There is always some kind of excitement over Madhur Bhandarkar movies… the only reason for this is, he chooses the topics which no one has thought of… I really appreciate his choice of subjects but what I do not like is, he gets lost too much into the subject and this affects the movie badly… it had happened with his recent movie Traffic Signal and it is happening again with Fashion..

The story is pretty straight forward… a small town girl with big dreams, lands in Mumbai… after struggling for sometime, she finally gets what she wanted. BUT is this what she wants? Will she be able to live with the success? Rest is to watch..

Yea, I know, I summed up the whole story in few lines without giving idea about the characters… but I think it’s simply not required..

The movie showed some of the shocking things which happens behind the scenes.. it shows everything about the life of models.. from the backstage to their personal life.. drugs, abuses, corporate politics.. everything…

Yea, I know it sounds interesting… very interesting but I think Madhur failed to show things quickly.. he just spent more time in detailing the things… and that is why the movie took around 2.45 hours to finish.. (which I think could have wrapped up in around 2 hours) I could see there was lot of effort in making this movie but sadly the slowness killed the whole movie.

Apart from the slowness, on the acting front, everyone was pretty good… Priyanka Chopra simply ROCKED… award winning performance.. Kangana Ranaut was perfect… so was Mugdha Godse. Kitu Gidwani and Arbaaz Khan were really good.

In short, the movie was perfect in terms of Acting, music, story but the slowness killed the movie (Yea, I am repeating it again).

I really want to give it higher rating but when I think of those yawns.. I stop thinking about the good ratings. I would rate this movie Rating: ★★½☆☆

On the box office front, due to interesting topic, it should get good openings but the pace of the movie should affect the business.

The definition of comedy has changed throughout these years…in earlier years the comedies were more sensible and smart, there was no need to keep our brain at home.. the best examples would be old Golmaal, Chupke Chupke and few more in the same era..  but these days.. everything is stupid… I don’t know whether I should call lack of good directors / story writers or lack of sensible crowd..

The sad part is, these days, stupid films work… Golmaal, Partner, Welcome are some of the example and Golmaal Returns just adds up the list..

Okay, by any means, I do not mean to say that this movie was bad.. so before jumping to any conclusions, let me give you some idea about what movie is about..

The story is quite complicated and is not something which can be explained in few words.. but let me try…

The movie is based on the same characters as Part 1. (Except Sharman Joshi has been replaced by Shreyas Talpade) The character names are almost same but their roles have been changed.

Gopal (Ajay Devgan) who is married to Ekta (Kareena Kapoor). Ekta’s borther Lucky (Tushar Kapoor) is dumb and is in love with some Girl (sorry I have no idea about the name). Madhav (Arshad Varshi) who is in love with Gopal’s sister Esha (Amrtia Arora). Lakshman Prasad (Shreyas Talpade) is in love with Mira (Celina Jaitly).

Gopal works in a fishery company and sometimes gets home late… but his wife Ekta (who is fan of Ekta Kapoor serials) doubts him all the time. One day, Gopal reaches home late and the story takes off from there.

Ekta thinks Gopal was flirting with some girl and he spent whole night with her. Madhav the police inspector thinks Gopal is involved in the murder (murder of one of the employees of Gopal’s company) and Gopal is afraid of his wife, so he makes stories and in the ends, lands himself in the trouble.

The story sounds fun to watch, actually to some extent, it is funny but in many areas, the comedy very stupid.. it doesn’t even make you laugh.

In some parts, specially around end of the first half and somewhere in the middle of second half, I thought the movie was bit slow. Some of the scenes could have been chopped off.. e.g. the scene where Arshad Warsi inspects the murdered body.. a scene where Tushar Kapoor explains the whole thing to Arshad Warsi (when Arshad comes to his house.. Kareena, Amrita and Arshad – 1st half)

On the acting front, Tushar Kapoor is good in his role but sometimes, he goes over the board and becomes more like a noise pollution. Ajay Devgan was pretty good, no overacting. Kareena was pretty good, so were Shreyas Talpade and Arshad Warsi.. .

Amrita Arora and Celina Jaitly did not have much to do but they were good in whatever they did.. there some actress for Tushar Kapoor too.. she just had couple of scenes.. nothing great…

On the music front, I was lucky that there was only 1 song.. (which I managed to ignore)… direction was decent enough.. .like the way they showed the ending.. and the whole Ekta Kapoor thing..  Editing was kind of weak as mentioned earlier…

So overall, I would rate this movie Rating: ★★★☆☆ Giving it high rating just because it will be liked by people.. though it has no logic.. but decent comedy with no double meaning stuff. And apart from these things, people are badly waiting for some decent movie for quite sometime now..

On the box office front, I think it should do good business.

There has been discussions going around for quite sometime over Maharashtra and Bihar issue.. infact one of my posts on this issue got really aggressive comments too but the debate does not end here…

Couple of days back. MNS activists attacked railway examination centers / students claiming they were from Bihar and Maharashtra students should be given the first priority… and they claimed that, there were no ads given in the newspaper about the exams..

But reality is quite different.. the ads were already given by the railway authorities.. the ads were given in Marathi dailies Loksatta (Mumbai, Nagpur) , Navbharat Times, Hindustan Times, Indian Express etc.. but for some reason MNS guys thought there were no ads.. so they decided to attack the exam centers..

The point of this topic is not about what MNS did.. but I am trying to bring forward the aftermath of the attacks..

Nothing much happened actually… a student died, many got injured..

The very next day… police arrests Raj Thackeray, before that.. he dares the government.. these are some of his statements:

"Arrest me and be ready to bear the consequences….you will have to regret"

"If Raj is arrested, entire Maharashtra will be set on fire"

And actually this kind of thing happens.. after the arrest police beefed up the security but that too did not help. The goons started attacking everyone around (video).. they burnt few trucks.. damaged few taxes.. they even managed to burn the bus stop..

In short.. as per Raj’s statement.. Maharashtra was set on fire..

Now, this was about Maharashtra.. Bihar was slow on that day but today I got news that a train coach was burnt in Patna.. (apart from the attacks on other properties)

So… now the point is.. MNS guys claim that they love Maharashtrians and they are fighting to protect every Maharashtrian.. Agreed… but what happened to them while attacking the locals? The trucks… the taxis.. rickshaws.. even the bus stop… so, were they used by only north Indians? None of the Maharashtrians were using it?

Or what was the logic behind torching a train coach in Patna… none of the north Indians were using it?

The common man is suffering in this politics..these politicians brainwash young guys and uneducated guys on the name of Maharashtra and Bihar…

Apart from all these issues.. the main question still remains answered.. what will railway authority do if Maharashtrian students do not apply for the exams? (The ads were already given in the local papers)

The government should simply ban the parties conducting violence and police should use third degree torture for these guys so that this kind of incidents does not repeat.

Wake up Maharashtra.. Wake up India

Karzzzz lives upto it’s half of the name..  i.e. zzzz… you got what I meant right? haha The snoring lady on my left was the perfect example… haha

The movie is basically re-make of the old blockbuster Karz. The story is entirely based on the same movie, just few changes around the script.

Okay, here is the story for the ones who are not aware about old Karz but in a remixed manner…

Ravi Varma (Dino Morea) is a rich billionaire and is madly in love with Kamini (Urmila Matondkar), they both get married and are on the way to meet his mother and sister… (who had built “kaali maa ka mandir” for her son..and was waiting for him to inaugurate) but Kamini wanted all of his money, so she plays the trick and kills Ravi in the plane (proves it as an accident) and sells of all of his property to a funny villain named Sir Judah.. (who can’t speak but he uses his Chinese musical touchpad to communicate with his 2 funny sidekicks)

Now, 25 years later… musical sensation, rockstar (he calls himself with that tag) Monty (apna Himesh bhai) arrives.. girls go mad, faint when he sings.. (haha I can understand it… poor girls…).. the audience in the theatre go berserk when he starts singing.. aah… let me get back to the movie..

So, this guy, Monty is not happy with this life.. his step mother and father are too cunning… the guy is missing love of his mom.. he always wishes to have a mother…

The guy goes to some party… he meets one girl there.. Tina (Shweta Kumar) is the name.. everyone in the party asks him to sing but he says, he cannot sing due to contractual obligations… he says.. I will play an instrument.. this leaves smile on my face… everyone in the theatre thanks god for this “contractual obligation” BUT god wanted us to go through the torture.. Tina comes in front of Monty..  and apna Monty suddenly starts singing in his super cool voice… people start going for the drinks.. I shut my ears..

Okay… finally the song gets over.. but god again wanted to test our patience.. girl leaves for Kenya.. the guy doesn’t know what to do… he suddenly finds her photo in a friend’s mobile phone… and guess what? He pens a new song.. Om Hari Om.. and while playing Karz tune on his guitar.. Monty recollects his old memories.. doctor suggests him to take some rest.. his doctor friend suggests him to go to Kenya to find Tina..

On the other hand.. Tina is singing Monty’s song.. her friends asks her to sing few more lines.. but suddenly.. our Monty arrives in the helicopter and continues from there… TIna is impressed and now they both are in love…

Enters.. Princess Kamini… Monty recollects her and to take the revenge back.. he sings couple of songs with her.. (yea, super funny Tan Tan Tan Tandoori nights too) and makes her fall in love with him.. they both decide to get married… but Monty had some other plans..

What other plans? Well.. watch old Karz for that… See, I am not recommending new one.. so don’t blame me..

Oh yea, and our Monty does some matrix stunts too… he jumps around.. kicks few guys.. oh man.. so many other things.. he cries too…

So in short.. without wasting much of your time.. the movie sucked big time.. the direction was bad… Himesh is really giving hopes to all the bad actors in the industry.. Shweta Kumar is too young to become an actress… Urmila should officially retire.. Music.. couple of songs were OK but rest of them were BAD….

I would rate this movie Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ Don’t bother watching it.. unless you want to have fun seeing Himesh crying and dancing..

Completed 27 years today… my company Web1 completed 4 years today…

The days are passing by at the speed of the light.. memories of last year are still fresh and another one just popped up… feels good.. feels happy but to be frank, I am not so fresh and happy this time.. may be the slogging I did for past couple of months have taken toll on me.. or may be I am not happy with certain things..

But on the other hand.. I am really happy for my company, I am really loving the way it’s shaping up.. not growing at the rocket speed but on slow and steady pace it is getting ready to run on its own feet..

The company size has grown to 6 team members (4 last year).. the number is going to increase pretty rapidly from now on.. (already looking for 7th member).. Megha is going to join me full time in few days.. Getting good amount of work… improving on the quality day by day.. but still I am waiting for the day when we are 100% in terms of quality… really eagerly waiting for the day.. and I am pretty much sure that, I should be able to achieve that in coming couple of months..

In the past year.. there were few hiccups.. mostly from the employment side.. had good amount of rough days… (and still having) but hopefully things will be smooth within a week… and I will get rid of all these sleepless nights.. and will get my weekends back too…

But again.. I am not complaining.. it’s a whole package.. and we need to accept it with a smiling face.. if there are good times.. there will be bad times too.. there is no fun without the bad times..

Want to write more and more but I guess… I will end up making this a sad post rather than a happy happy post.. haha

So, let’s talk about good things… very good things.. haha the gifts…

Till now… got really cool gifts.. wife and sister gifted me.. a nice looking shirt.. a friend gifted me a nice shirt with some super yummy chocolates.. (and my fav. chocolate orange flavored Lindt)

AND… THERE IS A SUPER COOL AND EXCITING GIFT FROM ME TOO.. haha

I was going to give it myself today but due to work load.. I could not give it…

So what is it? haha

A super sexy blog design…

So how does it look? Well… will have to wait for few days.. but here is the sneak peak..

Deep's New Blog Design

This one is just a rough header with watermark on the images and all.. the whole layout is currently being converted to CSS/xHTML.. there are really some cool things on the roadmap…

So, what do you think? How does it look? :D

I guess.. that’s it for now…

Ending it with a happy note… just need best wishes of everyone.. :)

Thanks
