First we had seen an array of stations getting renamed (Railway stations and Airports) to Chatrapati Shivaji. Now, it is Jagannath Seth’s turn. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) wants to rename Grant Road to Jagannath Seth Station. Some excerpts from the article:

THE ruling party in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Shiv Sena, stonewalled its own proposal to rename Mumbai Central railway station to Jagannath Shankar Seth Railway Station. Their logic not a single railway station in the city has the word Mumbai attached to it. Now, the Sena wants to rename Grant Road Station after Seth.

It took about a month-and-a-half for the Sena to realise that no other railway station has the word Mumbai. Dalvi told MiD DAY, “There was a proposal of renaming Mumbai Central but the same name has the identity of the city. So we dropped it after a discussion with (Shiv Sena executive president) Uddhav Thackeray.”

Dalvi further said, “Now we are contemplating a proposal to rename Grant Road Railway Station as Jagannath Shankar Seth Railway Station.”

I still do not understand, why there is any need to rename stations? Instead of wasting time in these kind of stupid things, why not find solutions for current problems?

LOL, yea, it happens only in India and that too in Bihar….

Muzaffarpur: Unbelievable, but true. The Bihar police have named a three-month-old boy in a bus robbery case in this district.

The officer in charge of Minapur police station has registered a case against the infant, Praveen Kumar, charging him, his father Shashi Kant Rai and one Pappu Kumar Rai of Nehalpur village of being involved in the bus robbery, superintendent of police Ratna Sanjay confirmed while talking to PTI.

He, however, said the case, which was registered on Sept 22, was filed on the basis of the statement of the bus conductor Lal Babu Rai of ‘Chanda Travels’.

I have no idea about logic behind this case… 3 month old kid and robbery lol

Yes, Yes, Yes, they suck BIG TIME.

Here is the scene, A client sent me DD through registered post, office was closed to it remained undelivered and postman gave us a receipt which said collect it from post office between 9.30 - 10.30 AM.

I visit the post office, show them the receipt, they ask me if I have brought my company stamp and my ID card as proof. I show them both and the very next minute the person says “Nahi mil sakta hai abhi” (You can’t get it now) I ask them the reason, I get reply saying post office department does not know if my company exists or not. I was like, what the hell? It is just a registered post not any property paper where you have to check the stuff.

They ask me to send them some letter stating that my company exists  and details about company with the address. I will also have to mention in the letter, the name of the person who will come to collect the registered post on behalf of the company. Once I send them the letter, they will send their person to our office to check if my company really exists or not. And this process may take 15 days. It depends upon the person who is going to visit my office. They do not give any timeline.

So after all these things I may get the registered post.

It just pisses me off when they come up with these illogical solutions. I mean why the hell I cannot collect the post if I show them the proof? My company stamp, my ID card? Why in the world I have to send the letter and wait for their person to check if my company exists or not.

It is just so silly and stupid on their part to do things like this.

God only knows when they will improve and have some logical rules.

I got this email couple of days back…

Was nice speaking to you …Actually the concept is that all these designs that we are making are not sales BUT we will try and sell to clients after the new mockups (Layouts) are made and ready to show them . So there will be 100s of designs we will have to make everyday and hope 1% - 2% get converted . So I will be paying you upfront after my designer approves the design to keep a check on quality . So even if the design does not sell you get paid anyway and later if the design sells we will make the other pages in-house and complete the job .

Each designer will be able to make around 6-7 designs on a daily basis . We will give him the present URL and he will basically have to make a nice design accordingly so the client likes it and buys . He can take design ideas from other similar sites so that he can dish out designs real fast .. Hope you get the concept .. A good designer can even make 10 a day. We will be paying Rs. 150 for a single page design layout NO html needed. Just wanted to know if you can match this quality of mockups or even make better . These are just the examples what we are looking out for ….

Yeah, I know, many of you guys did not understand; English translation is “Sweet Sea Water”. Okay still did not understand? Okay let me come to the point, I just got a text message from my friend saying, “checkout news, sea water at Mahim (A place in Mumbai) has become sweet and 1000s of have gathered to taste it.” As I can see on the Aaj Taj many people have reached theere with bottles and empty vessels so that they can take the sweet sea water home.
This is totally crazy thing, I can see news channels showing many people drinking it…though the reason for this is not clear till now but many of the superstitious people are considering this as god’s gift and it has happened because the sea is on the back side of the Dargah.

But there is no scientific reason has been determined till now. Doctors have advised not to drink the water as it can be intoxicated. The reason for the sweet water can be mixture of chemicals in the water. But people are not ready to understand anything and they are just drinking the polluted water of the sea. Mahim’s sea (Khadi) is known to be one of the polluted place.

Till now, none of the sites are showing this news online. You can checkout Hindi news channels for the information on it.
