Friday June 30, 2006:5.52 PM – Okay, we finally reached our native place Anjar at 2.30PM instead of 9.30 AM in the morning.

Gandhidham Station

The heat welcomed us once we got out of AC compartment. No signs of rain but its raining heat here, no chance of climate getting cool. The cooler next to me is also not doing its job properly, but as the sun sets, climate will become cool. Nights will be much cooler than evenings.

We are currently leaving to meeting our grand parents.

More updates soon….

Thursday June 29, 2006:10.30 PM - Kelve Road, this place was unknown to me till now but I do not think I will forget it from now. The train stopped for more than 3 hours here, there was derail of train in the next station so we had to stop here till that thing get cleared up.

Currently I am sitting in the train, lights are off, and we are sitting in the upper berths. We were supposed to get food from Valsad but that guy ditched us (we had order the food over the phone, the guy has some parcel service, home made food.) saying the train will reach there by 12 so he just cancelled our order. (The train was supposed to reach there by 9 PM)

So now we are waiting for the Valsad or Vapi and I will get some food from there. It wont be any proper food but will be snacks kind of thing.

More updates later.

Earlier I was pretty impressed with the services of Hutch but as time passed by, they started acting bad. Their mobile network became weaker than ever. I can’t even talk properly in my home, the voice juts breaks and line gets disconnected if I move from my room to my kitchen.

And now today. I faced a really bad problem with them. I got advanced GPRS activated on my phone so that I can use it whenever I am out. And to configure that only, it took me ages and in the end I only fixed the problem.

I bought Bluetooth USB device today so that I can connect directly to the net without a connecting cable. (The cable with they had given was not working properly for some reason)

Okay, everything well, the machine detected the phone, phone detected the machine, everything went on smoothly so I was kind of happy. So then I tried to connect the net using GPRS, got error for the first time, Okay, that’s okay…tried for the 2nd time, error again, 3rd time, error again, 4th time error, Okay!! Time to call Hutch customer support.

Oops, I missed this post earlier… one of the funniest articles I read recently..

The article says Website not working? Try Vaastu

Excerpts from the article:

“Just as the world comprises of the five basic elements, each Website has five elements and these need to be in balance with one another,” says Dr Smita Narang, author of Web Vaastu, a new book that marries Vaastu laws with the Internet.

The book has proved popular with businesses.

Earth is the layout, fire is the color, air is the HTML, space is name of the Website, and water is the font and graphics,” says Narang, adding that each must be chosen carefully and strike a balance with the other.

Narang, a Vaastu expert who has spent four years analyzing around 500 sites, says a Website that is not designed according to Vaastu rules will have few hits and will negatively affect the business.

Good laughing stock? Here is more, Deep, the great Web Vastu Sashtra reader checks the author’s site and gives comments…haha

Oh my god, I think she has followed her tips very well on the site.

  • Earth is layout - Yes, it looks like Earthish color in the background.
  • Fire is the color - Yeah, I can see some fire type of graidents all over the site…
  • Air is the HTML - Yes, yes I can see lot of air in the so called HTML which is bad according to me, markup is in capital letters lol
  • Space is name of the website - Yes, I noticed some space too haha
  • Water is the font and graphics - Graphics? all I could see was floating book image on the left side of the home page (shows pace between image slices) I am sure programmer has put extra space after the image tag instead of putting space in the name lol

In short, the site layout is just not the one which will make people visit the site again. and I see her going wrong all over from so called “Web Vastu” The person should understand that Vastu and Feng Shui are better if they are kept with themselves, for god’s sake, it is internet..leave this place away from your so called Web Vastu.

Well, here is some more…

“A website where the colors hurt your eyes, the music offends your ears or has too much information is probably too cluttered and does not give a positive flow of ch’i,” says Vikram Narayan, a Mumbai-based feng shui practitioner.

The trick, Narayan said, is to remove things in your life or on your Website that serve no purpose, and keep those things that serve you well.

But how does this apply to your website?

Experts say using a combination of astrology and numerology, the ancient sciences will help you choose the right colors, font, placement of graphics and navigation bar to make the perfect website.

And I was fool to believe that Web Designers play major role in deciding the colors, fonts, graphics etc… from now on I will kick my designer and hire an Astrology & Numerology expert lol

I seriously cannot believe how can people go to such an extent to fool people? Vastu for websites? Give me a break. There is a golden rule that, the website should have pleasant colors, decent layout and few more things are taken care to attract users. It is obvious that no one is going to visit the website which has music playing all around with some flashing images. Astrology has nothing do with it.

God save me from these idiots.

Going to Kutch (Gujarat) tomorrow. Quite excited about it as we are gonna give surprise to my grand parents (Maternal Side). I know, it will hot out there but we have some good plans there to roam around in Kutch. We have decided to go to few places. And yes, I am gonna love clicking photos there.

I will have my laptop, mobile phone (with advanced GPRS connection for laptop) so I can almost come online from there. I am not sure how the network will be but the net cost is gonna kill me for sure. I will have to spend around Rs. 1,000 for this net connection (will have to pay for 2 months due to my billing cycle date which is on 4th of every month) and if I use more than 500 MB, I will be charged Rs. 5 per MB, Yeah, it is Rs. 5 per MB. Hutch, the looting company.

So, a quick good bye and I will be posting from there most probably but yea non tech stuff. I have one tech article lined up but time is not allowing me to write more on it, so if I get time there, I will make sure that I finish it and post it here :D
