Guru has many things to make you excited. 1. It is directed by the Guru of direction, Mani Ratnam. 2. Music is by the Guru of music industry, A R Rahman. 3. It is based on life of the business Guru, Dhirubhai Ambani.

The movie is about life of Gurukant Desai (Abhishek Bachchan), a dreamer, who lives in a small village and believes in dreaming high. The movie shows how Guru becomes India’s top businessman from a small time worker in Turkey. You will find many similarities between the character Guru and Dhirubhai Ambani, be it paralysis attack or being constantly in the news with various allegations.

The movie is shown in 3 phases, Phase 1, the young Guru who leaves India for Turkey to earn more. Phase 2, the young matured Guru, who leaves his job in Turkey and comes back to India to start his own business. And Phase 3, A middle aged businessman, who is top businessman in India and does not believe in looking back. (Even after he was paralyzed).

From the beginning itself the movie does not let you move for a single minute, the music, the cinematography, the direction and finally the acting. Everything is just on the right place and very well balanced. I think this movie will be a milestone for Abhishek Bachchan as his acting abilities have been explored very well. This will be the best role of his career so far. Aishwarya Rai played the role of a very simple innocent girl from a small village. And she played it very well. But the movie totally belongs to Abhishek Bachchan.

The cinematography is really impressive, the locals of the village are shot very beautifully. The waterfalls, the grass fields just make you feel like being there.

Let me sum up the movie.

Story: It is based on the life of Dhirubhai Ambani, the director has handled the subject brilliantly.

Music: When it is A R Rahman, it has to be top class. I personally liked all of the songs. Specially Tere Bina is very impressive.

Acting: Abhishek Bachchan deserves an award. Excellent acting. Aishwarya Rai was also very good. The acting was just too natural. I had a fear that they might not fit well in Gujarati characters but I am really happy that they proved me wrong. Other characters too did their job well. It was good to see Mithun Chakraborty in a decent role after a long time. R Madhavan looked a lot more slimmer than his earlier avatar. Vidya Balan had a very short role but she was good at it.

So, overall I would give this movie 4 stars out of 5. It is a must watch.

Predicto Meter: It should do very good business all over.

I wanted to write lot more about my Matheran trip. Couple of good things to mention but I could not write because of work load. It is more of pending work than new work. But I guess it is matter of 2 more days. I have finished most of the stuff and hopefully my weekend will be relaxing.

For last 2 days, I have been sleeping after 4 AM, family people are yelling at me. Mom even asked me “What do you do till late? play games or something?” lol

But I somehow enjoy these things, working under lot of pressure, learning how to say “sorry, it is still not done” to client. (It happens many times when you are depended on someone for part of your work - but I have started keeping buffer period in between to reduce delays - and it works well!!)

One thing I learnt these days is, being calm. And it helps, really helps.

One more thing I want to point out based on my experience. If you are planning to start your own business, you should be prepared to face the heat; tremendous work pressure, financial pressure (in the beginning). You might have to work from 10 AM to 5 AM (No, it is not typo but my working hours these days). And lastly, like I have been saying this in all my personal posts, I will repeat here too.. you should enjoy whatever you do.

I worked whole day and night, but I don’t complain because I enjoy.

Oh yea, I know I am feeling sleepy and I should sleep now.

11.30 AM Guru haha, I have no idea what all I do these days. Work, movies, blogging - gosh, life is fun. I am enjoying it.

Cheers

Okay, it is 5.20 AM. I worked whole night on a layout. Now in next 40 minutes I am gonna drive to Matheran. 3 days or may be 4 days. No laptop, no Internet. I am gonna enjoy there.

Damn, I really needed a break. Too much stressed out.

I finally decided to continue the trend after getting tagged from couple of (Vivek) people (Manas). So, here we go.

1. I studied in vernacular medium. I finished my schooling in Gujarati medium school. I had topped in English (SSC) but still I was not able to speak English properly. I had fear of speaking English and I always use to say “why did I study in Gujarati medium, I can’t even speak English” But that was 8 years back. Now, I am really proud that I was in Gujarati medium because to learn English or any language you just need to speak it more frequently. You will make mistakes and from those mistake, you will learn.

2. I love to take risks. Now, this statement does not mean that I take risks all the time. But I should say “I love to take planned risks” I think a lot before doing anything big.

3. I am a family person. I do not like sitting on the machine, working all the time. I prefer working till 7 PM and then spend rest of the time with friends, family and at home playing games on my xbox. I do not work on Sundays and work less on Saturdays. But there are exceptions in this too. When there is lot of work, many times I work till early mornings too.

4. I am on diet. Oops, I just heard my cousin calling me to grab some M&Ms. OK OK, I am trying to be on diet. I have plans to start morning walk too. I think that will be my resolution for new year.

5. Through Internet I met some of the most wonderful people like Megha, Pooja, Shibani and Ashish. (These are the people who are like my support - all the time with me - guiding me, kicking my ass if I screw up anything, cheering with me when I am happy) I also met some of the coolest guys like John, Aseem, Nikunj and many more. And I really thank Internet for that.

I think that’s enough. I am not tagging anyone because… hmm no idea. I am just not tagging. lol

Time to rejoice for MTNL Triband users, all the users will be automatically upgraded to 2mbps from today. But this excludes customers under unlimited plan. But still I personally feel it is a great move. This will give a nice kick on the face of local net providers and it will make them upgrade their plans too.

I really love this kind of competition. This new year started off with great stuff.
