Okay, OK, I was wrong.. I was wrong to expect anything from Yashraj movie. I was wrong to have some kind of hope in this movie. But yaar, it wasn’t that bad too. Too confusing? Hell, yeah.. it is..

So, let’s cut the crap and move to above things in the review part..

Well, the story is pretty simple.. A young guy, who falls in love with 3 ladies at different time.. 1st, when he was in HSC.. (1996), 2nd when he started working with a company in Mumbai (2002) and 3rd.. when he moved to Australia..

So, what’s the story in it? haha, The guy breaks heart of first 2 girls so badly and he never realizes it.. but now, 3rd one breaks his heart and then.. he realizes how it feels.. he feels the pain..

So what will he do now? haha… Do I need to say it? Go figure out…. (It’s not so difficult to predict the whole story)

Okay, review time..

The movie started with a guy going back to his flashback.. and taking us to Switzerland where he had fallen in love for the first time (with Minnisha Lamba).. these guys tried to show us that it was actually 1996..but somehow I felt, the actors looked lot more older than those 18 year olds.. they tried to act cute and all… but to be frank it did not work with me..

2nd story was in 2002, with Bipasha Basu.. the guy was shown working for Microsoft’s gaming section.. (I don’t know how they managed to get Gears of Wars poster in 2002 though) Okay, now here.. the guy looked younger and Bipasha looked older.. it was kind of mismatch.. but here, there were few comedy scenes and the performance was much real.. specially Bipasha’s.

Now, year 2007.. the guy is in Sydney.. meets Deepika Padukone.. there was some kind of spark between Ranbir and Deepika this time.. may be they are real life couples so they can do things better? I don’t know all that but their chemistry worked well.. I really liked Deepika’s acting, her character was very different from other girls..

Okay.. now, the movie was quite ok in the first half but as it reached interval… the whole movie became very predictable and it turned into one of those common movies that we had seen in late 90s or whatever..

So, all mixed things..? hmm.. there were few great things in the movie too. The music.. great music.. really loved the songs.. cinematography was SUPERB.. really loved Switzerland, Australia and Italy.. fantastic stuff..

So to sum the things up.. on the acting front, Ranbir was pretty good.. though he was kind of over the board in first story but overall.. good acting. Minnisha again, she went overboard like Ranbir in first story but later it was all good.. Bipasha.. despite of looking bit older in front of Ranbir.. she was the best of the lot.. I really loved her acting.. Deepika was good..actually, she did not have much to do.. I think Bipasha got the best role..

The movie could have been made much better, in terms of execution, story etc.. basically, the concept of 1 guy falling in love with 3 girls was great but the way it was turned out was bad. They could have made it thorough romantic comedy movie rather than adding some drama and all. But again, that’s their call.. from the viewer’s point of view, I feel, the movie needed better execution and modification in the story.

So, overall, the movie should do better business than Salman Khan starrer God Tussi Great Ho.. (As we don’t see any promotions or hype for that movie) Few people might like the movie and few might not. It should get mixed reactions.

I would give this movie Rating: ★★½☆☆

Watch it on weekends.. you might like it..

1800 prints, Akshay or Katrina present at almost all the events happening around the world. Radio stations promoting the movie like crazy. These guys even bought some movie reviewers to give 4 stars. (Read: Taran Adarsh) So, is it worth so much of hype? Well, this review is gonna help you to find it out :D

OKay, so the story.. well, there is nothing great in the story, started well but the whole thing stopped in between and like a blind man walking on the streets, the story also jumped here and there..

Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar) is someone who always wants to help people but unknowingly things go bad all the time and due to this all the villagers plan to kick him off from the village. So, they make a plan and send him to Australia to bring back the don Luky Singh (Sonu Sood) to their village as don’s parents are not able to live without him. So? Well, our happy singh happily goes to Australia, lands in Egypt by mistake first though.. falls in love.. reaches in Australia.. and tragedy.. this Happy Singh becomes the King.. the Don.. No, nothing serious out there.. all fun.. And the same typical love triangle and all starts..

Okay, I guess, that was enough to give outline about the whole movie. So now, let’s move on to the review.

So, how was the movie?

Hmm.. it started off with array of bad scenes.. atleast first 10 minutes were kind of boring.. then it became pretty impressive till the interval. Akshay Kumar was superb, few comic scenes were just way too good. (Specially the fan one.. I am still laughing over it)

2nd half is more of typical stuff.. something what we see in other movies.. bad guys trying to become good guys, some love triangle and all that crap… but again, few of the comedy scenes were just superb.

Let’s cut the crap, tell me how was it in simple words?

It was a strictly OK movie, but there was lot of scope. Execution was really bad, many unnecessary scenes. (e.g. blind girl scene was simply stupid, couple of songs were also not needed) The movie was at it’s best in comedy scenes but it all messed up when they added some emotional stuff… though they tried a lot to put in comedy flavor in the emotional things but somehow it did not work.

In short, the movie was like a bumpy ride, sometimes it was at very high and sometimes it was at very low.

Akshay Kumar simply rocked.. After Shah Rukh Khan, this guy takes the place.. he can make any bad movie a hit.. (We have seen that in Welcome) Katrina Kaif was OK, she looks very cute though and simply gorgeous in Teri Ore song..(Looks great in that black saree) Om Puri was good, Sonu Sood didn’t have much to do but he was perfect for the role. Javed Jafri was OK, few of his scenes were very good but there were pathetic scenes too. (Specially the dancing moves one towards the ending) I think, everyone knows that he is a good dancer.. no need to show him dancing in all the movies. He should simply stick to his character. Rest of the starcast was good.

Music was pretty good, 2-3 songs were very good, Teri Ore takes that first place.. evergreen romantic song. The title song by RDB and Snoop Dogg was pretty good too. Cinematography was top grade, great locals.

Direction was OK, like I said earlier, many things could have been improved, many unwanted scenes could have been cut. Also, the movie needed a good Editor, some of the songs were simply bumped into the scenes.

Okay, so overall, the movie was pretty ok, nothing great. I would rate this movie Rating: ★★½☆☆

But I am sure this movie is gonna be a superhit or even a blockbuster. Aam Janta might love it and it will have a good business abroad and in Punjab. (Specially UK)

So, if you wanna have some caramel popcorn and Pepsi, then go for this movie and enjoy the popcorn.

WEIRD!!!! That’s what came out of my mouth after the movie.. I mean, no story of the movie, no base.. nothing… but still it made me laugh atleast.. haha

Okay, let me give you some idea about the plot..

As mentioned earlier, the movie does not have any story, it has but it was a joke.. crazy weird stuff.. 2 people meet at weird place, end up doing weird things and then fall in love.. but one of them doesn’t realize… and then there is a happy ending with a kiss… hahah

Btw, the story is nothing new, it is basically ripped off from Korean movie called My Sassy Girl (released in 2001)..

Okay, so quick review time..

First half was pretty good compared to 2nd one.. atleast few scenes made me laugh.. though none of the scenes made any sense.. but the things went haywire when Mallika started crying.. now that was something no one would want to see.. why? Simple… she cannot do all those rona dhona stuff..

The songs were added just for the sake of adding some music in the film.. I personally did not like any of the songs..the music was by our own.. Aanuu Maalik.. no no.. Annu Malllik… no no sorry.. Aannuu Maliik.. damn, whatever the spelling is but you got it right? So obviously, when he gives the music.. it has to be bad.. and this guy even dared to sing for a song.. Shut Up, Aa Nachle is the name.. the first song itself..

Okay, so now on the acting front.. Ranvir Shorey was FANTASTIC.. perfect from the beginning through the end. He acted so well, infact I really loved few scenes.. spl. the cycle one.. the one where he exchanges his shoes with Mallika etc.. nice stuff… on the other hand Mallika Sherawat was good but she should strictly stay away from rona dhona kind of stuff.

So, overall this movie was wacky kind of.. the movie doesn’t make any sense… the story too is kind of stupid but keeping the same story, I think movie could have been made much better than the current one.. but the director lost at many places. Added few unwanted scenes.. (the terrace suicide one.. it could have been shown in a better way). The movie also leaves many question marks if we think hard over it..bad music.. few bad characters.. (Kuhu’s parents.. specially Tinu Anand was waste)

But but but.. apart from all that.. the move stands at Rating: ★★½☆☆. All credit goes to Ranvir Shorey…

You can wait for the DVD and watch it.. or if you are like me.. (who wants to be in the theatre every Friday), then go for it.. but don’t blame me in the end.. this one is not something which will be liked by everyone…

Movie should do decent business in Multiplexes atleast.. I don’t see chances of it doing good in single screens..

Well, what should I say about this movie? Masterpiece.. one of a kind.. OK, enough of joking. Let’s get back to the serious mode.

So, the movie.. what is it about?

Well, it revolves around a journalist named Vikas Sagar (Zyed Khan) who is working for Indian news channel. He moves to Istanbul for 3 months to assist well established news channel Al-Johara. (They wanted to setup their roots in India)

So our hero, reaches Istanbul, there is meets our stylish anna Sunil Shetty aka Owais Husain, who tries to impress the audience with his chatur dimag alias super brainpower.. both guys exchange their history in less than 2 minutes.. anna speaks some polished British style English and again tries to impress the audience..

Now, they reach the office and meet the owner of the news channel.. Ghazni (Nikitan Dheer), Now, our Hero and the owner tries to impress the audience.. and bummer.. grr.. a song.. now the next day, our hero goes to Afghanistan for news coverage.. there they meet another hero (Hero had met him earlier too), now, the hero, anna and pure Hindi speaking Afghan Shabbir Alhuwalia, try to impress the audience with their English.. (back off.. back off.. haha I still remember that funny scene) and with some hero giri stunts..

Ok, I think it should be lot more quicker now.. Anna dies.. hero cries.. the new guy tries.. new guy? Eh.. yea, we have one more hero, Rizwan (Vivek Oberoi) who always tries to save our main lead hero by giving him warning messages..

Ok, so the hero gets to know that the main news channel chief is behind all these things and he needs to get into the 13th floor of that building, hack the systems and get data in his so called X Drive, which supposedly hacks into the machine, copies the data and spreads the virus in whole network..

So, the reporter turns as a Hacker.. he hacks the machine.. I am still wondering how did he manage to decrypt the system password LOL..

Okay, the chase begins.. the heroine who is crying in India returns to Istanbul to find the Hero.. dhishum dhishum.. guns.. bombs.. and they save India.. kiss each other and the movie is over.. haha

So, now the main part.. the bashing time aka the review..

First of all, what was in the Director’s mind while making this movie? Ok, did he want to make a movie or a sponsorship program for the news channel (Aaj Tak) and a cold drink (Moutain Dew). These guys crossed the limits this time… the movie’s tagline was same as Mountain Dew’s (Dar Ke Aage Jeet Hai). I mean, the whole thing was total crap.. the news reporter who always boasts stuff like exclusively on Aaj Tak, Terrorists show up the board saying “Only Aaj Tak reporter for interview” and all.. come’on guys, don’t you understand, it doesn’t work?

And what’s up with the George Bush part? Why was he needed? Just to waste time? And, I am still wondering why there was any need for the lead heroine? Why these guys always think that, the movie cannot be made without the heroine?  And, what’s up with Abhishek’s item number? Pathetic music + bad choreography + super bad clothing? And, clone of Osama Bin Landen? Did they want to show younger version of Osama? haha..

There are many things like this in movie but if I list them all, the page is never gonna end..

OKay, director bashing done.. now, actor bashing..

Zyed Khan – This guy seriously needs some acting lessons.. it really pisses me off when this guy opens his mouth.. he should simply keep it shut.. PERIOD

Vivek Oberoi – Better.. better than Zyed Khan but still can’t be called as an actor.

Sunil Shetty – He should seriously think about leaving his so called English.. he is bad at his accent.

Shreya Saran – She need to act in BETTER movies..

Rest – OK, I am not impressed..

Okay.. the music? Well, pathetic.. no more words.

So let me sum it up.. hmm.. wait.. some more important things which you might want to learn from this movie..

  • There is only one good channel.. Aaj Tak.. they get all exclusive stuff and every terrorist loves this channel.
  • Every reporter can fight like army men, they know how to handle the guns, they know how to kill those terrorists.
  • Every reporter knowing some computer can hack high end systems using X Drive and by “unlocking” the password.
  • Always keep Mountain Dew with you, it gives extra boost. And whenever you see bunch of guys coming with guns and all, just drink the Mountain Dew, crash the can and say “Dar Ke Aage Jeet Hai” loudly.. all those goons won’t be able to kill you.
  • You can use Windows Media Player to read out data from your pen drive… LOL
  • And the last.. this one is super cool. If you are a normal guy or reporter.. you are in a situation where your wife / girlfriend is with the goons, your hand are tied up.. just make your wife say.. “Go tiger.. get him” And the bad guy will be yours..

OK, that’s it guys… I hope you enjoyed the review.. I am sure you will understand whether to go for the movie or not.. haha

On the box office front.. well.. another Disaster..haha

Believe me, I am still Yawning.. what a pathetic movie.. I mean, did they even know what they wanted to achieve by mixing few Hindi movies? Some portion from Munnabhai.. old age home and stuff.. some portion from some other movies.. hit Music.. and some funny numerological movie title.. – surely does not make a movie hit.. They just presented old wine in bad bad bad new bottle.. (This one is copied version for English movie Just My Luck too)

Okay, let’s move on to the story, the plot..

Raj Malhotra (Shaid Kapur) is an intelligent person but due to his bad luck he never gets the things right.. he has lost his faith in the things.. but presence of one girl.. Priya (Vidya Balan) changes his bad luck to good luck.. but now in this, Raj lies to Vidya about certain things and the story moves on..

Wanna read a better version? Check it out on Wikipedia

Okay.. the movie starts of pretty well.. i.e. first 10 – 15 minutes.. but after that the whole thing becomes predictable.. the worst part was when Priya was shown running an old age home..  simply pathetic.. I do not have any words to define how pissed off I am..

Even, Juhi Chawla’s character was really stupid.. it did not make any sense to me.. she even couldn’t make anyone laugh.. she should retire from the movie scene or look out for some GOOD roles.. not any stupid roles like this one..

The music was good.. actors were good but the plot was the weakest part…

Shahid was good, Vidya was good.. even other actors were perfect (Except Juhi Chawla).

I really do not want to say anything more about the movie.. all I know is.. I have wasted my money on it and I do not want you to do the same..

STAY AWAY..

About the rating.. hmm.. Rating: ★½☆☆☆ should be more than enough.. the stars are only for the music and cinematography..

On the box office front.. the movie might get good opening due to heavy promotions but I do not see it doing good in long run..
