13th October, this day is always special to me, not because it is my birthday but it is mainly because it is my baby, Web1’s birthday. Being founder of the company, it is great feeling seeing your baby growing day by day.

I still remember the earlier days, each and every moment of business. Have faced the worst situations as well as the great ones. Remember those days when I used to pray hard to get that Rs. 20,000 project and also cried when I had lost that 1 lakh project. (Obviously it was due to my mistake only)

Also remember the days when I used to run here and there for projects and also remember the days when I had to keep the clients on hold for new projects. (Due to overflow of projects)

haha, the memories are never ending. Overall, it has been a mixed bag with happiness and joy on the heavier side.

Now, I can say that, my baby has started walking on its own feet, started taking baby footsteps and soon, it is gonna start running :)

Some of the great pics of our 3rd birthday celebrations.

Just watching the movie, Dhoka.. I must say, it is just another Hindu Muslim shit with all typical stuff, showing Hindus in bad light and showing them as villains.

Crap movie I must say… Hindu or Muslims.. are all Humans.. and they should understand that first..

Sucks..

OK, for a change, let me start with some ranting session. Just returned from the evening show of Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. Before leaving, I had read reviews by Raja Sen (1 star) and Taran Adarsh (1.5 stars). After watching the movie, the first word came in my mind was.. #$#$#$! you both.. I know you are smart enough to understand what I meant.

I just want to say something to these reviewers. Saying it loudly, ATLEAST MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO WATCH THE MOVIE BEFORE REVIEWING IT.

I guess, these words are enough to understand the whole thing.

Okay, let’s move on to the story.

The story is pretty much simple and predictable. A small happy family living somewhere in Haridwar. Mom does the stitching job to earn some money, father is a retired person, 2 daughters. Elder one lands in Mumbai to earn some money but becomes call girl because of financial problems.

I know the story is like, I have seen it.. kind of stuff. But here, the presentation of the story plays the vital role. The way things were setup, the way actors handled the movie. That was important.

The way Rani’s character was portrayed was simply brilliant, a strong girl with lots of emotions and hopes within but never allowed her emotions to come out. She gave everything to this cruel world to make her family happy, and she cried all alone. On the other hand, Jaya Bachchan was another stronger character. A mother, who never wanted let any of her daughters in pain but she unknowingly lets her elder daughter get into hell. Kokana Sent was fantastic too, a very young innocent girl but very much stronger, bolder and much more matured person from inside.

To be frank, the movie did not have any heros. The movie totally belonged to these 3 ladies, Kunal Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan were mere sidekicks.

But after praising all these thing, it does not mean that the movie did not have any loopholes. Yes, it had many. The story was pretty simple and predictable, characters of Tinu Anand and Shushant Singh were not used properly. Few of the things also raise an eyebrow. But despite all these things, the movie stands pretty much strongly because of the strong characters.

Direction was good, Cinematography was just superb, amazing. Music was good, title song was nice, Zara Muskurake Chalo was my personal favorite.

On the acting front, Rani, handled the whole movie on her shoulders and in 2nd half, Konkana joined her. Both have superb performances. Jaya Bachchan was pretty impressive too. Kunal Kapoor was good, Abhishek did not have much to do. Anupam Kher had a very small role. (The movie belongs to ladies) Rest of the star cast was good.

So overall, I would rate this movie Rating: ★★★☆☆ The movie might not be a hit but it is certainly not a 1 star movie. The movie will be loved by Moms and Dads.

If you are thinking, this is going to be another laughter riot from Priyadarshan, then please go back to you homes and sit back. This movie is NOT a comedy flick. (Thanks to bad promotions) The movie is thriller with bit of comedy. (Priyadarshan trademark types comedy)

Okay, the story is pretty different. (Yeah, I know it is copy of Malyalm movie Manichitrathazhu).

Following is the plot of the movie (from Wikipedia)

The film revolves around a small village/town where the people are very conservative and superstitious. Badri (Manoj Joshi) heads a Brahmin family whose ancestral palace is believed to be haunted. One day, Siddharth (Shiny Ahuja) and Avni (Vidya Balan), the son and daughter-in-law of Badri’s elder brother return to their native village from America and decide to settle down for a month in their ancestral palace.

Events take on a twist when Avni opens a locked forbidden room. As a result, unnatural events start taking place inside the palace. Badri and Batuk Shankar (Paresh Rawal) try to ward off the evil eye with the help of a priest and a parapsychologist. The blame comes to rest squarely on Radha (Amisha Patel), Badri’s adopted daughter. Siddharth brings in his American friend, psychiatrist Dr. Aditya Shrivastav (Akshay Kumar), who uses modern analytical techniques to find out the culprit and solve the mystery.

Now, the review time. What I liked most of the movie was, the ability to mix comedy and thriller together but at the same time, this was the main disadvantage too. All the comedy scenes roaming around Paresh Rawal, Asrani or say Rajpal Yadav looked pretty much natural. (Specially, Paresh Rawal ones.. he is a genius) but when the director tried to let Akshay jump into comedy bandwagon, the things become kind of messy. Though there was couple of very good comedy scenes of him (specially the intro one) but many unnecessary scenes became hurdles in the movie.

In many instances, people were laughing in the serious scenes. Sometimes, I too forgot whether I was watching some thriller movie or comedy.

2nd worst part in the movie was, couple of characters. Specially the character of Sharad. (You should watch the ending for this) In the ending, there was very serious scene between him and Avni, but it simply made people laugh out loud.

3rd worst part was, the length. Editor, should have chopped of couple of songs and few of Akshay’s scenes.

And lastly, director shouldn’t have let Shiney cry.. he looks super funny when he cries.

But there was many good parts too, Vidya Balan takes the first place. Her character was just superb in the 2nd half. But they could have explored her more and could have taken more out of her. 2nd place, Akshay Kumar, despite of having many silly scenes, this guy does his job brilliantly. Then comes Paresh Rawal, like I said earlier, he is a genius. Shiney Ahuja was pretty good leaving some rona dhona apart. Amisha’s role was short and sweet. Rest of the actors were good. (Rajpal yadav was kind of bad in first half but very good in 2nd)

Music was good, actually only 2 songs were good. First one was the title song and 2nd was, Labon Ko.

Direction, was good but could have been much better. Infact, much much better. The story was so strong but the direction was not helping it.

The movie could have been a huge hit if it would have handled well. The promos were also misleading. Everyone thought this was some comedy flick but when they actually watched it, they would something else.

So the reaction in the crowd were mixed, infact I am sure the reaction will be mixed for reviewers too.

I personally liked the movie leaving few scenes aside. I would rate this movie Rating: ★★★☆☆. I wish Priyadarshan had handled the movie much more seriously.

Note: If you are planning to watch this movie, watch it in theatre, if you really want to enjoy it. You won’t enjoy watching it on DVD.
