and their children to the state of Shudras. According to Atri and to [Gautama] the son of Uthaya, he who weds a Shudra woman becomes an outcast . A Brahmin who takes a Shudra wife to his bed will [after death] sink into hell; if he begets a child by her he will lose the rank of a Brahmin.
A [man of ] low [caste] who makes love to a maiden [of] the highest [caste] shall suffer corporal punishment.
The property of a Brahmin must never be taken by the king, that is a settled rule; but [the property of men] of other castes the king may take on failure of all [heirs].
Let the king corporally punish all those [persons] who either gamble and bet or afford [an opportunity for it], likewise Shudras who assume the distinctive marks of twice-born [men].
Never slay a Brahmin, though he [may] have committed all [possible] crimes . No greater crime is known on earth than slaying a Brahmin. A king, therefore, must not even conceive in his mind the thought of killing a Brahmin.
A Brahmin, be he ignorant or learned, is a great divinity, just as the fire, whether carried forth [for the performance of a sacrifice] or not carried forth, is a great divinity. Thus, though Brahmins employ themselves in all [sorts of] mean occupations they must be honoured in every way, for [each of] them is a very great deity.
[The king] should order a Vaisya to trade, to lend money, to cultivate the land or to tend cattle, and a Shudra to serve the twice-born castes . A Brahmin who, because he is powerful, out of greed makes initiated [men of the] twice-born [castes] against their will to do the work of slaves, shall be fined by the king six hundred [panas]. But a Shudra, whether bought or not bought, he may compel to do servile work, for he was created by the Self-Existent (swayambhu) to be the slave of a Brahmin. A Shudra, though emancipated by his master, is not released from servitude; since that is innate in him, who can set him free?
A Brahmin may confidently seize the goods of [his] Shudra [slave], for, as that [slave] can have no property, his master may take his possessions . That sinful man, who, through covetousness, seizes the property of the gods or the property of Brahmins feeds in another world on the leavings of vultures. The Brahmin is declared [to be] the creator [of the world], the punisher, the teacher [and hence] a benefactor [of all created beings], to him let no man say anything unpropitious nor use any harsh worlds.

I myself is from SC caste.I was lucky to born in beaurocratic family but I myself belief that the discrimination between the youths of india is shedding of the blood in vain.I have never used my status of SC quota becuase I was lucky enough but some ppl are not!!.any way I strongly belief the reservation should be used in terms of financial condtion of a person rather than caste system.the time is high!!!!we need to realise that we should live in the united society of India. There is no doubt that backward people has suffered in the past history. That was foolishness of our hindu ancestors. A MAN IN NEED IS A MAN INDEED.anyone from any caste who is financialy poor should be deserved most. The idea of even mentioning the caste system should be ban in public. As well as legal actions should be taken against a person who discriminate on the basis of caste!!!!

Why should the present generation suffer for what our ancestors & forefathers did?
Politicians & Pro-reservationists in India are crying, saying that the minority classes have been deprived of basic amenities,education,social-status by the brahmins, khsatriyas & other higher classes for centuries.
But are they themselves(Minority Supporters)not creating the same oppression/crime today?
In this modern age under democracy, according to constitutional “EQUALITY OF RIGHTS” Why Should there be bias regarding right to education/job between General Caste & Reserved Class? They are getting admitted to colleges at 45% marks whereas for us the Criteria is 50%.They are getting age relaxation of 5 Yrs,we are not.
They are getting many other benefits in the name of a “CRIME” committed by our fore-fathers.
This is like if someone’s father has committed a theft, his kins & relatives will get punished for that…
The fact is that the real minority like the tribals,poverty-ridden minority families & the under-priviledged are not getting all these benefits. The Creamy Layer amongst them is taking all the benefits…
Is this fair enough??Is this “EQULITY OF RIGHTS” as depicted in Indian Constitution???
Will this not create a social-imbalance?There was so much to say & ASK?
Should such blind politicians in be supported?
