IE seems to act worst when it comes to CSS. You will end up banging head but you won’t be able to trace the problem for the issue.

Similar thing happened to me today when a friend told me that in IE it is showing character O on the left side of the page. (Check boxed area in the screenshot)

IE Duplicate Character Bug

I tried to trace it myself but did not get any success so finally SitePoint forums came for the rescue and I got to know that my page was suffering from Duplicate character bug in IE. It was happening due to comments between floats.

I had placed comments between the left_box and right_box. So those comments were making things worse and the last character from right side link (View Our Portfolio) was getting repeated.

The problem got fixed once I remove those comments.

It’s pretty funny that we bang our head for these things, just to know that it was some stupid IE bug. lol

13th October, 19th October, 21st October and finally 22nd October (which is supposed to be a bad day according to Hindu rituals)

These are the deadlines I had set for Web1 re-launch. I had plans to launch it on 13th October i.e. 2nd birthday of Web1 and then it moved to Dhanteras and then Diwali but finally, today I am out with the new version. I don’t care if it is a bad day or good day, I just can’t keep it offline anymore, haha

More I work on it, more perfect things I need. The layout was done few days back but I was not finding it perfect so I kept on working to make it perfect and finally, it is out with few very minor bugs, which I am going to fix them in couple of days.

So, what’s so great in this re-launch?

1. The main identity of the company changes: A new out of the box logo has taken place of old one. You may ask, why new logo? Actually, I wanted to re-launch web1 as a creative company, which believes in doing creating stuff all the time. And the earlier logo was not reflecting it, so I decided to go for a new one.

The new one is basically based on the game scrabble where we have added numerical value in the spelling (no numbers are allowed in the game) and redefined it.

2. The new design - Earlier design was more like a serious company but here we have tried to give a look of something fresh. I know we have played around with off-white shade a lot but other elements in the design are doing the job of making things different and fresh. :)

I have plans to add many more features on the site but will add them on timely basis.

So guys, let me know the feedback on the site. You can check the site here: Web1 Solutions

Jaan-E-Mann, directional debut of Shirish Kunder, who tries to mix comedy and romance in the movie but does not get much success, leaving few good scenes apart.

Let me directly move on to the story.

The movie starts with Agastya Rao (Akshay Kumar), a NASA astronaut who is having a romantic time in the space (Yes, no kidding) with his blonde girlfriend. The story goes few years back when Agastya starts story telling to her girlfriend. (There are couple of flashbacks in the flashback too)

Flashback No. 1:

A phone wring from Vakil Chachu (Anupam Kher) interrupts Suhaan Kapoor (Salman Khan) from dreaming about getting a super star award. The next moment he gets to know about demand for Rs. 50 lakh from his ex-wife, to whom he had given divorce a year back.

But wait!! Who is she? And why divorce? Okay, we take you to the flashback no. 2

Flashback No. 2:

A song which tells past life of Suhaan Kapoor in just 5 minutes. Suhaan Kapoor marries his long time girlfriend Piya (Priety Zinta). Piya leaves his parents just for Suhaan. On the other hand Suhaan gets role in a movie but director of the movie asks Suhaan to stay away from his wife as it will affect his film. Suhaan decides to stay away from Piya for 2-3 months. Months passes by, Suhaan does not get success in his acting career. He goes back to Piya but there is no one in their house. Piya already left him and settled in New York.

So now what? How will they pay 50 lakhs to Piya. After trying their luck with their brains, they land up praying the god and guess what? God helps them.

Agastya, who is looking for Piya (returns after 7 years) knocks their door but he finds Suhaan and Vakil Chachu rather than Piya.

So why is Agastya looking for Piya? Well, for this we will have to jump to flashback no. 3

It was really impressive when Shahrukh Khan said “Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin, namumkin hai but to make it meaningful, I would change it to: “Don ko copy karna mushkil hi nahin, namumkin hai. Now by this I do not mean to say that the movie was bad but I am trying to say that comparing both the movies might not be a good thing to do.

The whole movie is very much inspired by the old movie except the twist in the end and couple of other things. I was expecting something different from the movie keeping the base story same as original Don. But Farhan Akhtar decided to use same dialogues and same scenes too (Yes, frame to frame).

The movie is about drug mafia Don (Shahrukh Khan) who gets seriously injured in the police chase and police commissioner DeSilva (Boman Irani) replaces the original Don with his look alike Vijay to find out root of the gang. But commissioner DeSilva dies in an encounter. And Vijay lands up in the jail with no proof which proves that he is Vijay not Don but he fights back to prove that he is Vijay.

The movie also stars Priyanka Chpora as Roma who plays role of Vijay’s girlfriend and Isha Kopikar who plays role of Don’s girlfriend. Arjun Rampal plays the character of Jagjit and he was just OK, nothing much in the role.

The movie as a whole is very stylish and Shahrukh fits in the role of Don very well but it is not possible to compare the role of this age’s Don with the original one. Both are good at their own place. Farhan has tried to give a twist in the story but in this process the story raises few questions and leaves flaws. (I cannot mention them here as they are related with the end of the movie)

Cinematography in the movie is very good, specially the buildings in the Malaysia.

So to sum things up:

Story: The story is more or less same as the original Don and few twists in the story raises questions in the end.

Music: I did not like those remixes much as the music director just added few extra beats in the song but couple of the songs were very good. Aaj Ki Raat was very impressive and so was the title song.

Acting: Shahrukh Khan rocked in the role of Don but he could not do the role of Bihari Vijay well, it looked bit artificial. Priyanka Chopra fits well in the role of Roma, very good acting. Isha Kopikar had very less role in the movie. Kareena Kapoor is just there for one song (and few more minutes). Arjun Rampal did not have much to do. Boman Irani was impressive like always. Om Puri is wasted as Interpol officer. His capabilities as an actor are not explored at all. Rest of the cast is good.

So overall, I would give this movie 3 stars out of 5. There are high chances of movie doing good in the theatres but it might not be liked by the ones who have seen the original Don. The older one will always remain classic and it will be always impossible to recreate the magic that Amitabh Bachchan had created in the original Don.
